  1. It's now Thursday and it's over for another year. Maybe the Pattaya City fathers should rethink their strategy that allows this quaint national holiday to be abused by ignorance and greed.

Sounds like my cup of tea what youve done well some of it.

Thing is they arent profitting from the majority on this thread as we all seem to do what we can to avoid it.

  2. Having read the article though, i think it's the Press making something out of nothing though to be honest,

Yes probably they do like to make out Fergies a genius for doing this and go on about it too much, when Fergies undoubted talent is having an exceptional talent at spotting a player, and getting in all the worlds best staff to do their job and manage them all.

Surely changing a game is more to do with changing personel, tactics and telling the ones who are useless just that. If all managers were like Peter Reid theyre the same in the dressing room whether theyre winning, losing or drawing in that whichever one it was he was swearing and shouting like a naughty schoolboy.

  3. There are just too many farlang and Thai's that enjoy it, it would be like trying to cancel Christmas..

But what we have now is the equivilant to extending Xmas day to 8 days long.

Could you imagine being stuck in the house with relatives for 8 days, buying 8 days of needless gifts and having to bite your lip for 8 days with the irritating cousin/uncle/aunt, watching the same repeats on TV everyday for 8 days? and then this followed by the Xmas to New Year week where youve another 7 days doing the same thing.

  4. Hi all,

I want to watch the Everton :o V Man Utd FA Cup semi on Sunday. Which Bangkok pub is best for a bit of blue support?

Most pubs will have the majority of people wanting Everton to win on the basis that everyone that doesnt support ManU will be supporting them, so try and avoid the ManU pubs i dont know where they are but someone on here must.

Good luck to Everton this year i hope you win the cup.

  5. Was reading this article on teamtalk.com about Guss Hiddink and his amazing half time shouting session that saw Chelsea get through to the next round by the skin of their teeth.

    http://www.teamtalk.com/football/story/0,1...5190166,00.html

Now i played football as a kid and when we were losing the manager used to rant and ball but to me it didnt make a blind bit of difference as i knew that it needed improving.

Also if this shouting and screaming works so well why dont they do it before the game then at half time when theyre winning by a canter he'll be able to go for a pint of p7sswater beer with the fans. And what happens if both managers scream at half time does this mean the one who can shout loudest wins, or will it be a draw?

Basically i think what im ranting about as even im not too sure, but are managers now so far up their own asses after a lucky result theyve delusions of grandeur that it was purely down to their half time genius not players trying harder when they know they have to.

  6. tonys on 3rd road is as good as youll get for a good price too and good equipment there .i used to like universal gym on beach road until it was closed to make way for development

I like to use punchbags and went to Tony's yesterday to book the monthly membership which is 3100 baht assuming the what i though to be obvious in that it included usage of the punch bags.

However I was told if i wanted to use the bags i would be charged an extra 100baht a time.

I like to use them for 5-6 rounds in the morning the same in the evening, hence if i went everyday i'd be charged 9100bht for a month. they wouldnt budge on the price as i dont think the cashier had the authority to.

California Wow is 2000bht for 1 month only (this is the price i offered), but has no bags, also on 3rd Rd there is another gym 200 metres from Tonys and on the same side, it has 3 floors and plenty of equipment (inc punch bags) this is 1500 for 1 month only.

I go to a similar gym to Tony's in England and its 32GBP or 1600bht a month, it seems to me by how empty it was that he's trying to get as much as he possibly can from tourists but is ending up with not a lot, the prices for expats are good though.

  7. I do too, but I wear a swimming suit and t-shirt, so when I get wet, it does not matter so much! :o

Bet you look great whilst walking to the gym in your Speedos, make sure the water doesnt loosen the adhesive that keeps the S on though. :D

Point is if you want to do something relatively normal and dont have a car you cant, im staying in the centre of town if i took a bag it'd get soaked.

Will be going when its dark tonight though.

  8. I disagree,.its a thai thing, not farang,.. seems there are a lot of boring farang that have become complacent and would like thailand to be ruled like the west,.....not allowed to do this and that, pathetic, why dont you sod off somewhere for songkran and give us all a break !,.

I came here not aware that it was a weekly event i thought it was for a couple of days.

After changing from my soaking clothes to go to the gym i walked down the street and was instantly soaked despite telling both Thai and farang not to.

Not everyone who comes to Pattaya is here to get pissed everyday running after whores, if this was the case i wouldnt mind as much.

