  1. Living near a temple is a big risk. Sometimes, it might be quiet. But if the head monk changes or something like that, the speakers might start blasting. I wouldn't take th6at risk, ever!
  2. Yes. I experienced this myself last couple of weeks. I did some transfers from Australia to my BKK Bank account - monthly expenses were almost immediately. But Purchase of Property, it was always the following day at 12:43 pm sharp! The option long stay is not available any more. So, to get the International stamp, had to choose Purchase of Property. Apparently, weekends it seem to delay. More info
  3. Please compare my post and your quote. Thank you.
  4. Foreign 'Mafia' Harass Tourists in Pattaya, Taunt Local Police... I guess he is just marking time until he meets a special cop!
  5. It is very surprising that always when something like this happens, a battalion of Thai haters start accusing that the Thais do this and the Thais do that! So, does that justify that ALL foreigners should follow suit? In reality, we have to accept the fact that the Thais are in general clean - of course, there's always the exception to the rule, not only regarding Thais but any nationality. Another fact that we have to accept is, that the Indians aren't the most cleanest people on the planet - again, there are exceptions to the rule. This, I have first hand experience on my visits to India and whilst having some Indian colleagues at work. If anyone is seen littering, it is the responsibility of anyone around to object to that, IMHO.
  6. A British woman sustained injuries from a boat propeller while diving near Island 7 on the Similan Islands. Would have been a very painful experience. I cant imagine how someone can get that close to a boat propeller - Getting knocked down by the bow of a boat is one thing. But the prop?
  7. Thank you. That's good. As I do have 800k in my BKK Bank Account. Will they email me a statement (if I request via the Mobile App) - which the immigration will accept?
  8. - Aus bank statement? Not the THB 800,000 in a Thai Bank?
  9. Would help if you listed your home country - Sri Lanka Will post his experience at some point - Thank you
  10. It seems now we have to apply for a retirement visa online, via The Thai Evisa Official website - https://www.thaievisa.go.th/ Has anyone done this recently whilst in your home country? How was the procedure - Smooth & clear? How long did it take for your visa to be approved. Thank you in advance for the info.
  11. Thank you ! The lot that bashes the Thais, would never have heard of these scams!
  12. Just replace the word Thais to any other country and your statement holds true! Ever thought of it in that angle?
  13. I am really surprised that some who have commented above seem to think that this type of scams are happening only in Thailand. Have you ever heard of Pyramid schemes? Those have happened internationally and thousands, maybe millions of innocent people have fallen prey to these unscrupulous thieves. Not only in the poor countries, but in the most powerful countries too. Here is just one example of a warning issued to the public. These have been happening for decades, and will keep happening in the future too. How scammers have been working following the same scheme for more than 100 years.
  14. Well... we can keep repeating the most infamous mantra TiT TiT TiT TiT
