This is not a real debate at all. What they should be debating is the horrible consequences of drunk during and domestic abuse from drunkenness. That is the real issue. How many people end up wiped out on the road from being a bit too high? Not many. How many people who are high cause horrific accidents? Not many.

Some drink to relax. Some drink to have a little fun. Some cannot stop once they start drinking. Some drink all the way into oblivion.

And on the highways? The black belchers there don't count? Is it too much work?

This plague of drunk driving could be fixed. Immediate and permanent confiscation of the vehicle when death is involved. A 10 year mandatory prison sentence. Permanent revocation of the drivers license. Killing someone while drunk is a very serious offense. When will they start behaving as such? Then they can move onto the root causes of drunkenness. Extreme dissatisfaction with one's life? Childhood trauma and pain that never got worked out? Or even looked at? An extreme lack of self respect?

This is symptomatic of just how decimated the Thai economy is at this time. Few want to admit it.

I do think we will see alot of anarchy in the years to come. It might be directed towards government. But, it might be directed towards top executives of banks, insurance companies, Big Pharma and Wall street too. Few will weep.
