I wish there were tougher laws for people, who let their dogs bark outside their home 24/7. Here in Bangkok I have a neighbour just 20 metres away, who has a dog that for years has been been preventing me from having a good sleep, as all night it is constantly barking about 10 seconds apart. I guess that it was also quite cute as a puppy, but to fall asleap, I am counting barks instead of sheep, which is not working very well.

Maybe they are checking, if all tourists in the Samui Sandbox are doing their overpriced mandatory tests, which is needed for the country to survive? -

Seems like the monthly brown envelopes to Police and Immigration died together with the husband. -

Stop requiring fully vaccinated persons to get tested again and again. This is just another ridiculous way to extort the tourists.- 288 replies

CCSA warns COVID infections may surge in October if guard lowered
Xonax replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Lockdowns and vaccinations are not just for protecting people from being infected with Covid 19. It as a very important measure, to prevent hospitals running out of capacity for Covid patients and all other kinds of patients. Do you really expect, that people will be willing to live under normal conditions, if they are unable be treated in hospitals, in case they should get sick or involved in an accident?? -
Thailand to procure 200 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines next year
Xonax replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Procurement of 200 million doses in 2022 for a population of 70 million people, of which no more than 50 million will ever be vaccinated. That is enough for 4 boosters per person in only one year. Are they planning to resell it for a profit, or make Thailand the worlds holiday-hub for vaccine-tourists? -
Combined use of AstraZeneca and Pfizer jabs starts in October in Thailand

I was up for my 2nd dose of AZ at Phyathai 2 on 20th September, but have just received a SMS, that I have now been rescheduled to 6th September. They seem to have plenty of vaccine and capacity, so please check your SMS or email regularily. -
To me both the first registration date and the model year (especially if any significant changes or upgrades) matters. I once bought and received a new car on December 28th and the seller promised, that there would no problem with the car having a first registration date in the following year. But after 2 months on red plates, I received the blue book, which clearly stated first registration date as December 28th - the date I had received the car. Having learned from this episode, I will never again buy a car at the end of a year, as it certainly did hurt the value, the day I needed to sell it again. Car buyers in Thailand are looking at the first registration date only, to determine how old a car is, meaning that a matter of just few days, can make the car a year older. On 1st january in any year, all cars will suddenly become a year older.

Thailand cites positive results from Sinovac-AstraZeneca vaccine formula

The best booster after 2 Pfizer shots, will probably be a mild or unsymptomatic Corona virus infection. -
Thailand cites positive results from Sinovac-AstraZeneca vaccine formula
Xonax replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Why? Sinovac is the only vaccine available for countries without proper planning and management. Sinovac is still better than the alternative = no vaccine. -

It is not safe to cross the road anywhere in this country. Even if a car stops for you in a zebra crossing, any second motorbikes could be passing at high speed on both sides of the car. I will simply ignore a car stopping to let me cross the road, also in a zebra crossing, unless I have a clear view behind that car.

Talk is cheap. Do they have the capacity to inoculate 10 million people per day in the last week of December? -
Thailand strives to elevate tourism industry striken hard by pandemic
Xonax replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thailand is not in a position, where they can select, who they would like to spend their holiday here. In my universe all tourists should be treated as quality tourists. If the tourists are being are treated good and fairly, they may even consider to return again one day, or spread heartwarming words to their friends about Thailand. Thailand do have quite a few quality resorts and hotels which could attract rich tourists, but as soon as they leave the gated premises, the real Thailand hits them right in the face. Taxi- and TukTuk scams, double pricing, pollution, garbage and dirt everywhere, unfriendly agressive locals and harassing sellers and touts everywhere. Off course not all Thais see tourists as cash cows only tolerated because of their money, but in general there will have to be an attitude adjustment to take place, before the tourists all can leave happy and satisfied. What happened to the Thailand we used to know as "The Land of Smiles"? A true smile has to be from the heart!
