  1. Very lame. Nearly every time I see someone complaining, or observing a shortfall within Thailand, some lame guy, who has not taken the time to think things through, nor to devote any focus or effort to a reasonable reply, says something like "Perhaps Thailand is not for you", or maybe you should leave, or the top prize, "if you do not like it here, go back to your own country". Hard to even respond to such inane statements. Why? Because I have some issues with the place? Sorry to inform you, but the nature of a discerning mind, is to have issues. Though absolute contentment must be a beautiful state of mind, it is not something most of us are blessed with, in case you have not noticed. The fact that I complain, does not mean I do not love Thailand, nor most of it's people. I do. I love my life here. I have a very good life here. But, I do have some complaints, most are in regard to the feeble level of governance here, and there are some things I would love to see improved. I should leave because of that? And besides, I do not drink cheap wine. I leave all of it for you. Please. Next time you make a post, try to devote at least two moments of thought to it.
  2. Oops. You mean the narrative was not as stated? I thought questioning it was illegal.
  3. Ordering fresh potatoes online?
  4. He looks like someone just informed him his big smile and a small rebate will not be enough to bring the economy back from the devastation wrought by the former administration. Oh well. You mean we need a real plan? Say it ain't so!
  5. So many are guilty on this one. From Prayuth on down to the justice department. The last thing in the world they even wanted was his return. We all know he is above the law. Always has been. Any and all laws. Just the way it is here.
  6. Since Thailand is so obsessed with numbers, matrix, statistics, arrivals, estimated earned income from tourism, etc. I suggest we apply a number to Sretta. When you combine his dazzling smile, his height, net worth, and slick sales ability, I think he is a solid 9. Anyone agree?
  7. No. Not likely there will be enough to offset the plunge in consumer confidence, and the market jitters, once the DOW gets below 20,000. I think it could drop as low as 3,900. And I see real estate dropping by 60% or more. Houses and condos for sure.

  10. This guy is so full of hot air. Let's wait to see if he can actually do anything. So far, nothing but the silver tongue. Talk is very cheap. You know how to get more foreign investment? Make some sacrifices! Thailand is not the (COKU) center of the known universe.
  11. There is a good chance the price of houses and condos will drop significantly here, over the next few years, as a substantial worldwide correction takes place. Land is likely safe here. The condo market is way over built.
  12. I wonder if he mentioned that Thailand ranks 131st in freedom of speech, 127th in freedom of assembly, 114th in governance, 136th in institutional trust, 102nd in executive constraints, 84th in contract enforcement, 84th in adult skills, 116th in emissions, 118th in the protection of forests, land and soil, 82nd in restrictions on international investment, according to the The 2023 Legatum Prosperity Index? https://docs.prosperity.com/3716/7689/5368/Thailand_2023_Picountryprofile.pdf
  13. Good information. Thanks. So many people are simply unaware of the degree of heinous behavior on the part of the CCP. They are evil, toxic, dangerous, and nasty. They just don't care. It is beyond international pressure having an effect. They are absolutely drunk with their power, and wield it without one nanogram of grace. As much as I dislike the US being the world's policeman, I dread the possibility that China may one day take their place, and begin organ harvesting in Nebraska, Paris and London.
  14. Yes, and Person of Interest too. The spying and surveillance these days is mind boggling. We have to fight it, and resist it, in whatever way we can. I wanted to like that show. It ended up being less plausible than 24. Way too many leaps of faith for me.
  15. A good start. Now, lets see a real investigation of the high crimes committed by the "three Pors" and other ministers within the toxic and horrific Prayuth administration.
  16. They are not even attempting to be coy about the plans that were very obviously put into place long before Thaksin agreed to return. All this was set up, and pre-arranged. We will sacrifice all of our ethics, morals and principals as a party, if you let dad come home, give him a very short, somewhat ceremonial prison sentence, then make him an important part of the administration.
  17. Focus on something important, rather than these highly trivial nothings. How about the airport. which is critical? Air Asia has been interested in using Hua Hin as a regional hub, for years now, and all they have ever gotten is neanderthal style foot dragging from the officials here. Hua Hin Airport is one of the least utilized airports in Thailand, possibly even in the world. Shame on these guys. They can do so much better. Thailand desperately needs more regional airports, especially within a few hours of Bangkok. Anything to ease congestion, and save souls from the nightmare of getting in and out of Bangkok has to be a good thing for the nation and it's people. Shame. Shame. “We will begin by growing the flight base at Hua Hin Airport with a focus on international destinations, and domestic travel and our numbers will take time to grow. We will get started immediately working with the town and recruit local businesses to participate in our new programs, Open to the World and LIVE-LEARN-WORK-PLAY, in Hua Hin,” Laroche said. Ha! Amusing at best.
  18. Chaloam is pleading guilty as a staffer in a government organization or government office. Ha! One more reason to never trust the government. as if we needed another one.
  19. We are subject to such massive levels of intrusion these days. Cookies everywhere I look. There are little things we can do. Do not ever sign into google, while doing searches. Go into every cookie options window, and reject all cookies. Use a VPN whenever possible. Always keep your computer camera hidden, or blocked. Little things. They will not change the world, but why make their job of spying on us even easier than it already is?
  20. Perhaps the Chinese should educate themselves on what their own government is doing to the minorities in the West, and Falun Gong members. Falun Gong practitioners across China are subject to widespread surveillance, arbitrary detention, imprisonment, and torture, and they are at a high risk of extrajudicial execution. The party-state invests hundreds of millions of dollars annually in the campaign to crush Falun Gong, while simultaneously engaging in exploitative and lucrative forms of abuse against practitioners, including extortion and prison labor. https://freedomhouse.org/report/2017/battle-china-spirit-falun-gong-religious-freedom The Chinese government has imprisoned more than one million people since 2017 and subjected those not detained to intense surveillance, religious restrictions, forced labor, and forced sterilizations. https://www.cfr.org/backgrounder/china-xinjiang-uyghurs-muslims-repression-genocide-human-rights And they are scared of the Thais? This is somewhat bizarre. But, I guess if you are not a minority in China, you simply do not get persecuted, unless you speak out against the CCP, or dictator Xi. I allow no personal freedom to my people. We harvest organs for profit and punishment. We oppress our minority populations. We barely allow any imports and make it difficult for companies to sell their products in China. We ignore territorial boundaries and claim ownership of the South China Sea. We are nearly the only nation to have subscribed to a zero covid policy, even if it meant putting millions out of work. I have just been appointment PM for life. Or, close to it. Impressive, huh? Want to be like us?
  21. Very sad indeed. We are talking about one of the most materialistic cultures on earth. It should not come as a surprise.
  22. I have no idea, but I do wonder why stealing an election, and placing a non elected PM in that position could possibly alienate the voters. And when you yak, yak, yak like a used car salesman, and yet do nothing, why does that invite even more skepticism?
  24. This is the sad truth. The days of Thailand being able to attract wealthy tourists and ex-pats is in the rear view, for 20 different valid reasons, which have never been addressed by the "arrogant ones". The vast majority are low income, with some middle income tourists. There are some exceptions, of course. There are alot of 5 star properties here, and luxury villas. But, nothing like before. And I hear occupancy is way, way down in those properties.
  25. In this one move, Sretta and the PT have shown that they are not only anti-progress, but are regressive, conventional, conservative, and backward leaning. They are on the wrong side of history. The war on drugs has failed miserably, and ganga should never be an illegal substance, anywhere. Plus, so much money has been invested, and the economy is already on the brink of further collapse, after the "Prayuth Decimation".
