i was in a rush when booking my flight, and not 100% if i dropped a gooly?
i am hoping to get a 90 day non-imm-o for married to a Thai
seen a half decent price so booked, now i am looking my 90 day is near 91 days
does my day landing in Thailand count which is the 8th or the 7th when i turn up
at manchester airport. my reasoning goes if i was on a boat they only count
arrival in Thailand so same same but most of us have had issues at Airports
before. anyone know 100%. Cheers,

sorry as i cannot help, i have been looking for a non-imm-o and as i am in the UK i thought maybe
i can use the London Embassy (all other embassies are closed in UK) i checked all the usual places
there is some who have a tv report every day and they mentioned London....
i have read all i could find, and today i decided to give London a phone.....two hours twenty mins no answer ? just the repeated chant of ''hold on there will be one of our operators very soon''
then at exactly 12.30 pm the phone rang and rang on and on this was the morning 9--12.30 shift
tomorrow i will try 2pm ---5pm but somehow i do not think so..i notice on the London
embassy's internet site ''Siam Legal'' advertise the same visa but you pay £200 to start with
of course this help over the phone has no refund under any circumstances.
i would pay but no refund and after all it is very little they can do with a phone ?? unless they get
someone to answer it..... if anyone knows an easier way can you let us know. or even a number that gets answered. cheers,

They do. I've just been there to check for this service. Register (if required) and make the appointment across the road from the Emergency door which is currently being used as the main entrance.
yes i know now, but all your official lists quote banglamung ect no notice
if you go by the main info lists, everything half assed as usual.

i have had some crazy days of late, yes booked a flight with KLM to UK and between
Banglamung hospital not answering there phone (three hours nothing ?)
so i phoned the ''Health hotline'' eventually got an answer i asked can you help me contact Banglamung hospital, and got ''NO Hospital ''NO Hospital''
i spoke to a friend and he said why don't you go to Pattaya Memorial....but they do not
do the pre-flight Co-vid tests ? oh yes they do ? no info anywhere to let people know.
i checked on KLM for what is required and it said a PLF Form, so looked and could not see
where/when these forms can be found, could not find any anywhere.
so i phoned KLM yesterday, and asked that question, i was told we will put you through
ten mins later i phoned back, there is no one answering the number? ok i can give you
another number ? can you not find out and phone/email me. this time not no answer
no number rang, it is like they do not want to help. does any one know where/when can
i find this PLF, does any one have a link, can i get one at the Airport, Cheers.

just keep going to different branches until you find one that know what the hell they are doing there is no need to book plane tickets or cancel visas to send money overseas !!!!
well i argued for twenty mins and they (main branch Central Festival)
between the two who told me they could not deal with this and gave
me a note for the Arch Transfer's at Pattaya Klang... and i suppose they
will make my money disappear.. i have gone online and basically they
say you need to fill in a form and a bank employee has to sign,
this is to register a foreign Bank on my account.
very obvious that all these staff have been told to discourage as many
as possible, from what i found.
-
Well went to the bank and was informed that as i had a retirement visa i could not take all my money out , i had to leave the retirement money in
the bank, i explained i was leaving Thailand and my retirement visa was
not really their concern, and if i book a flight can i then withdraw my money, they then gave me a new bankbook and directed me to KK Pattaya Klang (yes the one where they transferred your money to their account) i told them none of this was explained or even mentioned when you go online to KasiKorn Banking they tell you you just need a form signed by one of the banks staff.
can i cancel my retirement visa and apply for 90 days and will they then allow me to transfer my money to my UK bank. any one have any knowledge of how/if this works. cheers.

i have had a quick look and have seen 22.6 (pounds) to 1000 baht, but no fee's mentioned ,and various other rates.
one was 1165 Bht to send 1000 Bht (i think it is a missprint but you never know here)
as this is a very big company and it is still advertised online,
has anyone had any dealings, cheers

The fact that other countries are also closing certain establishments only proves that the idiotic thinking is not confined to Thailand.
Again, I went yesterday to the Jomtien Night Market and I was surrounded by people. I went to Home Pro and Big C and was surrounded by people. I had lunch at the Black Canyon Cafe and was surrounded by people. We stopped at a Swensens and sat while we enjoyed an ice cream.
However all of those activities are permitted. It is only the bars that somehow can spread Covid. More ridiculous is that I can dine at a restaurant remove my mask, and take a drink from my glass or bottle of water. At the same restaurant, I can not take a drink if that drink is is bottle of beer or glass of wine. You give the pretense that somehow it is more difficult to control people inside a small bar. Have you been to the meat counter at Makro recently. Do you see anyone trying to control the social distancing as the people at times are shoulder to shoulder selecting their meat from the coolers.
But don't let this common sense get in your way of trying to justify your preconceived bias that somehow the serving of alcohol somehow is more risky.
This is a picture I took yesterday on the second floor outside the Big C Extra in Na Kleu
Now please tell me how this activity fully permitted is somehow less prone to spread Covid than allowing people to either dine and have an alcoholic beverage or sip a beer inside a bar. These patrons not only are close to each other but exposed to hundreds of people as they pass by them inside the mall on their way to Big C, Home Pro or any of the other second floor locations.
me and the wife walked down by the beach and were flabbergasted to
sea people being arrested for sitting on the beach in a group, and then
they placed them (about 16) in a police truck ? they were more crowded
in the truck than they were on the beach??? This was last year and maybe they have learned but i wonder if a police man would question
their methods, i have made the mistake of asking Thai people for directions when not sure when driving, most will tell you anything rather than admit they do not know....TIT.

