Excellent and these reports (previously no success) and now success would suggest that the new system is significant improvement.

I on the other hand had 100% success with the previous system, with an instant approval of every report since day one, maybe I was just lucky.

I recently reported using the new system, and whilst the receipt of report was acknowledged instantly, it took four days for the approval of my report to come through, I can live with that though.

  2. The conditions for which she could apply to extend her stay are extremely limited, https://www.gov.uk/standard-visitor/extend-your-stay

Those considering an application would take into account the reasons given for the trip in her original application, including her proposed length of stay, and her continuing ties to her home country.

I’ve taken the liberty of altering the title of your question, to give forum members a clue as to what you’re asking.

I think you've got time to get a new one issued.

I'd call the embassy to check on turn around times and if doable I'd get a new passport.

It doesn't take more than 2 months to get a new one (but because of the disruptions from 'the situation' I'd check with the embassy before doing so). You've got about 4 months before travel yes?

As a rule of thumb I would say its never good to travel on a nearly, or as in your case expiring passport in and out of countries, regardless of whether you can enter your passport country expired or not.

Whilst the OP may well have time to obtain a new passport, as has been correctly pointed out there is no requirement for a British Citizen to have six months remaining on their passport to enter the UK.

The current advice from the HMPO is that an applicant should allow ten weeks for a new passport to be issued, the UK Embassy are not involved in the processing and issuing of passports.

Whilst I agree that travellers should always be aware of the passport requirements for the destination country, I certainly wouldn't claim that it's a "rule of thumb" that you shouldn't travel on a passport with a limited validity.

I do have one caveat, the OP isn't clear how long the child will be staying in the UK, if returning to Thailand then a new passport can be applied for in the UK, providing they have time, an online application is considerably cheaper than applying from here in Thailand, if they are remaining in the UK they can apply there at their leisure.

can't stop the spread of covid but can curtail the infections caused by late night monger idiots jammed into keyhole bars.

because most will drink at home if the bars close at 9pm.

seriously, not rocket science, is it.

Bars are officially closed and according to media reports restaurants aren’t allowed to serve alcohol at all from tomorrow.

I do agree with your view regarding some of those who maybe had a little too much to drink being a tad too boisterous.

Paying sight unseen would seem to negate the whole reason for using COD in the first place, but I guess she has her reasons ????

Frightened of losing her new outfit I think, though to be fair she's never had a problem with anything she's ordered.

  6. @billd766I've made a number of international transfers via the K+ App, all have gone through without a hitch and without the need to visit the bank or supply any paperwork.

My last transfer via the App was for 116,000 Baht sent to Singapore, the exchange rate on the day was good and the fee was 250 Baht, the cash arrived the same day.

I wonder if they've changed their procedures?

Some retailers list goods without the COD option when they have no stock, the order will  automatically expire in due course and the refund goes to the wallet which you have to then claim back.

Not always, I ordered some items recently, paid for the items when I ordered, after a couple of days of being listed as "packed", the order was listed as cancelled and the cost was automatically refunded to my debit card a couple of days later.

My wife always orders COD, I think she has her personal driver, we're often out when the package arrives, that's why I don't use COD, she receives a call and pays the operative by bank transfer.

So it's not independent of any banks? I already have bank accounts with 3 other banks and don't wish to open another one just to transfer money.

So the only money transfer out of Thailand that is independent of any banks is still Dee Money?

A number of banks offer this facility, it's also on my Bangkok Bank App, though I've never used it.

The fact that you may not wish to open any more accounts maybe relevant to you, but the OP has an account with Kasikorn, and my responses were relevant to him.

That's interesting because I've never heard of K+? Can you give a link to it since it has better exchange rate?

I didn't claim it always had a better exchange rate, I said "my most recent transfers via K+ certainly had a better exchange rate and transfer fee that Dee"

You need to bank with Kasikorn, like the OP, and install their App https://www.kasikornbank.com/en/personal/digital-banking/kplus/functions/basic/Pages/international-transfer.html

We are talking about good exchange rates, banks have the worst exchange rate

I was responding to your statement "The only one that is allowed is Dee Money", which was incorrect.

The OP was asking about sending money from his Kasikorn Account via Wise, he never mentioned exchange rates.

As a matter of interest though, my most recent transfers via K+ certainly had a better exchange rate and transfer fee that Dee.

No, the Thai government makes it difficult for people to send money OUT of Thailand but sending money into Thailand is not a problem.

The only one that is allowed is Dee Money.

I wonder whether Dee Money is connected to the Thai government?

As well as Dee Money you can also send cash out of Thailand via some Thai Banking Apps, for instance I and a number of other members have sent cash out of Thailand via K+, as I mentioned a few days ago.
