  1. Eva air, imho evergreendeluxe is the only way to fly, worth the extra few pound for long haul.Thai airways would be my second choice.good luck

I agree wholeheartedly, certainly worth the extra for the service and space.

Also agree with all those who say that Singapore has the best looking stewardesses!!! :o

  2. I had quite sniggers from old mates in the UK and other comments when I married her were "she's so lucky - she'll be able to get a British passport now!" They just couldn't get their head around the fact that we would never want to live in UK.

When people first find out that I married a Thai lady, the question is always "when is she coming to the UK then..?"

I reply that "she doesn't want to come here, maybe she will come in the future for a holiday, but not to live", and that's the truth as she has told me, she has no interest in living in the UK. I kind of get the impression that they think the only reason we actually married is so that she can come to the UK, pnustedt is right, people just cannot get their head round the fact that she doesn't want to live in the UK....

Maybe they should visit Thailand, I'm sure they'd have a better idea then... :D

This is so true! People are gobsmacked that a "Thai" would not want to live in the UK. Including the ECOs at the British Embassy BKK.

My wife was adamant before we married that she did not want to live in England.

She got no arguments from me, as neither did I!!! :o:D

  3. That is not the same statement!!

Yes you're correct it's not quite the same statement,

I was goading you a bit in to making a reply that's all. :o

I suppose that if everyone is happy with the arangement,

who am I to argue with it ? Upto you :D

The dowry idea just doesn't sit well with me thats all.

Has your mother recovered from the shock yet ??? :D

    Yes she has thanks. :D

Didn't take her long and now she looking forward to meeting my wife and baby in June. :D

Upto you!! You sure your not a Thai girl?? :D:D

  4. Before visiting this forum it had never even occurred to me that non-Thais would even feel offended by this, and view it as a financial transaction for wife-purchasing. It had always seemed an integral part of the wedding to me.

That means you are not western enough. :o

Actually I too did not know before about this being offensive.(I'm from HK)

That was a very lovely post, SK. And I also agree with what cdnvic said.

Yes SK that was a very good post. Made a lot of sense and was very well written!

As cdnvic says you could easily have fired back with a venomous salvo. You must find the farang dismissal of Thai Culture very disappointing to say the least.

  5. What's the matter dereklev.... cat got your tongue ?    :D

Sorry johng I didn't see your response until today.

I see that here and in the new Dowry post you edit.......

I paid a dowry and was happy to do so, after the marriage my mother in law bought some land for my wife.

    down to........

I paid a dowry and was happy to do so

That is not the same statement!! :o

Before we got engaged the dowry was discussed and a price agreed.

It was agreed what would be paid for from the dowry and what would be returned to my wife.

The family kept less than 25% of the dowry and we kept the money given at the wedding.

Much of the dowry was gold which my wife still has. :D

Yes the dowry raised some eyebrows back home not least from my mother!!! :D

But most saw it as a tradition and many said far less than they contributed towards their own weddings in the UK.

Yes I have friends who have had very bad experiences and others good like mine.

Back in the UK I can say the same!!

In the end paying a dowry or not is a personal choice and yes I can see that many farangs have married into Thai families far less equitable as mine. :D

  6. shoot me for wanting to get everything right!! :D

But you don't get things right!! You are still doing what you were 1 year ago, despite some superb advice particularly from The Scouse

I dont care what people think about me and the GF. When i post things i am asking for advice as this process is new to me and i expect grown up answers and replies. If you only want to try and show me up by saying this is how long i have been trying to get the visa, this is what i have asked before, and to call me a troll and a bullsh*tter. Go ahead i dont give a <deleted>!!!

    TR*LL>>>>>>B*LL SH*TTER

Im doing this cause i need help from people who have been there and done this before, i dont need sarcasm and the sh@t ripped out of me. Its hard enough as it is. So in future if you cant help or offer words of encouragement dont bother posting.

Censorship is the responsibility of the Moderators not you BS

Yes i have been writing for ages, and we are still together (engaged) so this shows this is not just a farang getting ripped of by a bar girl who works in a bar behind my back.

But she is/was a BG and you send her money every month

Why do people feel the need to slag others off when they are having a bad time???

Their own lives must be so perfect. I just hope for their sake they are never in a similar position (where they need help) and are treated the same.

