What is the average social and economic status of men who maintain the up-keep of a mia noi? Obviously from the standpoint of the most high-and-mighty, self-rightious, pejorative-tossing farang on this forum, mia nois are what: Whores? Prosititutes? Sluts? Tramps? Harlots?

So, instead of spewing disparaging terms for women who make their incomes based on an exchange of womenly companionship for financial support solely on this forum, start chiming in on some of the forums frequented by wealthy, powerful, Thai men, and start referring to their minor wives and girl-friends in the fashion that you refer to the wives and girl-friends of some expats. Don't hide behind an Avatar. Tell these prosperous bankers, lawyers, 'businessmen', military officeres, and your local mafia jaopaw that their minor wives and giks are whores! "Hey, Naaipon. Mia noi kong khun bpen man ii-dtuua." Let the Thai men know what your really think about their women and their society. Call these Thai men 'kon gae sokrabrok' (dirty, old men) like you refer to some expats, especially if there is a 20 or 30 year age difference. Don't mince words. Don't cop out. Man-up you guys! Put your Western self-rightiousness on display for the elite of Thailand to see, and light it up!!!

Absolutely agree with this post. the morality of the west should not be confused with the morality of the East. Thais historically are known to be incapable of a monogamous relationship from the highest elite down to the downtrodden surfs. Basically irrespective of their education levels their Dicks run their minds. Hence Dicks run this country and it will not ever attain status within ASEAN until things change.

Corruption in Thailand is the skimming of public money, usually in vast quamtities by people other than yourself. Once there is an overthrow of the system either by peaceful means or an army coup and the leaders then enjoy similar practices it is no longer perceived as corruption. In fact it is the expectation of enjoying such practices that generally has been the fundamental reason for such actions

So you see in simple terms ; It is only corruption when you don't enjoy those benefits yourself. When you do it is no longer corruption.

Nothing to do about morals. It was proposed solely by people that have active business interests in both the vending machines and the condom manufacture/distribution. On the other hand it was rejected by OBEC as they have no business interest and hence no back handers coming their way. Wait a few months and it will all be worked out so that the skimming is more proportional. Morals, ethics, unwanted pregnancies - total poppycock just hypocrisy where corruption rules the day.

The biggest problem is not the calibration/testing of the fuel station gauges rather the incompetence of the personnel. in my previous business I insisted that tyre pressure on my company vehicles were checked by competent personnel weekly. In 99.9% of the case where the operatives allowed filling stations to check their tyres they were over inflated by up to 30 %. No wonder so many accidents occur as over inflation does not allow tyres to "work" as they were designed..

Not of course that bothers most people here as they have no idea of what there tyre pressures should be. They have no comprehension as to the safety aspects anyway. This is not just a Thai problem as even so called HSEQ Farang executives, who purport to push individual safety to their own personnel, I have found to be totally ignorant of their own vehicles tyre pressures so what chance the locals have in driving safely is anyone's guess.
