The majority were from neighboring countries like Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar.

Majority of the foreign patients might be Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar but most of them qualify for free health coverage as migrant workers. Their employers need to pay into social security for hiring them in the first place.

    ROFL.

The exemption is also only for people who own land and house. So basically this law just <deleted> us foreigners, condo owners and investors in an already unattractive real estate maket.

This happens when people with no economic understanding run a country.

"Persons owning one residential house or apartment worth more than 50 million baht, will have to pay 200 baht tax each year on every million baht of excess housing value"

It does mention apartment in the OP so not only for landed properties. The way I understand is this new tax is targeted to people owning more than one house or apartment.

Meanwhile, JICA Chief Representative Katsura Miyazaki said JICA was pleased to be part of this project by sharing experience and knowhow with the Thai government.

This has nothing to do with the Thai government, it's more about foreign companies protecting their facilities in Thailand because if left alone Thais don't have a clue what to do.

A case in point back in the "year of the great flood" I remember many foreign companies in and around Ayuthaya being totally flooded out for weeks, the Thai response was to prevent future flooding they would build a high wall around the industrial site !

One wondered how people, supplies etc would enter & exit the site without water going in.... maybe they forgot to mention a bridge?

That's presuming people could get to the flooded industrial site with the high water levels outside..

On the year of great flood, the actual period of flooding was a little over one month but many factories cannot resume manufacturing for half a year due to long lead time required to replace expensive industrial machinery damaged during flood.

If water cannot get inside the factory and cause damage to the expensive equipment, factory can immediately resume manufacturing when water recede.

Seriously,  I could check these 3 sickles in my check in bag no problems.  Can check in guns as easy as skis.  Just show a gun is unloaded  and in a gun case.  Many hunters and competitors travel  with long guns.

My GF did tell me cant  take on plane in Thailand  but I dont see why not.

This is taken from Nok Air website. Sward, knifes and similar items (this should cover 3 sickles) may be allowed as checked baggage.

"We reserve the right to refuse carriage of such baggage or such items found in baggage as follows:

    • items which are not properly packed in suitcases or other suitable containers in order to ensure safe carriage with ordinary care and handling
    • items which are likely to endanger the aircraft or persons or property on board the aircraft, such as those specified in the Dangerous Goods Regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO ) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and in our Terms and Conditions and Conditions of Contract
    • items the carriage of which is prohibited by the applicable laws, regulations or orders of any state or country to be flown from, to or over
    • items which in our reasonable opinion are unsuitable for carriage by reason of their weight, shape, size or character
    • fragile or perishable items
    • fresh or frozen seafood or other meats
    • firearms and ammunition
    • explosives, flammable or non-inflammable gas (such as aerosol paints, butane gas, lighter refills) refrigerated gas (such as filled aqualung cylinders, liquid nitrogen), flammable liquids (such as paints, thinners, solvents) flammable solids (such as matches, fire lighters), organic peroxides (such as resins), poisons, infective substances (such as viruses, bacteria), radioactive material (such as radium), corrosive materials (such as acid, alkali, mercury, thermometers), magnetic substances, oxidizing materials (such as bleaches).
    • weapons such as antique firearms, swords, knives and similar items provided that such items may be allowed as checked baggage at our absolute discretion for very special reasons. These cannot be carried into the aircraft for any reason whatsoever."

Just after weighing our bags and realised that I will need to check in 1 bag.

I guess i'll now need to go to the kiosk to get a bag tag? The boarding pass still states that Step 1 is to go to the Bag Drop Counter, but again, from what i've read on another TV thread was that you had to go to the kiosk.

AirAsia seem to be a nightmare! Can't wait to see how it goes.

If you already checked in online and has a print out, skip the kiosk and go directly to Bag Drop counter. Air Asia staff will do both document check and baggage check-in at the same Bag Drop counter.

    Excellent, thanks!

I have just had a flash back of going to the kiosk to print off the boarding pass... it came in the form of a receipt!

We will be able to check-in online and we will certainly be able to carry our hand luggage with us.... thanks again!

Printing boarding pass from kiosk can be hit and miss. I encountered problems in the past where kiosk cannot find my booking and I need to queue up at the check in counter to get my boarding pass. If you can print the boarding pass at home, please do so to save time.

Thanks, I eventually did too but only when AVA generates that link which is very hard to get it to do. You can't directly request it.

Still doesn't answer my question re what check in staff would likely do in this situation though. All I got from Allstar was what I already got from the website: to change a booking you have to do it 48 hours or more in advance. That is not however the same thing as whether, in event of a flight with empty seats, check in staff at airport will board people holding a ticket for the flight afterwards.

I know that other airlines usually will, in part because they may have stand by passengers or last minute bookers wanting the next flight so it is in their interests to use seats otherwise going unfilled and thereby free up seats on a later flight. But no idea re Air Asia.

    https://www.airasia.com/th/en/book-with-us/our-fares.page

Flight change is allowed but cut off time depends on the type of the ticket purchased.

Low Fare and Value Pack: Allowed for a fee up to 48 hours before scheduled time of departure.
Premium Flex and Premium Flatbed: Allowed up to 2 hours before scheduled time of departure.

If the ticket is low fare or value pack, it is not possible to change to earlier flight if departure time is less than 48 hours away.

  8. Both of your flights are in same ticket? If yes, you should have received the boarding pass for both flights since first flight check-in.