in the land of brake failures that is impressive ..
No habe flee .. F'errang pay now ..
just phoned Bangkok Hospital Pattaya, after being told the four sites where
Farangs can register and receive their free Vaccination...
every thing was ok until i asked about Vaccinations, and i mentioned free and farang in the same breath...
.errr what ? oh no have
maybe one of the other sites can do ? errr maybe next year...
i rang the ''Pattaya health hotline'' and informed them that the the information
they were giving was not correct....oh i do not have that information well can you
stop giving B P H as a place that does free farang Vaccinations.
just another U turn in the land of U turns. i think i might try the other sites but 99% sure it will be similar but more drawn out, may let the foolish farang register,
the wife went very quiet ? wonder if i can use this in the future ?

finally the hub of U-turns, and the showman running the show looking worse
every day, sad state of affairs in the Land of scams.

It might be a good idea to call your local IO to check what they require, being as every office has their own rules on various requirements regardless of what the official rules say.
always best to check a couple of months before, got caught by Covid-19 last
year where the rules were changed between me and the next Farang, and the fee went up by 500%....found out all lies after i checked...TIT.

There are those who would say that 2mTHB, is what he owned up to after greasing multiple palms... One thing which is true in my experience is that however bad you think the corruption problem in TL is, it's worse, it's a way of life.
same as some Farang bars in jomtien, been watching their GF padding beer bins, where we live it has been going on for years, very friendly, until they get
caught ? then its the girl not them...i hear it is the talk of the Thai people who
work at the Condo complex. if you are a bit merry and visit their bar. you might be next. it might be on a smaller scale but these SC*M have been at it for years.

i use a Baht bus four or five times a week, most drivers do not know how to drive
they hit the gas then slam on the brakes like a kid driving one them old go 'karts
it is obvious they have never passed any ''test''

Exactly why I abandoned my fantastic 5 y.o. 2 storey palace in Saraphi that I designed & built & that was perfect in every way, making almost no profit and, took my wife and daughter & got the living hell out of Thailand for ever in 2013. The corruption, terrible driving and all the other immigration B/S was one thing - but the foul air was the final straw. Diagnosed with throat cancer upon arrival back in Oz, the fifth such non-smoker to have the same illness (T1 laryngeal cancer) caused, according to my specialist on the Gold Coast, from long-term exposure to filthy air. I lived in LOS for nearly thirty years, mostly in "Changers" and, saw the air degrade from average to terrible in LOS, in only ten years. I had to endure three months of radiation treatment - but I'm alive. It is 2200 hours here in Oz - I just wandered outside to take a pee, as we live in the bush. Crystal clear clean air. Paradise. Then I turned on my computer to look at T/V. I'm not at all religious, but I thanked God. The poor silly dill, a very wealthy man also from Oz, who spent four times the money I spent on a two storey home, to build a single storey bungalow opposite my old house in Saraphi, lives in total denial. He'll get the picture too, when he starts coughing.
Last year i went as usual to visit my wifes family on the outskirts of Udon Thani when her
nephew picked us up from the Airport i noticed he had a bad cough, when we got to the
house (about 1 hour drive from Udon center) and i noticed the wifes youngest girl had a
bad cough ? i never connected them until the next day , i had developed a sore throat , i
also started to smell something and within a week i had a cough ? about 10 days later
i was sometimes spitting blood, i moved to Udon Town ,to a hotel as i had 1/3 of my left
lung removed ten years ago through lung cancer (i smoked up till then)
the only other farang in the village openly bragged he burnt plastic bags and other waste
on a regular basis (he told everyone he had gone to medical school and acted as though
he knew everything about anything). at night you can watch flames from the ground to
the sky its like a disaster movie with everything bar this wall of fire... pitch black smoke.
i steer clear of this place now and only stay for one night and then we move away from
the village and the smoke, i know one lad who has just built a house not far away but i
have not seen him for a while and it was to late to tell him, so not much i could do.
sad state of affairs all in all, as even with air purifiers, you would have to limit your exposure

