  1. Wouldn't it be nice if people didn't make any comments on here that they would be afraid to say to a person's face? The freedom of a fake name and ISP give the cowards and loud mouths too much freedom to spout off from their bedrooms.

What I find amusing is that the old timers get so riled up about posts on this forum.

They were around before computers and adapted to technology with old world values and want these values extended to the online world.

    Not going to happen.

I'd be happy to air my same complaints to your face but by the sounds of you and Peter are looking for a dust up if the same things were said that you disagree with..

That's OK but I don't want to have to defend myself and hurt a old man and maybe face assault charges for the sake of my comments on a boring forum.

Cool down a bit and take posts with a grain of salt as its not real life and members generally love posts like yours as another angle to wind you up.

I bet if the neighbours kids kicked a ball over the fence, you wouldn't throw it back.

  2. And you cant stay away from the old farts drinking Chang can you BTB?

So resurrection is not a Christian myth after all.

I agree the forum can be a bit like friends/acquaintances sitting around having a chat over a drink or 10. Opinions are just like the hole in our backside, we all have one. However, there are those who have great big pots with equally great big spoons.

For me the good side of Phuket & Thailand in general far outweigh any negatives but I feel I am entitled to complain on occasion without being told to pack up & go home.

    Your last line is perfect.

Nothing wrong with venting frustrations online without being called a whiner.

Its funny that jimi007 makes a thread whining about a man wanting banana leaves on 'his' land but then creates this whine thread complaining about whiners on the forum.

Pot calling the kettle black comes to mind.

  3. I only hear of break ins around that area, muggings of tourists and rapes.

Maybe the land prices are going up but that's only due to the Russian influence that has swarmed into that area, not sure if that's good or bad.

Why is it when you look in the gazette, it's mainly filled with property in the Rawai and nai harn area?

Many offering large reductions off the original asking price.

Many are on those dusty dirt sois with no infrastructure.

I know many defend their land purchase but anyone who thinks Rawai isn't the capital of crime in Phuket are delusional.

What a load of codswallop there are a lot more Russians in Chalong than there are in Rawai

The reason why they advertise in the PG is because long term expats prefer to live in the area and the PG

is a english language newspaper which the majority of people read

We do not live on dusty dirty Sois with no infrasture all the services are available here that are in Kata

When i lived in Kathu my home was broken into, when i lived in Kata the apartment owners motorbike

was stolen and scrapped, In Chalong 2 houses were broken into in the same Soi

You really no nothing about Rawai so why do you keep bashing it, but there again you seem to like

bashing everyone and everything you are just a troll that does not have a clue

You have taken over from a few others i could mention but cannot

I know Rawai, I eat there frequently but you can't ignore the problems down there.

I know you have vested interests in real estate but save the bullshit stories for the unsuspecting buyers, not a long time resident who have friends who have lived and left there.

I guess you have that little self funded tourist bored expat police station in nai harn now so you can point how safe it is when trying to flip a property.

  4. for once its not you whistling.gif

I just last week heard about a gogo bar in Rawai, did not believe it either. But last night I stayed in Patong and got talking to the hotel manager. Apparently he knows the guy who owns the gogo place in Rawai , he used to have a private security contracting company and worked in Iraq up until about 5 years ago. Made a shit load of money and invested it in property, apparently he just sold a hotel on Soi Sansabai for over 100M, so from what this guy was telling me last night the gogo owner is definitely not doing it for money, and as crazy as it sounds, did this gogo place for himself because he wanted to sit in air conditioning and has no plans to open it full time, this is very disappointing. If this changes and he does open it I will be a very happy man, Mr Gogo owner if you read this please change your mind, I like air conditioning to.

    Clanger of the year.

If there was ever a post that was the epitome of bar shit talking, this is a prime example.

Sorry, I don't have time for drinking and chatting in a gods waiting room with old has beens with old stories of exchange rates in 1983 with their heavily tattooed bar wives.

