Just do it. Do it now. Dont wait to save all that money, come and live the dream, but do keep us up to date as this has all the makings of one of the funniest threads for a long time. We could do with some light entertainment on here every now and then.

Fairways on road to airport - Big play area for kids. Chong Mon beach - gently sloping and shady areas on beach. Both big c and tesco have play areas.

Perhaps the OP would like to enlighten us of his past experiences.
They way I see this topic going , it is not going to last. I will give it the benefit of the doubt & see what happens.
...Or, you could just close it, give OP a warning for triolling and we can all move along.

Update.
Visited the shop outside Nathon yesterday. They are sellers of the FeelFree range of kayaks and have a few in stock. http://www.feelfreekayak.com/home/
They all looked pretty good to me and am tempted to buy - but don't live on the beach so not sure how easily/often I would use it. Prices start from THB 14,500 which seem comparable to UK prices, although here they do include the paddle, which is an extra elsewhere. Look more substantial that the ones you would hire from the beach - wheels, dry storage, wet storage, fishing rod gadgets etc. They say they can deliver today if I ring this morning, and then pay the driver.
The furniture shop next door looked pretty good too!
If you dont find what you want on the island you can order them direct via the website above. They understand english and can also deliver. I've done it before and good service.

It makes me laugh when people come here asking for advice then completely ignore it. Do yourself a massive favour and don't ignore the bit about not going home on a motorbike .

Anyone know of an on-line accessory shop with stuff for the S2? I'm specifically looking for a windscreen mount so i can use it as a gps in the car.
Or any other tips to stop it falling off the dashboard!!
Cheers
I would recommend looking at ebay. I have ordered all my accessories from ebay and they all came with free shipping to Thailand. Some came from Korea but most came from China.
Cheers have just ordered so will see how long it takes

Best way - private speedboat charter see liam at samui boat charter which is in the village. No such thing as a private beach in Thailand.

The race officials are good and well organised and do know what they are doing. A lot of effort goes into keeping the Thai regattas running that most of the time even the competitors don't realise

"What happen there?"
I think that is locally known as 'progress'
There are still many beaches in Thailand that are probably more what your GF had in mind. Unfortunately most (if not all) are no longer in the 'Tourist Paradise' Locations such as Phuket, Samui, Pattaya etc.
Surin beach used to be lovely as did Kamala and i dare say possibly Patong, but that would be way way before my time!!

Can't help personally but if you don't get many responses (and its not a well visited forum this one!) try googling iamkohchang and contact Ian. I know he likes his animals and he knows more about Koh Chang than most. If his guest house can't accomodate them he may well know someone who can. Good Luck!
-
If your around maenam then lazy coconut for sure . on a separate note hire a small car or jeep for you and your friends, not motorbikes. you can't compare riding a motorbike on koh Chang to doing it on samui by the size of the island.

Where ever 'Chef Nigel' is cooking.
He's American and knows how to do the classic spread yanks are used to.
But the OP's friends are from the UK, if they wanted something traditional for yanks they could just go to MacDonalds.
AHEM - the OPs friends are English - a subtle difference, as any Scot or Welshman will tell you . . .
R
Really? I only see that they are from the UK how do you know they are English?

"2 friends and i tried to get into into the car this morning to go wakeboarding at a lake about an hour outside Bangkok, but the electric locks would not open."
Perhaps next time try wakeboarding with a boat, not a car. I too find that lakes do all sorts of funny things to my car's electrics.