My life is by no means perfect but it is good. I am happily married, to a beautiful Isaan lady not a BG but she had farangs before me, and have a lovely 4 month old son. We have a beautiful house, nice car and and have a good lifestyle.

For the last time :- i am not a troll, my GF is serious about the relationship, and i am not a bullsh"tter!

If this is true good luck to you!!

    :o  :D

Why are you so angry??? The resolution to your problem lies in your own hands BS and of course your girlfriend's!

Have you prepared her for the interview? There are some good threads here based on real interviews. Print one, have it translated and courier it to your GF so she knows what to expect!! Otherwise she may well be overwhelmed by the attitude of the ECO. My wife was even though we had a watertight case and got the visa same day! :D  :D  :D

  7. Is this the 3rd series of this soap opera?

No I did a search on BIG SPUDS and the word REFUSED (Visa and Migration threads only) and it seems that this soap is in at least series 10 and has been running for over a year!!! :D

    Is this a record???? :o

A lot of sound advice seems to have been wasted on Mr and Mrs BS as he is still asking the same questions he was 1 year ago. :D

    Maybe the forum needs a B*ll Sh*t filter!!! :D

Ole Spuds hasn't known her very long at all. There's a sh*tload on trust IMHO

Isn't it the same woman he has started numerous threads on ever since he joined here? In spite of the wealth of detailed advice and information given by posters more patient than myself, he doesn't seem to get to a place within himself or in the outside world for sorting the story out. Getting an hour's counselling per day on the phone from his girl for 100 quid a month is good value, and no reason to be suspicious about her motives.

Sorry, I am very direct at times, this is not meant as an insult but a serious pointer, bigspuds!

And still the saga goes on and on and on :D

  9. How have i contradicted myself??

I admit i put 1-5 days down to start with when i got back from LOS but i was shagged. But nothing else has been contradicted.

Read my previous post BS it says what the contradiction is.

In case you still don't see you have changed the date you went to the Embassy :o

Hope you get your interview date soon and she turns up on the correct day. :D

    Apology accepted :D

  10. As all that follow my posts, went to the UK embassy with the GF 29th march. submitted the application and supporting docs and told to wait 5-10 days for an interview date.

    Still nothing has arrived!!!!

Now i know the embassy was shut for the next 3 days 30/31/1. Do they open saturdays?

    could i count these days.

If i am only counting working days since then it has been 8 days.

Is it normal for the embassy to take the full 10 days or even longer?

Ive told the GF to give them a call tomorrow to see whats the crack.

BS according to your posts in Refused Again you went to the Embassy on 12th of April :D

Then it was closed 3 days for Songkran and re-opened on Monday 18th...........

When you were there they should have issued with a date probably sometime in July. If they said they would let you know then sure they will.........

But maybe they are checking up on GF first :D

They do things like that you know :D

With such contradicting info in your posts it is not suprising the word TR*LL was used in the latter stages of Refused Again :o

  11. as we submitted the application tuesday and the embassy was shut after for some days (i think it opened today not sure) was told to expect a reply by post within 5 - 10 working days. Should a short interview surfice then she could go at her leisure. If a long interview was required 10 -12 weeks. The sign said Next avaialable interview date 7.7.5. So its just a wait........................... :o

Yes when she gets it i will be returning ASAP of course ...ive waited long enough.

make sure she gets the date right :D

BS you said 1-5 days in your 1st post after returning............now 1t is 5-10 days!!!

You should take lessons from your GF on fibbing......... :D

You would attract far less cynacism and criticism if there was just a little consitency to your posts. :D

IMHO you would have got the short interview on the spot if she was going to get one. So be prepared for the long wait and her crying phone call saying REFUSED AGAIN!!!!! :D:D

  12. we all wish him well i'm sure , we are just chatting amongst ourselves during the intermission.

    :o

I agree TaxExile, no harm having some fun whilst we wait for the outcome. :D

I might be amongst his critics for his total lack of comsistency but I do hope it works out for him!!! He is a Brit after all...... :D

  13. fisrstly a big load of boll£xs to a lot of you!!!

The reason i have not wrote for a week is like pie boy said i was on holiday spending what little time i had with the GF. I'm not desperatly in love with TV where i feel i have to write every day.

I have just got back less than 2 hours ago and am shagged out so will not write much at this stage.

