  1. There's a couple things here that are quite remarkable, and I will try to say that without sounding totally unsympathetic. First of all it takes about 10 minutes to learn how to swim, at least to learn how to swim adequately. I've taught people how to swim so I know it's a fairly simple process. So obviously this guy did not know how to swim because it's not difficult to get back from the middle of the canal to the shore, unless there's a raging tide happening. The second thing that comes to mind is if you know that you don't know how to swim and you know that you can barely stay afloat why do you deliberately wade out into water that's fairly deep? What on earth was he thinking, or was he thinking at all?
  2. You've twisted reality once again. If Trump loses there is no way that he's going to accept the results, he's pretty much already said that that's the case. If Harris loses she will bow out gracefully just like every other Democratic Contender that's lost in the last hundred years. I guess you already forgot January 6th.
  3. Here is what Trump has done for America!: Only 13 Presidents failed to get re-elected. Only 5 Presidents failed to win the popular vote. Only 4 Presidents have been impeached or resigned. Only 1 President has ever been criminally indicted. And only ONE President has done ALL FOUR. - DJT didn't lower taxes (He deferred them) - He didn't get Americans that healthcare coverage - He did not unite the USA, he divided it - He didn't lower prescription drug prices - He didn't get roads or bridges built He didn't decrease the deficit - He didn't end the opioid crisis - He made over 250 visits to his golf clubs costing us taxpayers $150 million - He didn't revive the coal industry - He didn't make covid-19 'disappear' He didn't make Mexico pay for the wall He is ranked the worst President in history He added $2 Billion a month in tariff costs to the American consumer He has a net-negative jobs creations for his administration He decreased corporate taxes, passing the tax burden to the workers He added $ 7.8 Trillion to the deficit - a full 25% of the total deficit He incited an insurrection against our government He is the only president to never achieve 50% approval. He didn't put "America first" and he sure didn't "Drain the Swamp... He left office with the worst job numbers of any President since the Great Depression with a net job loss over his term He is the first former president to be a CONVICTED FELON (34 times). The presidency is very much about character. Trump is a lowlife convicted felon. He completely blew it. Again. This man is his own worst promoter. He should stop talking. Nearly everything he says is nonsense, pure fabrication, or outright lies. Not sure what he thought he would gain by this appearance, as he does not do well with audiences that do not displaying total fealty to their Master.
  4. I always find it remarkable that some uneducated Republicans continue to call all Democrats radical leftists, communists, or Marxists, as if there's no such thing as a Centrist Democrat. Wouldn't the same apply to Republicans? Does that mean that there are no moderate Republicans, and every Republican is an extremist in your incredibly narrow and highly ignorant point of view?
  5. Is a human parrot in the forum today? Sounds alot like a parrot type repetition. Wonder if he has anything factual to do discuss.
  6. It doesn't appear that anything can happen in terms of a revelation about Trump's moral bankruptcy, previous crimes, or lack of character, which will influence his supporters. Most are aware of who he is, and what he is, and they're planning on voting for him anyway. So what could happen that could influence the campaign would be some ugly revelations about Harris. Let's see what happens, I still think it's her election to win.
  7. I don't think he's had ever had the respect of the military, he has certainly never had the respect of the intelligence services and from what I hear has the respect of very few soldiers and veterans, and all of that is for very good reasons. He is not a patriot, he disrespects valuable allies, and he shows great affection and regard for despots and dictators, and that makes him a very dangerous and compromised man.
  8. A national debate on the issue of safety has to be a positive thing, however the debate should not be about whether or not they should have school field trips, the debate should be about public safety, traffic safety, incredibly corrupt officials within the land transport department, incredibly inept people that are running the country and why they aren't doing anything about this issue, and the ability to get VIP treatment with a small payment to an official who's responsible for determining the safety of a public vehicle. Sometimes it's necessary to break through the fog in order to get to the real issue that's at stake.
