Why not release the ages of the people dying, I think that has a lot of relevance on this disease, i.e. one size does not fit all.
We hear of how many people get infected, but not how many have recovered, i.e. there are two sides to the coin, why are we only being shown one side, all the time ?
Why you do not find that out yourself ?
Just type in: corona casualties UK .. and you can see all yourself.

You sir, are appalling. The British people are in this mess due to your indecision.
And now, the beloved NHS is up to the highest bidder. Disgusting.
With an extra donation of 350 million pounds a week since Brexit, the NHS should be the richest health organisation in the world.

UK's Johnson says record COVID-19 death figures are appalling

LONDON (Reuters) - British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said Wednesday's record deaths from COVID-19 are "appalling" and the death toll is likely to keep rising in the next few weeks because of the spread of a new, more infectious variant of the virus.
Britain reported a record daily number of deaths with 1,820 people dying within 28 days of a positive coronavirus test.
"These figures are appalling," Johnson told Sky News. "It is true that it looks as though the rates of infection in the country overall may now be peaking or flattening, but they are not flattening very fast and it is clear that we must keep a grip on this."

-- © Copyright Reuters 2021-01-21Thanks to the "Happy Handshake" program and complete ignorance in the beginning of the pandemic, the UK has now the highest mortal casualties caused by corona in the world.
Thanks to being an island, the UK had a delay of 4-8 weeks compared with the rest of Europe, and especially Italy. Instead of using it, Mr Boris the Liar had to promote himself.
UK: 93.290 , population = 68,076,63 = 137,04 per million
USA: 404.812 / 332,066,237 = 121,91 per million
Brazil: 212.831 / 213,258,918 = 99,80 per mln
Italy: 83.681 / 60,443,615 = 138,44 per million = the first, so had to learn all
Spain: 54.637 / 46,762,221 = 116,8 permln
France 71.652 / 65,311,522 = 109,71 per mln
Germany 50.010 /83,906,168= 596,06 per mln

Nearly 40% of Flemish would vote for independence
only 40 % ? Have nothing to win. The Scots: 60 % + Have a lot to win, especially when Northern Ireland joins in.

will that be before or after Flanders gains independence from Belguim
Why Flanders would search for an independence from Belgium ? They already can do in their territory, what they want. Even a 2x non-Belgium government for 550 days... nobody cares. And the connection to their EU neighbours... such a fortified border, impossible to cross.... ( thanks to a pub as if they did not make this border for tourists, nobody would notice)

What do you think of the Gaelic Confederation, more-or-less as Belgium is now with 4 identities. Thanks to Eire, they are all inside the EU on the moment that treaty is signed.

As others have pointed out, the deal was only finalised literally days before the new arrangements were to come into place so they didn't really have much time to prepare but in any event, the exporters are not saying the delays are due to them not having the paperwork ready, it's because of things such as, "a shortage of customs agents on both sides" and the requirement to have, "vets checking the loads," along with the time, effort and money it takes to prepare the paperwork even if you know about it, plus the time it takes for it to be checked.
These are exactly the kinds of non-tariff barriers that the much-maligned "experts" had always predicted would be one of the main problems with any post-Brexit deal, rather than actual duties or tariffs.
Nonsense. When this Brexit deal was not completed, the British would even have more "fishy"problems, like also an import duty. The veterinary paperwork, should have been known since 1974

Sounds exactly like the predictions that were labeled as “Project Fear” by Brexiteers. No wonder they have already moved from “Project Fear” to “you had enough time to prepare”.
Every person in the fish ( dairy, meat, poultry) industry in the world knows, when you want to export these products into the EU, you have to pass a veterinary inspection. When your company has an EU allowance number, you can get when an by the EU appointed auditor gave your premises an O.K., this all lasts more time as transport between EU member countries. The UK, for 47 years a member, should know. 4.5 years to prepare. What you want more ? Oh... an honoust government and NOR a Boris the Liar... o,.k. but you have brains yourself also I presume.

Why criminal prosecution ? Just followed - yes, too narrow-sighted - regulatrions & laws, which were ratified in Dutch parliament. The fault is digged up by two members of two different parties in Dutch parliament.
Oh.. first read 10% and imagined the other 90 % extra ?
How many governments would do the same as acknowledgement of their mistakes ?

