  1. Get a flat tire, and they will try and soak you for a lot of $ too.

I would never call the rental person for a flat, better just fix at a small thai bike shop roadside for 200 baht

    cheers

What 200 baht !! A tube patch 10 or 20 baht, a new inner tube 100 baht, 120 baht at most.

Oh the horror, how will he sleep knowing that he overpaid by a couple of dollars?

  2. Some Happy hour.Whoopee 45 bht for Tiger daft.A full 5 bht cheaper than most bars

Wonder if the plastic S.A.S brigade are going to be there.

My thoughts exactly. I don't know about some of you, but sometimes these are just the type of places which some people try to avoid. My opinion is that when going out on the town, one shouldn't have to limit themselves to drinking 45BHT draft, but hey if 45BHT draft is your thing then more power to you. I rather just stay home. I personally prefer a nice quality top shelf, but that's not to say occasionally I don't like to have a couple of beers myself from time to time. From my personal perspective selling cheap whisky or beer can sometimes attract some very unsavory characters. Not to mention they will drink more and get intoxicated a lot faster. This can lead to some problems, not just with staff, but with patrons as well. Also the profit margin on the barrel beer will almost be next to nothing. The owners most defiantly will need to offer something more to entice prospective customers to frequent their place, and make it successful. The 45 BHT beer is just not going to cut it.

I am really waiting to see the new GOGO open. I hope they do it well, and with a good selection of top shelf liquors "Grey Goose, Patron Silver, Old Raj, McAllester", and last but not least, some very hot looking ladies

Watch out Jeffrey GOGO coming soon to Rawai !

    Top shelf booze in Rawai?

Read the 50 baht beer thread as an indication of the clientel that the place can expect.

As for the girls, they we be all crooked toothed nings that don't make the grade in patong gogos.

I am awaiting a review soon.

  3. I didn't attend the concert but bought tickets for my gf and her sister. I am told Tata decided to wonder on-stage 2.5 hours after concert was supposed to start. I had a car/driver for them and had to pay extra for all the wait time. My gf said she couldn't enjoy the concert because she was too pissed off by the arrogance of making paying customers wait almost three hours to begin. Anyone see the concert?

    I doubt anyone went.

Crap food, overpriced drinks and an aging pop star performing for tourists that have never heard of her.

The layout of the place is all wrong as only about 4 tables can see the stage.

More pylons in the place than chalong pier.

  4. Yawn.

    I'd rather have teeth pulled.

Its a shame Thailand can't attract 'real' international artists.

    You mean, like, Cliff Richard?

    Hahaha, hell no.

Having tata young playing in hard rock cafe will only be a big deal to the Thais working there.

Can't say tourists even know who she is nor care for her horrible music.

She will never crack into the international music scene, she tried and failed numerous times plus she is long in the tooth now and bulked up.

  5. Everything appliance from moulinex I have owned as been terrible.

Blender died after a uses and the juicer died after a year.

Not sure if they are made in Thailand but its utter shit.

  6. Just got all my bills in one bunch. Phone, internet and Ubc.

    This has never happened before,ever.

Normally coming seperately throughout the month individually or just not show up for 2 months.

Has the postal service gotten efficient all of a sudden?

  7. Its in the hotel but its hardly posh or expensive.

I've walked in there with no shoes and eaten.

Its 280 or 300 baht for 3 pieces of snow fish with fries which is very reasonable.

Looked for the restaurant yesterday,at north end of beach

We went in past the yacht club and came back slowly and could not find it

There is a restaurant at the club and one further back called the Tropical Cafe

Where the barrier is which had fish and chips, but we did not try them, i think its the wrong restaurant

    Its in the hotel.

Go up to the lobby and head left.

    Has an amazing view.

  8. I counted between lightnings and thunder, and it was max 1-3 seconds, making it 300-900 meters from my bed

we have the TVs and soundsystems on separate switch and switch off powersupply when go to sleep. Sounds like it saved me some screens last night

you major problem may not be the burned appliances, but the burned concealed wires not any more able to carry the load they where designed for

That's what my electrician is saying right now. He is cutting wires and checking for power, some do and some dont.

First my electrician said the lighting struck my powerpole on the street to cause this damage but then he said it must have hit the house to have burnt light switches that are welded in the on position, never to move again.

Every magnetic switch in the house is toast.

I find it strange how none of my plasma TV's didn't get killed, being on through the storm.

Anyway, gardens look happy and the grass is greener.

  9. I suggest you use treated pine from New Zealand as it will last a long time. The distributor is just by the traffic light on Chao Fa West, the T junction with the big wine barrel & the straight road (Thanon Kwang) that joins the Chao Fa West with Chao Fa East. They have decking wood with the grooves in it. Do not use normal nails with this as it will eventually leave a horrible stain on the wood, better to use the nails supplied by the timber company. They have a printed price list there. Cannot remember exactly how much per/m2 & will up there with the higher priced timbers but without the ongoing maintenance costs.

They are around 600 to 700 baht per 4 metre plank but I don't think its worth the cost.

The pine doesn't like the water and rots after about 5 years so I wild suggest the conwood decking.

Conwood lasts forever and no looking after it.

  10. The storm last night caused my electricity to go haywire and burnt out some lightbulbs and now when I flick a certain switch, I'm tripping breakers.

Expensive day coming up now my water pump is non responsive.

This f*#*ing storm destroyed my 40" LCD TV; like you said it, expensive day coming up now...

Its just getting worse as I look around.

Some light switches on the walls are fried stuck and need to be replaced along with any lightbulb that was on.

Magnetic switch for the pool pumps is melted and my Mitsubishi inverter pump for house water is dead.

Microwave oven has cooked its last meal as well.

My place must have been struck by lightning but neighbours think its because of the new influx of development in soi Pakjae and Kataburi that's keeping the old outdated transformer running at 100% and tripping constantly.

Who knows but it's starting to get expensive fixing burnt stuff constantly.
