My missus (we are not married but have been in a defacto relationship for 15 years) has sufficient funds to apply in her own right.

I submit HER application and I have found it easier to put her down as a housewife with no income. It makes the online form completion simpler IMO and I just back it up with my sponsor letter and supporting P60/bank statement.

Which is exactly what my wife and I did before we were married.

We provided details of our subsisting relationship, proving that we were in a relationship akin to marriage, and along with details of my income, our home in Bangkok and her income from a part time job in the family business she successfully applied for a number of UK and Schengen Visas.

It could be argued that a Thai wife living with their British spouse/partner here in Thailand has a better chance of Entry Clearance for a Visit Visa than a spouse of a British National who lives in the UK, as the ECO could believe, rightly or wrongly, that they intend to remain in the UK with their benefactor.

  2. @007 REDI think the flights shown could well be cargo flights, maybe they use the BA10 flight number to retain their slots.

I've certainly seen an aircraft at Suvarnabhumi with the BA livery fairly recently.

We’re very sorry, this flight has been cancelled.

Bump: So, two weeks this thread is up on the forum formerly called ThaiVisa and not a single person has responded to say that they have gotten a spouse visa in the past 13 months! Anyone know anyone who has gotten one? Or, anyone know anyone who knows anyone who has gotten one? Has the immigration system to the U.S. from here totally stopped?

Maybe, just maybe, there have been quite a few and they're now living in the US and don't bother reading, or contributing to this forum as often, or anymore.

Just a guess, I really don't know, have you had a look at Visa Journey, more generic than this forum though?

EDIT - I see that a previous poster has already mentioned Visa Journey, did you look at it?

How can you use it in the UK with the new 6 digit ATM number required ??  I acknowledge when it was only 4 digits my SCB card worked normally

I have an email which wont scan in but from SCB saying as soon as travel allows come into a branch and get it updated to six numbers (but that still rules out UK use subsequently)

Maybe my Debit Card has a lower or higher staus I have no idea ??

I used my six digit PIN in the UK, in an ATM and Sainsbury's, and it worked just fine.

Your children are British Nationals and as such don't require a visa or a TB Test, as they can travel to, and live in the UK at will.

As a matter of interest, for children who do require a visa the TB test would cost THB 3,800 per person. You will pay the clinic directly for the cost of your TB test. The cost of the test is in addition to the visa application fee.

The test fee does not cover treatment if you have tuberculosis.

Children under 11 who do not require screening will have to pay THB 500 per person as an interview fee.

Those children who the clinician decides will need screening will be charged the same fees as adults although they will not be charged the additional THB 500 interview fee - if the clinician decides that the children will need screening they only charge THB 3,800.

  6. I personally think your covering letter is too long and contains "information" that will not assist the ECO in reaching their decision.

The fact that you brought your wife a necklace and smart watches adds nothing to the application, neither does much of the other information, including the fact that you miss each other.

There's no need, in my humble opinion, to detail her travel history, or the fact she's provided copies of her previous passports, they will see them in her supporting doccuments, she's applying to settle in the UK so providing evidence of her previous return trips is of little value as she doesn't need to prove she'll return to Thailand.

You seem to meet the criteria, including financial and accomodation and that you've actually met, adding too much extra detail may well cloud the issue, she will of course need to supply evidence of her English and TB tests.

Tony M may well have a different view of your note, I would value his opinion over mine.

She will need to take a Day 2 test as the rules do not change until 04.00 11th Feb. She will also need to have completed a Passenger Locator Form.

    https://www.gov.uk/guidance/travel-to-england-from-another-country-during-coronavirus-covid-19#check-if-you-qualify-as-fully-vaccinated

Thanks for your input, the OP has already confirmed that his Sister in Law is fully vaccinated, has the day two test booked and has already completed the Passenger Location Form.

He confirmed all this in his opening post.

  8. There is often a problem with taking advice from a random person on a Facebook group regarding the vaccination and/or the testing requirements for any destination or transit country, though it could be argued that the same applies to this forum.

As she is travelling before 11 February, as you say she is fully vaccinated and has booked her test following arrival, so meets the requirements.

I'm not sure if Swiss Airlines have a testing requirement of their own prior to travel.

  9. No nothing has changed, though the advice given by the Border Force Officer wasn't strictly accurate.

When your girlfriend presents herself at the UK Border, she will still need to satisfy the Border Force Officer that she's still a genuine visitor who, on the balance of probabilities will leave the UK at the conclusion of her visit.

When she was approved for longer term Entry Clearance she would have satisfied the Entry Clearance Officer that she had a need to visit the UK over a longer period of time, she will still need to satisfy the officer of the above on each and every visit, though a refusal of entry would be unlikely unless there was a change of circumstances or the original application was fraudulent.

Whilst she would normally be allowed to remain in the UK for up to 180 days, there is no such rule that says that a person can only remain in the UK for 180 days in a 12 month period.

Turkish Airlines is another where I had to give up in the end. They have no office in Bangkok now and there was no way to get a response online or by phone.

I had no problem getting a refund from Turkish, I called their call centre in Istanbul and they offered a refund, and waited on the phone whilst the email confirmation came through, they did advise that it would take three months, and it was to the day.
