The Reuters' report fails to mention Thailand, Myanmar's closest neighbor. If China is supporting the Myanmar junta, and the west is supporting democratic factions, where does Thailand stand?

Does anyone know the name of the Chiang Mai shelter cited in the article?

The question arose AGAIN last week when I extended my one-year Non-O visa.
Again it was resolved that Non-O visa holders are NOT required to have health insurance.
By all means get coverage, but do it for yourself because it's the wise thing to do.

Just got a replacement Visa Card from the US. It took 10 days using
USPS Priority Mail.

"Hundreds of protesters were reportedly killed on June 4, 1989, when Chinese troops launched a crackdown on a largely peaceful rally for basic rights being held in the Beijing square."
Why "reportedly?"

I did 90-day report in Jomtien two weeks ago. Was not asked about 800,000 baht.

Thanks Joe. It's the 800k one at Jomtien.
Did my initial 90-day yesterday at Jomtien. Did NOT need to show passbook
or proof of 800,000 baht in bank. In and out in (literally) 1 minute!

A green light should only ever be considered as a "proceed with caution" especially here in Thailand.
And a red light should be considered as a suggestion to stop...or at least slow down.????

Does anyone know which (if any) markets carry dog biscuits?
I have checked all the major supermarkets and several pet
shops; nothing. In fact, no sales people were familiar with the
item.
Thanks

Maybe if the Mayor issued another press release incorporating all of the above thoughts, criticisms
and concepts.???? (We know how receptive Thais are to suggestions from farang.)

No problems. I renewed both of my 5-year licenses last month in Pattaya; they had expired in July.
You have one year's time to renew following expiration date.
Johng is right on both points: No medical certificate needed in Pattaya, and the Regents School office seems to be crowded every day.
On the other hand, my wait was about three hours (forms, eye tests, etc.). Driving to Sri Racha or Sattahip would involve about the same amount of time plus extra petrol.

What about those of us who do not own a house so have no house registration card?
How do we comply?

Go for it, Yank. Udon is my favorite city in Thailand with the nicest people and an easy way of living. If it were seaside I would be there in a New York minute. Lots of farang of all ages. Lots of nice places to hang out and meet people. Enough P4P to satisfy virtually anyone. Less expensive than other major cities; more quiet, prettier. And right now (every Dec. 1 to 15) there is a sensational celebration that draws tens of thousands of people from all over the area. A must do.
Good luck.

Sorry, but seems a kind of mute point to me since a lot of the plane is made of plastic and the trip just added to the greenhouse gases !
The point also is rather moot

The "rain storm" totally missed the grass and
everything else in Pattaya this morning. Been
waiting months for the onset of the monsoons.
What Climate Change? ????

Is this finally the onset of monsoon rains for eastern provinces?
Or just a couple more days of rain?
