  1. Maybe you should be lecturing the bought and paid for senators. They need a good tongue lashing.
  2. Yes, Putin is a good and noble man, and does not have any aggressive intentions. And the earth is flat.
  3. Russia is a highly barbaric nation. And it is run by a serial killing despot dictator, who has stolen billions from his people. What is the West supposed to do? Stand by and watch him kill women and children like it was a sport? I am thrilled they are helping to defend Ukraine.
  4. These seantors and party leaders are heathens, and traitors to the nation, and their own people. Let us please stop calling Thailand a democracy.
  5. The only thing they got wrong in this article is this: Local residents intervened, restraining the aggressive dog by tying its mouth and feet, resulting in its unfortunate death, presumably due to suffocation. That was the great blessing in all of this. One less murderous hound to contend with. Every dog in Thailand that bites a person just once, should be put down.
  6. And in a nation where resale values tend to be quite high, that says it all. Older Chinese junk. No thanks.
  7. Let me understand this a little better. You are referring to ALL expats, and ALL tourists as riff raff? Have a rather low estimation of foreigners, do we? And FYI. Government officials here do not have plans. Getting through the day is the extent of the planning they do.
  8. Just say NO! We must absolutely refuse to pay these jacked up fees. If no foreigners went to these parks, maybe the goons would rethink their idiotic and racist policies. On a certain level, I understand their desire to charge more to foreign tourists. But, there should be a policy for ex-pats living here. We support the nation on countless levels. So a drivers license, or a pink card should be all that is required, to show we are residents, not tourists. Asking us to pay these prices is dumb and dumber. Not to mention arrogant, and deeply offensive.
  9. This is not news worthy. People do this all over the world. Only the Thais would somehow find this offensive. It is not. It is what it is.
  10. Urgent notice to Prawit. If you quit politics, it would be the best thing for your nation. Perhaps, it is not too late to do something that actually benefits the people? Don't you already have enough cash?
  11. Sometimes one must just shake their head in disbelief. Of all places to not misbehave, it is aboard a flight, in this day and age. You are just asking for major problems. I guess this just comes down to a total lack of self discipline on the part of this moron.
  12. That is true, however the MG was re-branded, and the Chinese incarnation of it does not have a decades long track history.
  13. It is just a lease. Things change, and if I was in the landlord's position, if given sufficient notice by a good tenant, I would refund their deposits. Just common decency. Sometimes, the law is the law. Sometimes, common decency stands above the law.
  14. Long ago, the Bank of Thailand Governor Sethaput Suthiwartnarueput described a fragile and uneven economic recovery with the country trying desperately to move beyond the disaster inflicted on the economy in 2020. Talk about an understatement. How and why was this disaster inflicted upon the economy? I would go one step further, and include the Prayuth decimation as one of the causes of the economic stagnation we are seeing now. This was not entirely circumstantial, and the revisionist history is already beginning, it would appear. So many things could have been done, to ensure a softer landing, when covid was not a factor anymore. The highly selective economic shutdowns which favored cronies, at the expense of the average Thai were punitive and extremely damaging, resulting in higher suicides, homelessness, crushed lives, countless lost businesses, and a further spread of the disease. The destruction of the tourism industry (which some might argue was a purification campaign in disguise, meant to get rid of nightlife and the sex industry) went on far longer that it should have, leading to far fewer tourists returning here, as the nation has largely been forgotten. The restrictions were way too much, for far too long. Very, very cowardly, and very, very damaging. How long will that damage last? No question, millions of Thais are still hurting. I know taking responsibility for one's actions is not exactly a strong suit here. But, Prayuth, Phiphat, Prawit, and Anutin are directly responsibility for much of the economic woes we are seeing now, and should be held responsible, and called out on this. The numbers do not even begin to reflect the amount of damage done to the cash economy, which is never counted in unemployment numbers, lost GDP, lost businesses, etc. Covid was one small factor. Irresponsible actions, an extraordinary lack of leadership, choosing a vaccine with the lowest efficacy available, refusing help from the international community with the vaccines, until it was too late, and showing extreme cowardice by keeping the door to tourism closed for far too long, and then opening with draconian restrictions, were huge mistakes, and someone needs to be held responsible.
  15. Stiff them for the rent. See how long it takes to get evicted. Throw the nonsense right back at their faces. That is what I would do.
  16. Likely, more like a canary, if his tiny hands were ever held to the fire! One can only hope that day will come. Lock him up!
  17. Yes, of course it is my opinion. They are not time tested. Only many years of use will reveal if they hold up like their Japanese or Korean counterparts. I don't think they will. The interiors and engines look very cheaply made to me, as a sacrifice for a good looking and seductive enterior, at a low price.