  9. I left Samui almost a decade ago after living there for nearly a decade. When I arrived there it felt like paradise, and when I left it felt like it had become an old dish rag in a restaurant kitchen that hadn't been cleaned in 2 years. The overdevelopment was rampant, the lack of local pride was rather sickening, the unwillingness of the authorities to clean things up, to improve the aesthetic of the place, plus the overcrowding, massive traffic issues and price gouging were were more than I wanted to deal with. Some of the smaller towns here are still delightful and the quality of life is high, and the cost of living is low. For many of us Thailand is still very close to paradise. Granted most of us that are saying that are people who have limited means, and if we were wealthy enough we would likely be spending a good portion of the year elsewhere.
  10. We cannot cower in the face of threats of defamation. These are laws written by small men, to protect criminals, miscreants, those unwilling to offer a good product or service, and other fools.
  11. Criticism of the government, questioning of the authorities, questioning the status quo, activism, and desire for change and progress are always discouraged by those in power here. Sluggard dinosaurs.
  12. And even bigger shock was caused by everybody who heard about this nut Job owner keeping 29 cats in one room. The real question here is why hasn't this person been institutionalized or given significant amounts of mental health assistance?
  13. I honestly believe that America has never been this crazy. I think that society and culture in America is getting dumbed down as time goes along, and I do believe that America is not progressing as a culture, and as a nation. However having said that, I think a lot of the same can be said about the rest of the world, though Thailand seems to be just a bit less crazy, thankfully.
  14. You don't think bombing Beirut is escalating the war? Really? Honestly? Sincerely?
  15. I think when it comes to Aviation they know that they have to keep themselves up to International standards or the governing bodies will shut the country down. They're so dependent on tourism dollars that they would never want that to happen, but when it comes to something like traffic safety, especially if it were a road course as opposed to an enclosed course like they have in Buriram, that would have to be a huge concern. So I guess the answer is yes and no, all depending on the area we're discussing. In general the safety standards are very lax, most would agree with that.
  16. If she was proactive and aggressive enough, she could get all the money back from this fool. She would just need to take action into her own hands, engage in massive public humiliation, and shaming by outing this guy on every level possible, and my guess is he would pay her off just to get his life back. I've used this technique before with great success.
  17. He likely offered her a million dollars to do an interview. It's been a very, very long time since the former first lady has said anything nice about her husband, and one can certainly understand where she's coming from.
  18. Corruption can be a rather heinous thing on a lot of levels, but when it's allowed to seep into areas of traffic safety, public safety and transport, that is where it drops to a depth that is unfathomable. The top officials in the land transport department should be held accountable for this, and losing their job would not be enough. I would suggest to 5 to 10 year prison term for a negligent homicide would be appropriate, it would certainly send a message, and not this kind of message: Paying 3,000 to 4,000 baht would hasten the process slightly while paying more would be considered as VIP treatment.
  19. I was not of age to serve. What did Trump do?
  20. Israel reminds me a little bit of Thailand, they're constantly pretending to be a democracy and yet they behave in the exact opposite manner, when it comes to criticism of the government and criticism of policy. If anything Thailand is infinitely more tolerant than Israel. If you don't love us, if you don't agree with everything we do, we despise you. There are no gray areas, it's all black and white with Israel. They could not possibly be more wrong if they think escalating the war in the region is going to solve anything.
  21. Correct he served in a country where combat was taking place, however he worked in an air conditioned office drawing up press releases, not quite the same as being on the front line is it?
  22. I worked in commercial real estate in New York City in the 1980s and though I never worked with Trump directly I knew a lot of people who had direct dealings with the man, they all said the same thing, they all warned everyone to avoid working with him on any level. The same result always happened, he was always very predictable, stingy, and dishonest. And he preferred a lawsuit to paying his debt to a contractor.
  23. They're eating the dogs they're eating the cats, they're stealing your pets. That one statement summarizes the entire Trump cognitive decline situation. It also summarizes how weak this man is, you give him a compliment and he loves you for life, you insult him and your enemy number one.
  24. Yes very few people who have worked with Trump have actually gotten paid, so they tend to have ill feelings toward him after he's robbed them of their money. It's easier to make a fortune when you have no morality.
