I recently booked some flights on the Air Asia website using my Kasikorn virtual card, of course this means I don't have a card to show at check in. Does anybody know if I am going to have a problem when trying to board my flights? I cannot find anything in their terms and conditions, but it could be well hidden.
I suppose if I cancelled the card or didn't renew it I would be in the same position.
I note that I can check-in on line and print my own boarding pass, that could be a way round it if it's an issue.

I also had an enjoyable evening, it was good to meet a wide range of new people and catch up some I had met before.
Got told off when I got home, not because I was drunk, but because my hair and clothes smelt of second hand smoke, before anyone goes off on one - I am not complaining but I wonder how much The Landmark pays the powers that be so they can ignore the Thai laws on smoking
Big Toe, yes I paid your bar bill with the cash you left me, think I owe you 6 Baht, 165 ++, hope you are feeling better.
Looking forward to the next meet up.

I think the owner is actually a retired Blackpool landlady, the Brits will understand that

Their policy is disgraceful, I think they need to be named and shamed in the national press.
They say "no sex tourists", it's their business and I suppose they can implement their two faced moralistic policy. I would have thought that a foreigner is more likely to be a sex tourist than a local office worker, but the foreign "sex tourist" would be welcome and the local office worker would not be, as I say it's disgraceful.
I for one wouldn't subject my Thai friends to the humiliation of being turned away, oh and I suppose no Thai people would be allowed to work there or supply them.

The current rates are on the VFS website and seem to equate to 52 Baht to the GBP, they review the local price fairly regularly. It's a bit overpriced at the moment, but not by too much, I suppose they could and should change it daily like airlines do.

But this thread is about the increased cost of a visa to The UK.
-
BKK-KL-BKK for less than 1,500 Baht (all inclusive). Beat that.
Bangkok - Bali - Bangkok for 1,400 Baht, including all taxes, luggage and meals
-
If you look how much the longer term visas are going to be increased I don't know how they can justify it.
The fees are supposed to reflect the cost of the work involved in processing a visa, for the life of me I don't know how they can say there is more cost to UK Visas in processing applications for 2, 3 or 5 years visas.

I am retired but purchased a car on finance last year, though I did put down a 30% deposit. My girlfriend, who earns about 8,000 per month acted as guarantor, and they wanted my bank statements, it was all very painless. Yes, they kept the blue book but gave me a copy for police purposes.

You need to tell them the truth about your relationship, they will have the previous application on the system and she will have to declare it in the application, in any case you need to prove your relationship.
It could well be that her husband as already advised the visa section that he can no longer act as a sponsor for whatever reason.
You say she is waiting for her divorce to come through, if the divorce is not contested by either side it's just a case of both sides pitching up at the local Amphur and signing a paper, takes a few minutes.
Regarding the payment of money relatives and the view that it might be a reason to return, the ECO might take the view that she could send more cash to her family if she were living and working in the UK.
Good luck

Strewth, I was thinking at least a general anaesthetic

If you want real queues try New York, Miami and the like.

This gets me every year, last year I was 8,000 miles short, and would have hit it last week if not for the re-set. If its just the lounge you want, get an Amex or Citi Thai Airlines co-branded credit card, or a K-Bank Platinum credit card. All allow access to the TG Biz Class lounge at Suwanabpumi.
I use a platinum Amex/Thai Airlines linked card, but I cannot use it to access business class lounges. Can you give me any reference in print of this? Then I can wave it under their noses the next time I fly.
I also have the platinum Amex/TG card and haven't been able to use the lounge either. Would also love any confirmation that this is the case, as I can't find it in my Amex handbook.
Still have my Amex/Thai handbook, lounge access is not mentioned.

The AA website has been painfully slow all day but I persevered and got two flights back to the UK at the end of the year for 31k bht, thats just under 16k bht each. Add on the 3k BKK to KUL return and 19k seems a pretty good deal these days.
Are they return flights to UK or one-way?
You can do either

I suppose those buying property would benefit from these deals, though I think they would need to retain some sort of media advertising, probably not those glossy covers on the newspapers, otherwise how would prospective buyers be aware of what's on offer? Not sure how you dirctly market those who might be looking for property.

Have just booked a bargain flight with Air Asia for 1,400 Baht each, including supplements, can anyone suggest a decent resort with a good beach and nice restaurants. We will be there for a week in November so will take our brollies.
-
I got refunds recently on a laptop and a camera, neither of which were in the boxes.
You can only get Baht in cash, you can change airside if you wish, I think you can have the refund credited to your crdit card account.
-
Has no one else had this problem dealt with?
-
Yes, but the price may go up and the flights might be full. We booked the other evening and paid 6,600 Baht for two people, a friend left until the following morning and paid 5,200 for one person.
You always take a chance when leaving it late, you might strike lucky but you might not.

Thanks for the heads up, I have just booked a trip to Bali for the two of us in November for 2,820 Baht, including meals and luggage.
Thanks again

To be fair on Thaiair.com you can, on the main page of the thaiair website http://www.thaiair.com/ there is a section at the bottom called "happy all the way" it alternates between the offers, including the one in question.

I have just booked a flight with Bangkok Airways for April, they were the cheapest at 3300 Baht return on the days I wanted, Nok were the most expensive.
Pleased to note the last post.

I applied for Thai Amex Credit Card last year, directly not via the global transfer scheme, I am retired so do not have a work permit, the card was granted and issued in a couple of weeks.

You seem to have two threads running on the same subject, you might like to close one to avoid confusion and repetition.