  18. It requires alot of effort, but is worth it. It is all about positivity and perspective. Our mind can be our greatest enemy, or our best friend. Better to make friends with your mind, if you can. It can be a real ally. LOL. Some have said the mind is like a restless drunken monkey, that has been bit by a scorpion. It races all over the place, creates all sorts of problems, and becomes very mischievious, if you let it. Inner discipline is difficult, but worth trying to develop. The first thing I would ask anyone suffering from a loss of passion for life, is how much time per day do you spend on social media, or listening to the news? Both are ways to strip the mind of joy. Both can be very caustic and toxic. Disengage from negative information. Although social media platforms provide plenty of benefits, like making meaningful connections and receiving social support, they can also affect your psychological health. Distressing news and social comparison all affect your capability to think positively, as well as your self-esteem. Taking a break from social media will help you focus on the present and disconnect from negativity. Some more ideas: Listing down what you are grateful for may help you appreciate the positive aspects of life, instead of dwelling on problems. Gratitude provides emotional and interpersonal benefits and is associated with better physical and mental health, increased happiness, and an overall sense of well being. Keeping a gratitude journal can help you think more positively in life because you realize how well things are going. Practice mindfulness. To avoid getting distracted by negative thoughts, consciously engage in the present and be more mindful. Take the time to acknowledge the good things. Being mindful of your thoughts and feelings helps you understand yourself better and understand where your negativity may be coming from. The increased sensitivity to how you respond to situations helps you shift to a positive and more productive mindset. I find this practice very helpful, when it comes to gaining lost perspective. Gratitude is huge! Recognize when you entertain negative thoughts. To think more positively, you have to acknowledge and address the areas where you tend to be pessimistic. It can be about your career, social relationships, or even yourself. Focus on one aspect to tackle and consciously approach it in a more optimistic manner. Be introspective and identify why you tend to be pessimistic about that part of your life. Taking action to make positive changes will help you become a more positive person. Be in the company of positive-thinking people. The people you often spend time with greatly influence you, which means that their mindset can rub off on you. Negative thinkers may discourage you from believing that situations can get better, but positive thinkers will inspire you to keep hoping for good outcomes, especially when you're having difficulty to look at the bright side. Surrounding yourself with optimistic people will help you have a positive mindset. This is a big one. If you are hanging out with negative, critical people, it can be very taxing. Often, when faced with this, I just try to steer the conversation towards something more pleasant.
  19. They are a Chinese based company. No surprise at the lack of ethics, or service. None at all. They are selling an inferior product, that looks good, but is substandard.
  20. Very, very hard for them to morally justify these attacks, when their top dog is guilty of sexual assault, likely guilty of bank fraud, possibly guilty of getting with countless underage gals through his good buddy Jeffrey Epstein, possibly guilty of multiple orgies in Moscow hotels, that Putin has on film, which involved alot of yellow liquid, tax fraud, and for a fact we know he stole the vast majority of his fortune from banks, small contractors, and other unsuspecting and gullible souls. Are they conveniently forgetting who their guy is, what he is, where he has been, and what he has done? Really? You just cannot take yourself seriously when you back such a dark horse in the race.
  21. Find an agent. They all work directly with bent immigration officials. They will provide all documentation for you and proof of deposit. Will cost you 10,000 to 30,000 baht, depending on what you need, and where you go. I have even been referred to these agents by immigration officials in the past. Or you can do it directly in the immigration office. Just tell them your issue, and ask for a "quote". And in the future, check your account balances at least once a month. This kind of thing is beyond the pale.
  22. Alot of people just do not understand how corrosive, damaging, degrading and nasty social media can be. There are an infinite number of scammers, predators and fraudsters out there. Most of us have the good sense to avoid them, and not get taken in by their unwillingness to do actual work for a living. It boggles the mind, to consider the number of people who fall for these scams. Someone calls you, or contacts you online, and you send them money? Someone you have never met? Someone you have not researched? What gives? Where are the survival instincts? How is a youngster supposed to have the wisdom to know? Granted being asked to send naked pics to a stranger is a bit much. But, I am sure it happens all the time. There is little chance of these people getting apprehended. Very little. And it is a strong indication of just how bent, warped and misguided contemporary culture and society is, that someone can be considered an idol or celebrity just because they have alot of followers on Tik tok, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. There is a whole subculture in this world, who absolutely refuse to work for a living, and instead like to prey on those who are vulnerable, naive, dumb, and easy victims. It is our responsibility to be careful, prudent, willing to do some vetting, some research, some due diligence, anytime we part with cash. Especially online. Dealing with Ebay, Lazada, Amazon is one thing. You have recourse. But, dealing with Facebook vendors, Instagram, Youtube, dating sites, or any other social media, the scammers outweigh the real deals. People get taken every day. I get junk emails offering me at least $100 million a month. These people are parasites, they barely deserve the oxygen they consume, and we must do everything in our power to deny the online worms.
  23. I have had a question for a long time. Many Thais love durian. The price is now 130-180 baht per kilo, including the massive skin. So, when you buy 300 baht worth of durian, you are not getting alot of fruit. Yet, the Thais buy it like it was gold. They do not seem to hesitate to spend a days wages on some of it. How does that compute? It is probably the most profitable crop in the nation.
  24. This guy is such a clown. He stole the government for 9 long years from the people. He stole their economic well being. He presided over a horribly inept administration. He appointed a crony senate, that is causing a breakdown in the little bit of democracy that remains here. And he expects a peaceful transfer of power? He is asking for everyone to lie down, and accept whatever comes. Leave it to the army and the elites. Don't interrupt our actions. Be obedient. Do not rebel, do not resist.
  25. Rebellious activities of the teenage girls. My, my. Sounds like a movie plot. Rebellion can be a good thing in a highly conservative society. Based on the level of passivity we are seeing, I would say bring it on.
