what i don't understand is why thailand tightens its policy when numbers are high in country and loosens when the numbers go down!
When the boat is flooded, plug all the holes or boat will sink. When numbers are rising, tighten all restriction to flatten the curve or health care system will collapse.

Indeed some expats seem to think people should work for free 10.000 a year given the price is not much. However that it went up to 20k is a bit strange the reason is strange. Maybe something lost in translation.
Otherwise it could be a scam and time to look for a new accountant (could be a hassle)
Total yearly cost to OP still unchanged because for 20K he doubled the validity (2 years work permit).

If you still have a second US bank account, try to use mobile check deposit. Snap a picture of the front and back of the check on your smartphone and deposit it using the bank’s mobile app.

OK...interesting. I've rarely used cash for 15-20 years, except for small purchases and "cash only" establishments.
But show me a Starbucks or Subway that refuses cash, which was the point of my post.
None of those Starbucks below accept cash.

They accept cashless payments of various types. They do not refuse cash.
Many small shops like the one below are using Covid-19 transmissions as an excuse for refusing to accept cash.

Wrong, cash is accepted, maybe the one that you used is the exception.
Starbucks Thailand stop accepting cash in selected stores. They are all listed under cashless-store.

Got a "Final Warning" for verification for my Thailand Paypal account. But the verification link seems to require a government-issued Thai ID number. It's not accepting my passport number. Anyone else with the same problem?
I managed to successfully updated my nationality and passport number in Paypal Thailand by following the link in "Final Warning" email. I received the "you are all set" message. No Thai ID needed.

Can the Thai cell phone services be set to allow wifi calling, so that you could receive bank codes etc. without a cell connection as long as you are connected to wifi?
Yes, I once received OTP on AIS SIM using wifi calling with in-flight wifi. No chances of getting cell connection as the plane is in mid-flight but still received OTP through in-flight wifi.

You will need to enable international roaming first for your Thai SIM. You can check with the TRUE/AIS/DTAC shops whether your Thai SIM has international roaming enabled or not. Once the roaming is enabled, you can receive SMS on your Thai SIM abroad.

My understanding is you add the esim to the phone with a QR code. Couldn't they send me the QR code?
I understand that only the eSim for AIS SIM2FLY can be requested online. No online acquisition for regular Thai SIM cards.

I tried and it was blocked on Kasikorn Credit Card, the bank told me it was due to Bank of Thailand rules.
This was Binance also..
I tried to buy Bitcoins on Binance using Kasikorn crecdit card and was rejected too.
I can only buy Bitcoins on Binance when I switch to using credit card from my country.

2.5% currency conversion fee will be added to the exchange rate. So, you will be charged at a higher exchange rate for your payments in USA.

As with so much else in the vaccination rollout here, this makes a mockery of what they're doing. I don't know about the mass vacination places like Bang Sue, but all the hospitals seem to insist on taking your BP before they will give you a vaccine. If they regard the reading as being unacceptably high, you're told to sit and wait for a while to relax and allow it to go down to normal. In theory, if it doesn't go down to whatever they regard as an acceptable level, then they will turn you away unvaccinated and tell you to come back. I've heard of this happening to a Thai lady, but not to any expats so far. But why bother if BP is such a major risk, surely it's best for people to get vaccinated against Covid regardless of how high their BP is. You could even argue that people with abnormally high BP should have the waiting period for the second dose reduced (from 12 weeks in the case of AZ) to help give them maximum protection ASAP. Instead, they're refusing to vaccinate the group they now claim are among the most vulnerable. Ting tong, or what?
The COVID-19 vaccine does not appear to directly affect blood pressure. However, a very small number of individuals may experience an increase in their blood pressure if they are extremely anxious or have a strong pain response when they get the vaccine. Hence, the wait to get blood pressure stabilize. If doctors suspect vaccine will do more harm than good to the individual due to his existing medical condition, they have the right to refuse to do the vaccination.

Young adults with high blood pressure are also in high risk group. If a young adult die from Covid, he is most likely has medical condition such as high blood pressure.

Lordy. "to protect exports". Seriously? Don't these people understand how this virus is transmitted.
Spoiler alert, it can't be sent UPS or FedEx...
If workers are sick and factory need to stop manufacturing goods, there will be no exports. To protect the exports from being stopped, workers need to be vaccinated.

Or am i still just a dirty farang? #FreeSoapies
You can already enter with out ASQ if you are vaccinated by using Phuket sandbox. You don't need any travel bubble agreement.

I think the COD is using Prompt pay QR code instead of Bank QR code.
Prompt Pay QR is not automatically link to your Bank account.
You will need to register to get Prompt Pay link to your Bank account.
You can only pay using Prompt Pay QR after you register your bank account.
You can register for Prompt Pay at your bank ATM as in the example below.

I am currently out of Thailand. I have a dual sim card phone that has one sim from Thailand and one local sim. Thai sim is on international roaming and I only use it to receive OTP from Thai banks. Local sim is for making calls and mobile data.
