  1. For starters Kenneth, this thread is in the wrong section.

Try posting in the right forum, here is the link just incase you're lost.... http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/forum/117-bikes-in-thailand/

I am amazed you're not banned, seriously.

Learn to roll with the topic and not take everything so personally and going on the defensive.

It happens in every thread i've read where you are involved, it's painful to see a middle aged man take the opinions of people on the internet so personally.

I think it's time for you to be the first inductee on my ignore list.

  2. I've had problems with electrical items at 'bargain prices' at Supercheap. I prefer to pay a bit more elsewhere for ease of mind.

Send me a PM, i have a few brand new CTEK's sitting in the garage and i'll let one go for what i paid for it.

Go to http://www.ctek.com/en to see if it meets your needs.

    edit: http://www.ctek.com/...rgers/MXS%203.6

I got a few of these, i'm into the 6th year on mine and never needed to crack a new one open.

ctek, excellent quality chargers, providing exactly what a battery needs in voltage/amp/cycles, and can double/tripple batterys lifetime by connecting over night a couple of times a month. can be connected for months

the trafos at supercheap can destroy a battery in one charge

how much are you asking for which ctek model?

MXS 3.6 and i paid 3500 baht for it in BKK.

I bought 3 to keep the cars charged when not in use but one has been working flawlessly for years.

I'm only willing to get rid of one because knowing my luck, mine will break and i won't have one for myself.

If Ping don't want it, you're welcome to it.

  4. Obviously you have no business acumen if you have to ask a local forum of strangers about a business plan.

Save your money and stay out of business here unless you hate money and want to dispose of it.

  5. Great great sound advice, pay the police to intimidate this person and be in their pockets and subjected for demands for more money for the rest of your stay in Thailand, come back and perform a revenge attack whoop whoop advice from a very wise man indeed!! Katasyd for the next British Consul or Aussie Consul or where ever he is from lol

Money is how things are done here, being it from a Thai, African, Arab or a pasty white guy from Australia. Money = results for any race or creed.

Once you realize this, many things can be swung into your favor and that's just the way it is.

Just look at some of the building permits issued and injustices for serious crimes all over Thailand, all paths cleared for the almighty baht.

If it were me in this situation, i go to the local police station and tell them my story and if they come and have a few strong words to the man, i'll donate 3000 baht to the mia noi fund.

A minion security guard on 8 to 10k a month doesn't have means to get even with you and won't dare look at you once he has had a face to face warning from the BIB.

It shows your not messing around and have adapted to the Thai way of justice.

He would be saluting you next time you pass.

  6. Oh god.

The politically correct squad are out today, let's get wrapped in cotton wool and stay in our villa's.

Stand up and don't be afraid to get even should a confrontation arise.

    Get shifty like the locals.

    A few options.

    1. Move out and return a few weeks later for a sneak attack of your own, he would be too dumb to piece it together as he is a scumbag who probably threatens people on a daily basis.

    2. Pay the police to put the fear of god into him if this continues, police are experts in this field and nothing motivates them more than a few thousand baht for a quick side job of menace.

Calling the embassy or consulate does nothing but waste a phone call.

Do as the Thai's do because one thing is for sure, they might discriminate against farangs but not money.

  7. I last went home to Australia in 2007 and i hated it and doubt i'll ever return.

It was so quiet and boring, no noisy motorbikes,no road side fires or wondering packs of street dogs and the Sydney CBD shopping closes at 7pm and looks like a ghost town.

Crappy Thai food that a Thai wouldn't eat and 100 times the price.

Thailand has it's flaws but i like the fact it isn't a nanny state and it always seems to be a hive of activity somewhere.

  8. Yes lots of low quality restaurant deemed good by non-connaisseur of food. Phuket town and the surin area has some top notch restaurants with really good international chefs in expensive and cheap restaurants. Also a lot of the great thai chefs on the island are keeping far away from the farang ghettos. Central is right there with good easy food and shopping. Homepro/works, all the north beach accessible by a fast highway and better internet reliability and LESS thieves.

South loses in any category unless you work there.

    can add a few more:

Golf is better, more choice of quality spas and gyms. 2 marinas. Easy access to airport. Better and larger roads(still horrible but..) Tennis courts, soon a cabaret show for ladyboy lovers, supercheap and makros for supply of beer lao.

    Let me guess.

You either sell real estate or have bought a home up there and defending your questionable purchase in a isolated backwash of rampant construction.

Your list of pluses are subjective depending on the lifestyle people chose to live, i play golf once a week and for a 25 min drive isn't bad. Tennis courts are everywhere in the south, i can think of 20 places to play.

Yes, lot's of low quality restaurants in the south but also some very good ones that will rival any i've tried up North. Aqua bleh, White box super bleh and the list can go on.

It sounds like you believe no low quality restaurants exist in the god blessed North where millionaires reside and the roads are paved with gold.whistling.gif

Bad restaurants never survive regardless of the location but you probably haunt the same establishments owned by 'friends and live in denial.

I hope you like living up there and i admire your valiant effort in convincing some random internet queries about the North when a majority of the forum have the same sentiments as me.

A little lonely up there? Need some of those empty villas and shophouses filled that litter the ghost towns from Surin onward so you might actually get a neighbor?

  9. South Side.. if you have the money.. I like the South East Side as we have good shopping with the Lotus and Home Pro Centers....

A few good bars etc and plenty of returants.

Best place would be on the beach but that is tough to find!

    he has an educated wife.

    Stay north.

Anywhere north is good. South is mostly about people who likes bars. The south is onnut. 90% of the population to be avoide. Lot's of good food and shopping and infrastructures up north when you can afford them.

The North has nothing but overpriced villa's and empty shop houses.

A few overpriced restaurants but infrastructure? Shopping? If you live right on Theppasattri Rd, ok but the infrastructure is laughable once you turn left or right at the monument.

I have friends who live in Kamala and they always seem to be hanging out in Kata/Karon/Chalong due to nothing to do up there.

Maybe if you leave your villa and venture out you might find the south has much more to offer.

  10. You're full of ideas for Patong but i'm afraid the scurge has settled and nobody in their right mind would invest billions of baht on a useless building.

Many hotels have convention space, just go into the Hilton and look at the size of their convention hall.

FYI, That land you're talking about is a going to be the new Central department store, refreshing considering junkceylon is a brand graveyard

  11. Call Max at Water Works Warehouse 0819790917

    No thanks.

I spent 700k on a spa and it broke because the service team didn't seal it after service and water blew the electrics.

They refused to repair their dodgy work i and i had to fork out but that is as far as it went.

I put a deposit down on a new spa pump 2 years ago, nothing came and they never return my calls and it still sits broken and I'm out 23k but i put it down to lesson learnt.

I know the drunk owner "moose" has a hard time running it but i am dumbfounded how they stay afloat.

  12. You would have food carts and tuk tuks on the circuit.

Phuket is a slum and eccelstone wouldn't think twice to consider it ever in Phuket, let alone Thailand.

Can you imagine the authorities wanting back handers from him?

  13. Suwichan Saengkaeo, 25, an employee of the Ratchadaphisek-Lat Phrao branch, had earlier confessed to stealing amulets and other valuables worth a combined Bt25 million from the boxes, according to police.
Police said the victims were bank employees who had deposited assets there for safekeeping.

I want to know how bank employees have 25 million baht is assets when on minimal salaries?

My friend had been at SCB for 15 years and is only on 35k a month as a branch manager.
