Those bars may have relocated, but they sure were unable to attract many attractive gals. Even Nana is nearly dead. Most of the good spots upstairs are bereft of talent. A year ago it was better. Not sure what happened. Maybe the hot gals left, when they realized there was no real money to be made. It seems the fake puritans were successful in permanently damaging nightlife in Thailand.

Sukhumvit can be a challenge for dining. There is a good Japanese place on the corner or 24/1, that is reasonable and popular. Otherwise, the malls have a good selection of restaurants. Nearly all the good bars on soi 22 are gone. That was a great complex. Sad to see it torn down. The bar scene in Bangkok is greatly diminished. Still a great city, though.

In the US, he would likely have been shot and killed. He sounds like an absolute fool. Though I give the cops here very little reason to harass me, I find them to be relatively easy to deal with, and rarely ever do they overly flex their power like in the US. Some departments in the US are worse than others. Many cops there are drunk with power. Some are here too. But, not nearly as many, and they are significantly less obnoxious here.

It would be a good thing if the RTP started doing actual police work. But, since nobody takes these guys seriously, the warning does not mean much, and will not have much of an effect. However, if they backed up the warning with real action, the police might gain the respect they so desperately seek, more people would survive and less kids would be maimed and traumatized for life, by these horrendous creatures.

Issan is wonderful. Alot of lovely people, amazing national parks, gorgeous women, and alot to see. Also, some major cities. Some people are just highly judgmental. Ignore the ignorance!

In the US, cheap accommodations are a thing of the past. A friend just rented a small one bedroom apartment in Burbank. Decent area, but not high end, at all. $2,100 a month, +++. Short stay airbnb in this area are $1,500 a week, for a 40 meter studio. Food is outrageous. Big cities in the US are now more expensive than Monaco or London.

The world is a very different place than it was pre covid. So much has changed. I would consider going back to live in the US, if I found a sponsor, or a job, willing to pay me $3 million a year. And then, only for 2-3 years! Otherwise, I am happy to stay here. Less hassle. Less boring. Less predictable. Malls at home are fabulously boring. I kind of like them here. Good food, AC on a hot day, and amazing bird watching. And I would rather park 5 blocks away, and walk, than deal with the terrors of a crowded garage.