Besides many back home dont want to celebrate Xmas/N Year as its gone completely over the top now.

  9. Sorry about my reply, computers a bit on the blink(or i AM)

I will try that link you suggested though. Thanks

Most on this forum are not too good at reading anyway so i doubt theyd notice.

  10. Hi chaps is there anyway i can watch or listen to the Chelsea fa cup tie with arsenal?

Are there any good websites that i could download and watch the game?

I am from the uk and live in the Chaiyphum province.

Go to sopcast.com and download their internet player, if it wont download do a google search fro sopcast 3.

Then google Asiaplate and click on the link and you can watch it from their.

Better still go to this link and watch it on their, you wil have to download one of the p2p internet players, its better then watching it on a site like justintv where the picture isnt always good.

    http://www.myp2p.eu/broadcast.php?matchid=...amp;part=sports

Its the Chelsea champs league game with Liverpool though tonight.

  11. Are you this mouthy in reality oldman?

Funny you should ask that sanmiguel. Earlier on in this thread i was having exactly the same thoughts about you. You seem to have difficulty engaging in a discussion when people disagree with you, without having a hissy fit and name-calling.

I wrote many posts stating facts as to why some of the earlier crap about Newcastle fans and Alan Shearer can lose with this appointment, Messiah's etc... was wrong, and was southern media tales, then for some reason you decided it would be out the box thinking to come out with the exact same stuff, at which point i said "Another prat coming out with the media cliches" ...... come on youve a thicker skin then that.

Besides its good to have a bit of arguing on here spices it up a bit.

  12. unlike the top teams (note: these clubs who have actually won something in the past 40 years) who have visited most fans expected a tough game and had some respect for Stoke.

However your inbred bunch turn up 3rd from bottom cannot buy a win and have the opinion that it's 'little' Stoke and it'll be an easy win . . . bunch of jokers.

Do you have the ability to write something that is fact? or do you type away and in your mind that was sculpted in a town where the folk have serious mental health issues it suddenly becomes true.

I think Newcastle have won 2 away games all season, havent won a game in the last 8, have many first team players injured, and have been crap for years ........so from this point of view do you honestly believe that 1 solitary Newcastle fan thought they'd get an easy victory?

  13. And exactly what would the Newcastle Chronicle know of what happened that night - do you think they'd really report it?

Yes i do we live in a democratic country with free press that doesnt protect hooligans, if such a vile thing were ever to occur it would be reported, you are bordering on being delusional to come out with such a statement that local media would cover up something of this nature.

Mark Chesters books by the accounts of many people are in general borderline fantasy.

As is your tale that some imaginary person slashed an imaginary girl, but in a town where people have such poverty stricken childhoods that leads to severe mental health issues in later life i see why you grasp at such tales to condone beating up children and elderly who've come to watch a game of football.

Yeah of course Abdy Faye was a 'reject' that's why he'd walk into your 1st team. As Abdy has said himself he feels far more a part of a family at Stoke and we have the best fans in the Premiership.

I bet he kisses the badge aswell, my buddha you are delusional believing that kind of drivel.

IMO a clubs long term away following is how you should judge how good a clubs fans are.... teatime game 250 miles away Newcastle filled your away end for a televised game ... not bad for a team who have won 1 trophy in 54 years.

You certainly seem to be obsessed with running Stoke down

Im uneducated and left school at 15, but i feel like a genius replying to your comments maybe this is why i cant help myself.

  14. Im staying in Petchburi Road Soi1 and about 5pm when i woke up there were soldiers lying down and taking aim at what i believe were protesters who'd hijacked a bus as minutes later the bus was on fire.

I dont know if they were aiming for the sky or what it was they were firing.

Certainly is one set of rules for the yellow shirts and one for the reds as the yellows never got any of this kind of treatment.

  15. I found this Chaps...

    http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_6783...1/ai_n28478177/

I met this Mark Chester Fella on a Beach out here about 4 Years back, nice Fella, making a nice few Quid out of his Books then he was saying..

Bit of a rivalry me thinks with these 2 brewing up...

    http://www.thisisstaffordshire.co.uk/news/...il/article.html

Cheers for that link so we can see no young girl was stabbed and it was complete fabrication, my brother was there and he said it was as blatant as Stoke fans hitting the 16yo kids and pensioners, my brother has no interest in football violence and thinks anyone fron any club who does is an ass so he would give a honest description.

This sentence seems to sum up why Technocracy is as he is -

"Nobody in Stoke has anything, it's a rundown place with poor mental health.