I think it's fair to say that people who fall for such a 3.5% per month scheme aren't familiar with the concept of due diligence. In fact it is such an outrageous offer that you don't even need to do due diligence and can dismiss it outright, halfway through through the pitch.
Still it's an interesting hypothetical question. I don't think a customer service rep at their call center would flag this. They would probably just assume it has been a misunderstanding. If the same rep has to deal with several similar calls within a short period of time, on the other hand, then who knows!
i got a message from my internet provider informing me i had not paid for three months, i checked online , and all the payments had been paid, i made copies and sent them to 3bb
next month i got another message that i had not paid?
i contacted (K K) and asked what was going on ? they told me the payments had been made.
after about six weeks of trying to get any explanation, i went into my account and canceled
the payments, while doing so as i went through the details i spotted a mistake in the direct debit were it asked for I D number were it should of asked for membership/customer number, i phoned the bank and informed them of the error, i think if i had not sorted it , it would be the same today, i was told that when a mistake happens someone looses face so
they tend to ignore these things...who knows...deffo not the same as the real world.

i have had two iffy incidents with the banking system in Thailand over about 17 years ,
one was with the branch ( Pattaya Klang ) a year ago when i was instructed to visit
this branch as it is also the center for KK international and i heard that they could assist
with my search for the correct Code for my fund transfers that would be acceptable to
Immigration...i went and was pointed up the stairs where two Thai ladies sat and i asked if it was possible to get FFT on my transfers...one lady just asked outright ''what will you pay'' i replied ''that depends what are you offering'' (i did not know if she was joking) so i just asked can you show me and she showed on her screen funds in and out from my account.
she again seemed more interested in what i would pay, so i said bye and walked out, when she mentioned money again, and to be honest i do not think she knew what i was asking
for ?
the other time i used my Credit card (uk as i had heard it was safer) but only used it in Bank
and their Atm's and i got a message my card had been cloned? cash withdrawn several times for little amounts in Vietnam, i did phone my uk bank and the money was returned to my account within 7 days...same bank on both times.
-
on the day and for weeks afterwards, when it was reported world wide that a rocket propelled grenade was fired in the carpark of the main airport in Bangkok ,(red shirt v yellow)
the Thai Baht did not alter in regard to other currencies ( i think the uk had pictures of MP,s sleeping in Parliament)
gave up on trying to figure money exchange rates and any ''logic'' in Thailand.

Yep, you can forget that most likely, Hope you manage get your money back though!
i hope your not with Air-Asia, i could not get any information on up dated code red travel
restrictions, so i went to Immigration in Udon Thani, and was told by the head guy that
we could not fly, we spent the next morning trying to get all the vouchers/credit/refunds that
were offered we had read about when we booked our flights.
AWA is what you contact if you go on facebook to get customer service it is an Artificial intelligence machine that is not fit for purpose, four hours going around and around ...
i am done with these ''All in it together'' well we are all in something not very good thats
for sure...best of luck but it always seems to be the punter who looses out with these cheap
airlines... prices have doubled and still no refund/credit. and now no phone to call them?

i have mainly had decent trips with Baht Buses' and taxi's but like a lot the iffy ones are the ones that stand out the three girls pickpocket gang who jumped off the baht bus when i called them out as they tried to rob me , the driver just shrugged,
a few years before i visited Udon Thani with the wife, and near chocked with laughter when
the cycle sam- lor accelerated away from the shopping mall with my 70 baht change...
he looked about ninety and it was so funny as he escaped in ''slow motion''
and being the eternal optimist back in Pattaya i gave a driver 100 baht by the school /temple
junction and he stood on the gas to make a clean getaway, over 18 years.
so thats a bad un every six years. i have my own friendly Baht bus driver, who we call same
for Taxi where ever we are in Thailand, its better and far cheaper than the UK. and the laughs
are well worth the price.

our flights back to Bangkok and our taxi to Chon Buri are booked the wife has had a few
calls saying we cannot go back to where we live ? my visa needs renewing in the next ten
days .....are we now allowed to stay in Udon Thani without a visa ? and obviously i will not
have to pay my rent as i am not allowed to go there ? The wife has had a call from her family
so after two months we will have to stay until i get locked up for overstay ? what is absolutely necessary ?
-
ok not sure if i will be ''out of the frying pan'' ''into the fire'' we are booked to land
Don Mueang Airport on the 6th of January, i have booked a ride and should be
in pattaya about 11 pm , if needed i might cancel our flights
but i also have an extension of stay as my (retirement visa) extension expires
on the 15th of January , i did see some phone numbers but cannot locate them
is there a helpline because if possible i would do my extension up here. but i do
not know if it is do-able as my proof of residence is a Jomtien adress....
anyone have the number or info..cheers
