I think ultimately most would not seek out a snake to harm it however if they found themselves in a situation whereby they or their family were possibly in danger then they would have to seek a way to resolve the situation which may involve killing it.
Totally agree. If i were to come accross a snake on my property first i would try and encourage it to leave. If it wants to stand its ground then that could become a danger to me and my family and would have to do whatever necessary to solve the problem. Killing it would always be an option for me.

Some news about Koh Phangan (and Donsak) projected airports. Sorry only Thai!
Basically almost a fight between KPG and Donsak on the major utility of their own airports
where can they fly to can they fly to bangkok if so i am up for it.
it might be 1 hours drive but u need a car then u have to park it there which if you are going away for a long time u shall not wish to leav it at the airport.
or get a taxi or go the night before stay in cheap hotel then taxi the next day.
the cost together is not much difference than bangkok airways. plus if you take your car u have about 600 baht for ferry the ssurat air port is abotu 130 mins to 2 hrs from donsak. so u have to leave 3hr s30 minutes plus 1 hour check in 4 hrs 30 minutes before
plus fue there and back
it is needed badly just because of bandit airways
now u can just jump on a boat and jumop off onto a plane unless it does not fy to bbk
I think you may have missed Tropics point, all the hassle and expense you mention trying to get to surat airport are still going to be there getting to an airport in Donsak with the exception of the 1.5 hour taxi.
I fly out from Samui around 5 times a year and its these hassles and time spent getting there that make me use Samui airport everytime. An airport in Donsak, Surat or even KPN still means me leaving my house at least half a aday (if not more) before i fly as apposed to a couple of hours.
I dont like the prices of BA like everyone else but until anyone can offer a significantly cheaper / easier / quicker option I will continue to use them.

I have a few bags, not amenable to local flight bag-limit conditions, so am wondering about bus or train travel, would it be Surat Thani I go to, or another place on the mainland, in order to get to Koh Samui easily?
Or are airline extra-bag fees not so bad?
Depending on how much time you have at the airport, try looking at sending your extra bags via bangkok airways freight sevice. If you have time it will probably be on the same plane as you. Not sure where the drop off point is at bangkok but pick up in samui is the old terminal. Surprisingly cheap and good service from Bangkok airways.

On the rare times that I go to Chewang. I park on the Lake Road near Macdonalds and then walk through to the Beach Road.
Me too, always space there and its really only mcdonalds that gets me to chaweng, which doesnt really say much for chaweng!

Yeah try Paddock 's online catalog in Bangkok. They can ship within the same day with the Bus...
Paddock will also let you exchange it if something doesnt fit, you just have to cover the postage. For obvious reasons probably not with helmets though.

Agree with posts 3 & 4. Disney Junior and CBeebies are both educational and also encourage activity not just sitting there watching aliens squash each other.

If the boat is registered then Port Authority in Nathon should be able to help. It is located on the seatran pier opposite where you buy pasenger tickets from in the undercover part.

Not sure if this is possible or legal but any chance you could buy them in Malaysia, drive there, have them change your wheels and drive back?

Dragged anchor onto reef, no real damage and noone on board. Think they are waiting for high tide tonight to float it back off. Thats not the one on Koh Som im talking about.

Very possibly. Best thing to do if you want shell oil is buy it from a shell fuel station. If it sounds too good to be true.... You know the rest!

A sad loss.

Koh Phangan Airport
in Koh Samui, Koh Phangan, Koh Tao
Posted
Thats exactly my (and Tropicalevo's) point, an entire airport is about to be built to save a 1.5 hour car / taxi ride. Doesn't seem worth it to me.
