  1. I totally agree. Stop ripping off the tourists and many of them will be returning.
  2. Who wouldn't dream of spending their holiday in a resort in Thailand together with Malaysian, Indian, Arab, Chinese, and Russian tourists, of which many have no civilized manners?
  3. Who wouldn't feel a bit stressed in such a situation?
  4. That's a bit harsh. I would say; do not trust unknown foreigners and ladyboys.
  5. If Thailand really wanted tourists to trust them, they should immediately stop the common practice of charging higher prices for foreigners. Thailand has become way too expensive, when tourists are being heavily overcharged, not only in national parks, but almost everywhere they go, with exceptions like 7-eleven and other shops with same prices for all. Overcharging is not how you make tourists wish to come back in the future. The constantly postponed tourist tax is just a drop in the ocean, in comparion with the common overpricing of foreigners.
  6. At least they can rejoice that they have plenty of water for another crop
  7. and the tourist arrivals will continue dropping.
  8. Why has he not previously been deported??
  9. The same thing is happening all over Thailand. Tourists are being overcharged everywhere they go. If TAT is reading this article, they might be able to figure out, why the tourist numbers are declining. Tourists with just a little bit of common sense, would not consider to return to a country, where they are always seen as easy targets for overpricing.
  10. I was introvert already before coming to Thailand, but it has definitely gotten much worse. I like to go out to restaurants and shopping in malls, but all the extremely noisy and inconsiderate people makes me soon longing to go home again. Many shopping malls and supermarkets even have speakers always blasting loud advertisings from a person with a shrill voice. People in bar areas tends to become louder and louder the more they drink, so that's a no go for me.
  11. To secure water for rice farming, again and again seems to be way more important, than to prevent flood damage of peoples properties! Could the disaster authorities also be the owners of rice fields?
  12. That's some serious ammo. Maybe for self defence after all the bad publicity.

  14. A reasonable price is exactly the price buyers are willing to pay!!
  15. Thailand is happily welcoming them all and don't realize that attracting certain demographics, will scare other demographics away.
  16. Senior cards for BTS are only available for people with Thai ID-card!
  17. If grabbing a gold necklace off a tourists neck was considered pickpocketting, Pattaya would probably be higher ranked!
  18. What a horror story! I wonder if the doctor have ever heart of Febrile Convultions which is not uncommon among smaller children having a fever and should be treated by removal of clothes and eventually a Diazepam suppository!
  19. I wonder how they will be able to tell, when using a Thai issued bank card to pay, whether you are Thai or a foreigner and over or under 60 years old! But I am quite sure that they have thought hard of how to exclude foreigners from this deal. So far foreign seniors have been excluded from getting the senior fare from BTS, while MRT has allowed it.
  20. Will the 100,000 Baht fine only apply to foreigners, while the thais will just get a slap on the wrist?
  21. I support the idea, but last time they tried this a few years ago, it was simply impossible to find sunscreen labelled "Reef Safe" or "Reef Friendly" in any shop in Thailand.
  22. Lucky for him, that he didn't get his ass kicked hard by the security personel.
  23. The trick is to open the windows, if the car is being submerged, to let water flow into the car, so you can open the doors. But that's not possible without electricity in most modern cars (ICE and EV). Make sure to keep a small hammer with you in the car, so that you will be able to break the windows in case of emergency.
  24. So the thief are being praised for his honesty - after being caught!