However all went very well, we went to the visa tuesday (the day b4 it shut) to which my GF pointed out it was shut on wednesday.

got there at 6. was about 20 down the line, handed the papers in paid the toll, was told they would contact the GF 1-5 working days in and out 20 minutes.

Holiday was very good absoultley gutted to be back and at work in 14 hours.

So glad i keep you all engrosed in my love life, you should know what goes on in the bedroom  :D

will write more when my heads on properly, but to all you out there that are hoping every thing goes tits up for me............ heres a big finger to you.

All is well, very very good in fact.

Sorry to dissapaoint you and keep you all waiting but..........thats life. :D  :D

See you learnt ThaIngrish whilst on hols :D

More BS from BS........must be learning from Lucy Lui :D

The embassy was open on Monday 11th.

Anyway BS, fact or fiction you have amused many people with your tales of woe and daring do!!! :D

Your scathing attacks on the embassy when your GF is a serial no show were wonderful.

Hope she shows this time......... :o

  14. Maybe he's just sick of all the cynicism lovingly displayed here? :o

Then perhaps he should of thought about that before all his Bull Sh*t how his GF went for an interview when the Embassy was shut :D

He has invited cynacism and critism by his own words and his defence of the indefensible. :D

Perhaps he is not man enough to admit his mistakes........ :D

    Happy Songkran. :D

  15. Thanks guys.... any more out there? Isaan, CM?  :o

Gra, I'd swap this shed for a hut in LoS, anytime :D

On the main road from BKK to Korat there are "shed" loads Udon.

From just after Siam City they appear in large clusters.

Around Khao Yai there are blossoming.

On the road to Korat Zoo, Pak Thong Chai, they are everywhere!!! :D

  16. This is getting more and more like a soap opera.  Now we have the wait and suspense until the next episode.

Did BS arrive safely on Phuket Air?

Was Mrs BS waiting for him at the airport or did she oversleep, panic and leap over the guy in bed next to her and struggle to pull on her panties as she darts out to grab a taxi to airport?

Did Mr BS call her mobile and find a sleepy Thai man answering (as Mrs BS left if in the panic as she darted out of the hotel room)?

Is Mrs BS panicking as the taxi driver has to pull into the gas station to get more fuel to make it to the airport?

Has she mastered the art of applying makeup whilst the taxi is hurtling down the road (not the tollway, too expensive) avoiding hoards of her fellow Issan workers heading back home crammed into a 20 yr old pickup?

Has Mr BS given away the 1 meter tall cuddly toy he bought at Birmingham airport to a scrawny 4 year old instead of the beloved Mrs BS once the Thai man picked up her mobile phone.

Can Mrs BS think of even more fiction than Sidney Sheldon and Hans Christian Anderson that will allow her to wrestle out of this dilemma?

Tune in next time folks for the latest goings on in the next episode of,

"Pride, Passion and Pattaya"  A story of everyday folk in the city of sin

    Excellent!!! :o:D

  17. But this is costum of Thai u should be honour her , if you love her

Yes... but it's not the custom of westerners :D sorry to speak so bluntly it's seen as buying a wife !! (Asbestos suit on )

So if the girl loves him she will agree to a compromise. Yes ??

No, she will honour her parents first.

Where is your compromise? You just expect things to be done the Western way......but TIT :D

How is it buying a wife? :D It may be helping your future family or do you not think her family are your family?

Are you one of those pr*ts who still believe that the bride's family should pay for the wedding?

I paid a dowry and was happy to do so, after the marriage my mother in law bought some land for my wife.

When my son was born last December my mother in law bought some land for him.

So is my mother in law buying a grandson? :o

  18. geez, they the make a good pair though with getting their dates wrong don't they?

I'm wondering how long before some one utters the 'T' word.

    'T'ragic yes but 'T'roll no.

    T hick :D

Me thinks he is, as his initials state, full of Bull Sh*t!!!

Or maybe as Dr PP said just plain T hick!!!!

To all you admirers of BS and Ms BS....................... :o

  19. You would have thought, with his huge fan base, he'd have gone to an Internet Shop and let us all know.

If I were him, I'd be spending as much time as I could with my girlfriend.

    Carpe Diem

Who knows what tomorrow way bring.

    Patrick

    "tomorrow" has brought nothing

    Embassy shut until Monday now.

BS certainly picked the wrong week to come and sort out a visa!! :D

He will have to "rely" on his GF to get her visa. :o