    I guess you've heard worse since you're a 50 baht beer chaser.

  7. Stay out of the right lane and you should be OK.

Drift over and its your fault if you get swiped and left grazed and bruised.

The rules should be, keep left if you don't intend to go over 80kph. Simple.

Remedy: Keep driving and ignore the wreckage in the rear view mirror.

"THE RULES SHOULD BE." They aren't !!!!! And; "Keep driving and ignore the wreckage in the rear view mirror."

Unbelievable! I can't understand people who have this type of self entitlement mentality... bah.gif

    Its a survival mentality.

Firstly, stick around and watch the crowd gather with threats of violence and god forbid a relative shows up before police.

More people involved means more palms that need greasing.

Better just to drive off and get in contact with the local police chief in the next few days.

Pay him to mediate a settlement once emotions simmer down.

I have been advised by Thai people that this is the best way to deal with the situation, hence the Thais doing it most of the time.

  8. when you hit 1 of them you pay pay big they know how to fall on them bikes seen it nothing wrong with them you give money to them fix bike and hospital, then keep reg of car his sister next day she say you hit bike she, cope on dont rent walk or get 100% insurance in all of thailand ,little scammers every where,ps not only thais us,uk,russians, plus from bleeding every where,

    Translation please.

Translation: If you hit someone, they are gonna try and f*** ya.

Remedy: Keep driving and ignore the wreckage in the rear view mirror.

  9. Support your local Mom and Pop store these chain stores are taking away local peoples living

    I call them inconvenience stores.

They are their own worst enemies, out of date product and dusty shelves.

Let me guess, you are against public transport because it takes away from the tuk tuk drivers living?

  10. There are plenty of Israelites at Roxy bar on trivia nights in phuket town. Or you could try the owner of the Family restaurant for advice

No. I know that crowd and they aren't any more Jewish than sombat the motocy taxi man.

  11. I've tried Chabad-Lubavitch of Phuket but Rabbi Yosef Chaim Kantors views are skewed to the point of frightening.

    Any others in Phuket?

A weekly service (maybe shabbat) is all I need for my boys without all the hate.

    Thanks in advance.

  12. prob me, i hit a farang's bike on the bypass few months ago when he wasnt in the shoulder and i was trying to pass someone by the left lane because he was going 40 in the right lane as they always do

Tanuki. Drive faster or further left and if you see an obstacle then stop and wait for cars to pass you if you're a slow driver. If you'Re trying to do a uturn on the right side of the road, wait untill you are next to the uturn lane before switching from the shoulder to the middle lanes instead of pissing off everyone driving at 30kph in the fast lane.

If you follow those simple rules, you wont ever be too close to a moving car.

That thing near your foot is called a brake. Try using it some time. Sideswipe me and youll be looking under your car for your teeth.

Stay out of the right lane and you should be OK.

Drift over and its your fault if you get swiped and left grazed and bruised.

  13. San Mig Light 835 Baht per case at Super Cheap yesterday.

So roughly 40 baht a beer at cost.

Why do people expect 50 baht beers considering the price of beer, rent, key money, staff, electric etc?

People I know in the hospitality business mark up 100% on their meals and drinks so 80 baht seems like a fair deal to me.

Draft beer is the only bargain beer if you look around.

  14. Too Pang for thee... Sorry as you do see to have a hard on for the Hard Rock... Drinking on the back streets of Kata or Nanai Road is not a nice as the HRC Patong!

Yes, its very expensive considering the food is terrible and have no desire to pay 400 baht for a flavorless burger that's smaller than a McDonald's cheesburger.

The whole set up is retarded, nobody can see the stage from any booth due to the excessive amount of pylons in the place.

For the same money, I'd rather stroll over and eat at Sam's steakhouse and enjoy a bottle of wine minus the package deal tourists squabbling over hard rock phuket t-shirts.