  16. Stoke put a middle finger up and say fuc_k you to the media and wanke_r 'fans' like you of clubs who think they are too big to go down or to lose to little Stoke.

As i went to Newcastle starting in 1982 when they were in the second division and had been for many years and were getting capacity crowds of 36500, it idiots like you who seem to think that if you say that newcastle fans think theyre too big to go down, then somehow its true.

We don't have a team made up of multi-millionaires who just turns up for the cash (or can't be arsed like Martins!) - we have a group of player who will fight for every lost cause and know that the fans will back them every step of the way. Bet you'd love to have 1 oz of that fight in your spineless mercenaries.

Well as youve a few of our rejects thats 3 who only turn up for the money, what do you think these people move to scabland for ........ the weather.

  17. Yep cowardly fans that slash a young girl then whine like girls when the shit hits the fan.

That never happened you've made it up, something of this nature would have been reported it has never been as it didnt happen hence your exceptionally sketchy description of it.

Are you this mouthy in reality oldman?

  18. Should have got 3 points but 1 isnt too bad.

Should have scored 2 goals then.

but i just wish we had seome decent refs.

Like ones who dont give corners that lead to goals when they are quite clearly not

i cant believe not one castle fan was booked.

Which one????? It was one of your mob lobbing missiles at Taylor.

Stoke have done well this season, but you seem to have delusions of grandeur about them, also where were all these passionate fans before they got into the premier league, seems as if theyre the new breed supporter who goes overly hysterical about football, as its the new fad in the town.

  19. I thought that the first 60 minutes of the Stoke match was about the worst Newcastle have played all season. The defence looked totally disorganized, there was absolutely no creativity from midfield, with Butt in particular having a stinker, and the front 2 looked ineffective against the well structured Stoke back 4. Every time Stoke got a corner or had a Delap throw in it caused panic in the back 4. When Newcastle had possession it just seemed to result in a long aimless hoof forward to nobody. It was only when Jonas and Carroll came on that Newcastle improved and started creating some chances.

In my opinion, Shearer did get his team selection and formation wrong. If Kinnear or Hughton had gone with the same selections, most of the Toon Army would have been up in arms. Fortunately Newcastle and Shearer got away with it yesterday and salvaged a point which could prove vital come the end of May.

On the plus side, I think that Shearer would have learned a lot about his players from the Stoke game. The commitment was there even if the quality wasn't. Playing Jonas, Martins and possibly Barton will give that extra quality. Carroll should always start before Ameobi and if Taylor and Enrique get fit they will strengthen the back4.

Pretty much bang on, its seems as if Shearer was going to be playing the same way as Keegan did with Owen behind the front 2 until Martins got a phantom injury on the morning of the game, maybe having no leftback meant playing with 3 at the back but it didnt look good.

There does seem to be too many chiefs with Dowie, Hughton and Calderwood, think the latter may get the sack if he stays on.

Ameobi should do the decent thing and retire, how the <deleted> he's managed to trick the club for 10 years into thinking he's a footballer is a mystery, Carrol is w4nk but he's a better slightly less clumsy version of him, Ryan Taylors looking as if he'll blossom into becoming completely useless aswell.

  20. Its more to do with him being the only LB as to why he's the best, he is slightly better then he once was, but it maybe due to Collicini taking the crown of being the worst defender.

If you want to be a good team he isnt what you'd want in your team.

Whenever I've seen him play,I've always been impressed. He tackles well, has pace and is not afraid to bomb on.Because he is the only left back you have,he's going to have some offdays. He's definitely a better full back than that piece of rubbish we've got,Bosingwa.

He can do so fantastic stuff, but then he does some equally horrendous stuff that'll give away a goal.

I dont think too many Chelsea players would get in this current Newcastle team so you can keep Boswinga.

  22. Here is a decent article about Shearer, well at least i think so you can make your own minds up.

    http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/foo...icle6069800.ece

Its defintely better then the Piers Morgan piece of sh7e that many of you had pre - plagiarised without realising.

I personally still cant get my head around 7500 kids going to watch training, maybe i'd have gone if free entry to the ground and this option was open to me as a kid, im sure other grounds would be just as full if clubs entertained it.

I rate Jose Enrique highly so,for him to be out injured for the Stoke match is a blow.

    Really ??

I've got him as their Anne Robinson...

He's the best leftback at Newcastle, aswell as being the only one.
