Thais will quickly turn any vacant land into a garbage dump. A soi in our local area has looked during the many years I have lived here. The piles of garbage are just getting higher and higher. Squatters are also occupying abandoned houses in the same soi. The RTP is often seen in the area, so the officials in charge will know all about this problem.

Unfortunately many the responsible persons are lazy and find it easier to just leave the red flags out every day outside the high season. Also on the good days, where swimming should be allowed. This will naturally lead some tourists to ignore the red flags, as they have most likely travelled a long way to get to swim at the beach. When beaches are closed on both bad and good days in the low season, tourists should be provided with this information, before they decide to travel to Thailand.

Here in Bangkok, if a car stops to let pedestrians cross the road, often give the pedestrians a false safety, since motorbikes and even other cars most often will attempt to overtake the stopping car on both sides.

Dual pricing is a perfect way to reduce the number of visitors. I thought that they wanted to increase the number of foreign visitors to Thailand. If they want foreign tourists to pay more, they could charge a tourism tax, but also that would make some tourists avoid Thailand. The real problem in Thailand is, that all hotels are targeting foreign tourists who better can afford the higher prices, which makes the price of prime location land and property go up.

The Thai Baht is NOT weak! It is just the US Dollar that is becoming stronger against all other currencies. The reason is, that USA is expected to be able to control the rising inflation better, than most other countries.

If Thailand don't buy the cheaper russian oil, other countries probably will. Thailand can not afford to participate in the western countries proxy war against Russia. Some tourists may consider not to spend their holiday in Thailand, but their own countries are probably still buying oil from Russia as well.

Thailand is cheap and dirty. High-end you only find in high-end resorts and condo's. As soon as you move outside your resort/condo reality will hit you right in the face. Tourism in Thailand is all about getting as many tourists as possible to gather in an area as small as possible.
