  1. And I'll bet you are still using that iron. They make great products.
  2. Well, let us hope he beats the huge guy by a great margin. I agree, Trump is a disaster.
  3. This will not happen. Far too many Thais would abandon Thailand and stay in Europe. There would be a mass exodus. Thailand still suffers from the Prayuth Decimation. The economy is hurting badly. Wishful thinking on the part of a PM, who has no contact with reality, nor any use to the people of this nation. And we thought Prayuth was incompetent.
  4. Perhaps many nations are cautious about investing billions in a non democracy? One that consistently steals elections? And one that moves backwards? One with out of control corruption, and leaders appointed based on fealty to the army, over merit or skill.
  5. It does not mean anything. The army is doing everything it can to get rid of any opposition, or anyone democratically elected. Sretta is not in power because he is smart or competent. He is there to make sure the nation continues to move backwards, and the fortunes continue to be collected. Pure and simple.
  6. Arrested for one pill for personal use. Such inane stupidity. The RTP will do absolutely anything in their power to avoid fighting crime. And nearly anything to earn cash. 99% likely they asked him for some cash, which he did not have, or he was not astute enough to offer them their "franchises fee". The deplorable RTP. Lock them up.
  7. Always Electrolux. Spend the extra money. Well worth it.
  8. We can't take the risk of any reform, or forward movement. We can't change the status quo. After all, that could affect the billions we are earning. Change is bad. Money is our God. We are not bothered that they won the election. We don't believe in democracy. It represents the people, after all.
  9. I don't think it's true. I don't think very many foreigners attack women. I think for most of us it's just not our style. I do hear a lot of stories about domestic abuse perpetrated by Thai men, whether or not it's true I really have no idea. I have no first hand accounts of this thankfully. And I don't know any guys that beat on their women here or elsewhere, thankfully. Regardless of who's doing it, it doesn't get much lower than beating on a woman.
  10. Yes I am a Biden supporter by default, I don't particularly think he's a great president but I don't think he's a bad president, I think he's too old for the job but I think Trump's too old for the job. I do think he's a decent man and I think Trump is fairly close to the devil incarnate, so I'm not left with much of a choice. Trump would steal the sweater off the back of his grandmother if given an opportunity and he could profit from it.
  11. My guess is that his wound is about as self-inflicted as Epstein's suicide. America is a country that is run by corporations, the government is not influenced by corporations, it is owned by corporations, and these corporations pretty much do as they please. To consider the possibility that many employ espionage, assassinations, and other dark arts does not exactly stretch the imagination. This was likely an assassination just like Putin's opponents were assassinated. There is likely not much difference in integrity between the Kremlin and American corporations. When that kind of money is at stake anything is possible.
  12. It is astonishing to me that this man is still around and that he is still wielding this level of influence. What's even more astounding is the Christians actually believe in this man and consider him to be a man of faith. I just can't even imagine who this man really is, but I doubt that he's a real practicing Christian, nor a man of virtue.
  13. We have already made premature conclusions and have decided that all branches of the Armed Forces in Thailand are corrupt beyond the reaches of the average person's imagination. So for us to think in terms of commanding officers asking their underlings to do special favors my guess is that this is a daily occurrence. What they really need to investigate is where the hundreds of billions of baht are going each year with regard to the army, the navy and the air force. They are likely as corrupt as the RTP, Immigration and Customs.
  14. What I would really like to know is why are such a significant number of ladyboys so troubled in terms of mental health? It's just unbelievable how many stories you read about ladyboy theft, ladyboy violence, ladyboy this, ladyboy that. What is the story? I am very grateful when I wake up in the morning and look in the mirror and am completely content with my sexuality, and I would imagine it has to be very difficult to deal with those kinds of issues on a daily basis. So, to some extent I can understand some of the challenges, but it seems like Pattaya is the world center of mentally challenged ladyboys, who are really poorly adjusted, and not making much of a contribution to society. Am I wrong, am I seeing this from a warped perspective?
  15. Since he is accomplishing zero here, I guess it does not matter. And it gives him a chance to be wined and dined at Michelin starred restaurants, and try some vintages of Lafite Rothschild, and Domaine Romanee Conti he has never had before, due to the silly, punitive, ignorant luxury taxes being imposed here.
  16. The primary culprit is the burning of sugar. Will they intensify the fight against Big Agra? I doubt it. Rarely do the government cowards stand up to their masters. They display total fealty, even if it means people are dying of lung disease.
  17. Why does this even matter if he is being kicked out of Thailand, and his visa is being revoked? Or, have they changed their minds already?
  18. Caviar and lounges do not make an airport. I guess this means they do not have to do the hard work now. It is a free pass.
  19. My Thai woman just applied for and got a Schengen visa for entry in Italy, and she got a multiple entry but it was only good for two weeks beyond the actual time that we're staying.
  20. Just another excuse for these officials to not get involved, not do their jobs, not think these things through, not engage in any sort of traffic mitigation when new developments are improved, and not lead the nation forward.
  21. Yeah he surely seems to be looking for some kind of attention. Perhaps he was an aspiring actor when he was younger and continually got passed over during auditions. It feels like he's trying to squeeze out his last 15 minutes of fame. Or at least some kind of recognition, but the level of vapidity of his topics is setting the bar at a new depth.
  22. I do tend to agree, I don't particularly like Biden, I just dislike him less than I dislike Trump. However I do think Trump was the 44th worst president ever, and Biden might be somewhere around the 30th worst. Neither are particularly good choices, and the fact that we're reduced to those two choices says a lot about where America is today.
  23. Many of us feel that Biden is doing a far better job running the economy than Trump ever did, with his endless trade wars, sanctions, and his inability to negotiate his way out of a paper bag.
  24. The one thing that's not being talked about at all this discussion is the economy, and how waging of war affects the economy. I think right now with the combination of the Russian and the Israeli Wars, the economy is being affected rather dramatically around the world, with a lack of consumer confidence, fear and a great deal of uncertainty having a dampening effect on spending. At least we know where to put the blame.
  25. I always suspected the Swiss were not neutral, after all!