The whole brexit referendum compelling argument was the right to self-determination (and freedom from "foreign shackles").
This fits quite well the right of Scots to determine their future. And I find Brexiteers a bit hypocritical to deny this right to the Scots, obviously the situation is completely different since they had their Independence referendum 6 years ago.
By then, the threat was "if you vote for independence you'll be out of the EU". Now it's the very opposite: independence will allow the closer relations to the EU that Brexit has denied.
Very probably not to become a EU member or use the € right away, but it would be quite quick to rejoin the European Free Trade Association nations and access the single market
EFTA died, when the British decided to look ONLY at their own interest. They then also dumped the Australian and New Zealand farmers. Norway, Iceland and Switzerland are very narrowly connected with the EU. Time to learn your history of the last 50 years. Maybe form a coalition with the islands of Man, and the Channel Islands (hahaha) ?

How the English want to stop a Scottish referendum ? By sending in the army, like Lord Kitchiners' ?
When Scotland form a (con)federation with Eire, ( and maybe also Ulster and Wales), just like Belgium is, they are in the EU in a second ( just like all French overseas territories are )

It’s a sad fact that the government in Edinburgh are crossing their fingers and hoping for failure so they can try to score political points, instead of doing their job and giving the Scottish fishing industry all the necessary resources.
“Funding provided to the SNP for Brexit preparations, alongside funding for business support in general, have gone unspent. The SNP are doing the bare minimum and it’s creating huge issues.https://dailybusinessgroup.co.uk/2021/01/snp-hindering-fish-exporters-to-score-brexit-points/
When the British negotiators had accepted to follow EU veterinary rules ( and food safety, so FSA, BRC etc were also mutually accepted), there would not have been any problem, not for fish, for meat, for poultry and eggs, for diary.
Has NOTHING to do with the SNP

USA and Canada sell much seafood to the EU and Asia for decades. They can deliver fresh shellfish including lobster to EU overnight. Maybe lady from SNP should concentrate on this and not her dreams of a magical land where she can be princess.
See my earlier comment: get an EU fish allowance number, and get passed the EU veterinary control. As ALL WTO-third countries do for decades.

What is the problem ? The British fishermen are in control of their waters, exactly as they insisted.
As everybody in the fish industry knows already for decades: when you want to export fish(products) from a WTO-Third country into the EU, you first have to get an EU fish allowance number. You can get it, when your facility is inspected and approved by an EU appointed auditor. Without this approval number, the EU veterinary inspectors will NOT inspect your fish, and it will not be allowed into the EU.
Oh, the British fishermen forgot this the last 5 years, as they relied on Boris the Liar and his Brexiteer-team who al were NOT interested in details, details, details, only: Brexit is done?
( buy-the-way: about same problem for dairy, poultry, and all meat. I wish the British farmers and processing industry much luck)
Who burns his bottom, must sit on the blisters.

He is right that most Europeans don't want to visit the UK. I mean there are over 400 million Europeans. Only 6.9 million visited the UK. (google is your friend). 18 million Brits visited Spain. So it seems that the UK is not really that liked by Europeans compared to other countries.
Even the Netherlands has more tourists from the EU then the UK.
Not making any comments on the food as that is taste depended. But the weather is for me and others important. The UK has the same crappy weather in general as the Netherlands.
Not so difficult to cross the heavily defended and uncrossable borders between the EU member states. So, Belgians or Germans to Netherlands... Venlo, just on the Dutch side, if often more a German shopping cit. Buit also the way around: we from Breda often go to do shopping in Belgium. To the UK you always have the Channel to cross. And the weather is even lousier as in continental Europe. And as last: a strange currency. So, why to visit UK ?

THE problem in a two-party state ( USA, UK) is: it is OR us, OR the other = our mortal enemy.
For us in Western Europe democracy = the majority decides, but will never forget the wishes, ideas, and interests of the minority as after the election, we might need THEM again in a coalition.

In fact, only specialists should form every government, never nitwits politicians. Political parties should push THEIR specialists forward, or those specialists they have confidence in. NOT somebody, who is as loyal as a dog to his master, and won a seat in his/her constituency. Consequence: a minister can no longer be a member of any political party. Parliament = political parties, and strength based on election results, should form a program = target, check and balance the decisions of these specialist ministers + hold "the wallet".
NOT a nurse, of nitting teacher on "Roads and Dykes", as we had two times in the Netherlands.
