Absolutely. Makes the bike so much safer and more responsive. I would guess most accidents happen around town. Not sure about you, but I put a fairly high value on life and limb.

Putin will not attend the APEC leader’s meeting
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Not a surprise. He is likely living in a bunker, surrounded by 5,800 ex special forces guys. Not an easy task for him to stay alive at this time.- 39 replies

COVID-19 infections on the rise among people not fully vaccinated

This will be my last reply, as it appears you are baiting me, at this point. My friends who are doctors largely agree. But, you seem to have your agenda. -
Is PTSD real or only weak people?
spidermike007 replied to georgegeorgia's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
The condition is very real. Far more likely to have been acquired from fighting a tour or two in a war, where there is no purpose, nor end in sight, and you are witnessing your buddies getting blown to bits, than a beat cop who has not even been involved in a shooting. So, though it is real, many likely use it as an excuse for early retirement or benefits. Lastly, no doubt society is getting weaker by the day. You simply cannot compare someone in his 60's, with anyone Gen Z. Growing up without social media made us far stronger and self sufficient. Social media is the single largest contributing factor, in the degradation, weakening, ultra PC, and less confident and capable aspects of society today. I would not want to be a youth today. Nor would I want to bring a baby into this world. Not ever, and certainly not now. -
Even back in the days of riding a PCX, always used Michelin. Now, with my new Forza 350, the Pirellis are like night and day from the stock junk the bike came with. That and the racing brake levers, and it is a totally different bike. Far safer and more responsive.

You are stuck on Delta. Omi is a whole different version, and far milder. -
Has the world gone woke or mad
spidermike007 replied to georgegeorgia's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
True that. And though I am very open minded, not conservative, and supportive of reasonable choices (is establishing the identity of a wolf or a cat a reasonable choice for a 13 year old in grade school?), I hate having this Uber PC agenda crammed down my throat. The liberals and extremist Dems are alienating alof of people with that zaniness. -
Do you believe in natural selection
spidermike007 replied to georgegeorgia's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
That is a very valid question. Some are good at dancing on their feet, seeing changes coming and adapting, when things get tough, when industry shifts, etc. Some are better than others, at taking calculated risks. Some just don't have any common sense. -
Do you believe in natural selection
spidermike007 replied to georgegeorgia's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Darwin was right. The theory of natural selection, means we all have to exhibit certain survival skills, to thrive in this world. Self protection is just one of those skills. Some have it, some do not. It is not a question of whether of not the theory of natural selection is true. It is a question of whether or not you have an inate skill set to thrive in this world. -
Nobody was ever saved from alcoholism by the 2pm to 5pm law. It is beyond stupid. Anyone can plan a binge a few hours in advance. Time to allow the adults to start make some decisions.

There are many occasions in life, where a grand buffoon simply has to be ignored. This is one of those times. This guy is talking out of his a°°. What can one even say? Has he ever heard of supply and demand? First the officials devastate the industry through cowardice and timidity. Now that demand has dropped alot, we should pay more?

AirBnb host tells me they never make TM30

It is the responsibility of the "owner or manager" of a property to inform immigration. This requirement is not on us, on any level. Means nothing to most of us. -
COVID-19 infections on the rise among people not fully vaccinated
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
3,458,000 people died of something in the US last year. We don't know enough about covid to know how many who died of it were very fragile, very old, very susceptible to any flu, etc., etc. To just look at the overall numbers and draw a simple conclusion is likely not accurate, nor scientific. -
COVID-19 infections on the rise among people not fully vaccinated
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Very bad read. The initial versions of covid were nasty. The subsequent variants proved themselves to be much milder. Omi is quite benign for all but the most vulnerable. The lack of fatalaties demonstrate that. Little to worry about now. -
What it costs to live in Thailand, on a budget ?
spidermike007 replied to Social Media's topic in Pattaya
Well, that is yours, and it is a rather monastic view of comfort. Some of us like our nests very nicely feathered. And a lifestyle that allows for a reasonable degree of freedom of movement and some luxury. This is an incredibly subjective area. And it is all about what one wants to do, and what one has to do in this life to survive, or live really well. -

Best to not worry yourself with things that are not your issue. It is on the landlord. Means nothing to us. -

It is more woke and weaker than ever. PC is the downfall of society and much of it is driven by the extreme toxicity of social media.- 244 replies

The only reason Thaksin is still relevant is due to the spectacularly low quality of the current batch of chumps. Prayuth can switch parties all he wants. He will still be reviled, despised and incapable of leadership. Fresh blood is needed. Youthful and full of ideas. The polar opposite of an extinct dinosaur.

COVID-19 infections on the rise among people not fully vaccinated
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
This is a nothing burger. The subsequent variants are getting weaker and weaker. The numbers in Thailand are far below what you would normally see from the flu. I got it. It was like a mild flu. Let's move on.- 159 replies

What it costs to live in Thailand, on a budget ?
spidermike007 replied to Social Media's topic in Pattaya
We all have different lifestyles, and some don't require much comfort. Nothing wrong with that. Depends on how much you have to work with. I prefer not to skimp. Like to eat out alot, like to travel alot, and have a younger woman, who needs to be maintained! Whatever works. I am thankful I have enough funds to live very well. -

If you are single, and are a monastic type, as little as 20 to 30,000 a month. If you have a significant other, or like some freedom of movement, don't like to count every baht, and want to enjoy your remaining years, at least 60,000 a month. -
You mean there is a movement to encourage the courts to actually do what they are paid to do, and the same applies to the cops? And favoritism is to be avoided? There is a change a coming. I feel it in the air tonight. Maybe society will eventually compel rational and fair behavior on the part of the most partial institution in the nation. The entirely broken judiciary system.
