Protesters Conduct Symbolic Cremation
The recent events are worthy of a mass funeral. Thailand might have been the tiger of SE Asia a decade or so ago, having been the 22nd largest economy in the world, but those days are long gone. So, I would say it would be safe to refer to Thailand as an up and coming country, post Covid. I would not be surprised to see Thailand in 75th place in terms of GDP, 20 years from now. There is absolutely no doubt the nation is moving backwards, on at least a dozen levels. And unless a dynamic leader like Thanathorn or Pita comes along, as is allowed to lead, the great tiger will continue to devolve into a whiny little street cat. Go ahead and stick with regressive conservative policies, resist change and progress at all costs, and run your nation into the ground.

Pita ordered to suspend doing his duties as an MP
They would have found another way to disqualify him. He was simply too popular and his policies upset the dinosaurs. And he is substantially more intelligent than the vast majority of us.

Online trends - do you know what is happening online? Do you care?
Kanye sneakers are a good example. 18 year olds were selling their cars, to buy a pair of $3,000 sneakers, at one point. Social media pressure. Losing one's mind. Subscribing to voluntary insanity. I can just take the bus. But, at least I have some hip sneakers. Dumb and dumber.

Pita’s Ambitions to be the Next Thai Prime Minister End
It appears that if you are highly popular here, if you are liked by the people, and if you have populist policies, they will figure out a way to get rid of you. The elite and the army are very corrosive, regressive and toxic forces here. Concerned only with money, their golden calf. They are destroying any prospects of a promising future, but since they have no vision, they don't seem to care one iota. Unless the people rise up, the dream appears to be dead, for now. Do they have it in them?

Pita ordered to suspend doing his duties as an MP
I was here during both the yellow shirt and red shirt shutdowns. I was in Bangkok walking around. People were friendly and cool. I would not be concerned about the people. I would be concerned about the cops and the army. But all bets are off this time. The people are pissed off!. Down with the heinous army. Power and victory to the people!!

PM Expresses Concern Over Potential Protests
Take a look at this list. Few look like decent, responsible citizens. It is like a casting call for the darkest, most evil among the population. I guess that is what the army had in mind. Scandalous, toxic, corrupt, evil army appointed senators. The people need to figure out a way to make their lives a living hell. https://www.senate.go.th/view/1/Members/EN-US

US ‘concerned’ about developments in legal system after Thailand’s election
The should be concerned. And they should STOP treating Thailand as a democracy, if they deny Pita as the PM. Thailand is NOT a democracy. “We are very closely watching the post-election developments. That includes the recent developments in the legal system, which are of concern,” State Department spokesman Matthew Miller told reporters, making clear the United States has no preferred outcome in the Thai election. “We believe this moment is an opportunity for Thailand to demonstrate its commitment to democracy,” he added. Huh? Is there any commitment on the part of the ruling parties? It would appear there is not only a lack of commitment, there is also no honor, no integrity, no respect for the people of Thailand, no dignity, and no willingness to walk away from the illicit gravy train.

PM Expresses Concern Over Potential Protests
You try to steal an election, and the last thing in the world you can expect is a peaceful transfer of power. Didn't you recently say you would "honor" the results of the election and the will of the people? Sir, have you no honor? We think not. If only you would heed the words of others. Leadership to me means duty, honor, country. It means character, and it means listening from time to time.

Pita ordered to suspend doing his duties as an MP
If they are not even going to allow a second vote, this means the people have to rise up. This is a call for a revolution, by the governing bodies, who appear to be hellbent on stealing this election, no matter the cost. They were never prepared for an election, and due to their hubris, I guess they never expected to lose in such a commanding manner. The people will not tolerate these goons much longer. My theory is that the army brass already knows this, and are now forming an escape plan. Hopefully into exile, but far better, into prison. They can fight a few tens of thousands. They cannot possibly beat many millions. And that is what we will see when this army created debacle is over with. They are utterly desperate to hang onto power, and access to the trillions of baht that likely generates for them. Using the LM and sedition laws shows how utterly intolerant of criticism these very small, very weak men are, that they need to hide behind and utilize these laws, to attempt crush the will of the people. The fact that they are not even willing to discuss any sort of reform says it all.

Online trends - do you know what is happening online? Do you care?
I am online alot, but don't care for Twitter, or Instagram, and refuse to watch Tiktok. I abhor the whole viral nonsense thing. It is a symbol of a declining culture. The more popular something is, the less interest I have in it.

Pita and his “devil may care” attitude
He is asking for only one modification of the law, which is the extreme prison sentences, and the inability to use them for political purposes. It is a very reasonable request only hard headed dinosaurs would not agree to.

Thai organisations challenge Senate’s prime ministerial authority
If the senate ends up denying the will of the people, all bets are off. There will be mayhem. The people are tired of the power games and the army, the EC, the charter courts, and this administration have all lost any credibility, that they may have once had.

How to handle Thai women becoming “attached” right away?
Well, we all seem to have a very different definition of what girlfriend is, or is not. I hear some men or women talk about being in love with someone after knowing them two weeks. All that is, is anxiety, impatience, and the intense desire to be in love. Some are more in love with the idea of being in love, than with the person they are with. I think for most of us who are emotionally healthy, the idea of taking one's time to really get to know someone, is alot more informative and desirable, than just losing oneself in the moment. I have seen countless men lose their fortunes, or at least their financial stability here, by moving too fast, assuming she is someone she definitely is not, and projecting too much onto someone they have not bothered to really get to know, and allowing the woman to push the agenda. Always push back against a timeline. Always. It is far better to lose the woman, than to unnecessarily lose your money and feel like a fool. So, the best course of action, if to take you time to get to know her. Time allows clarity. If it is good it will only get better. If there are problems (such as the ones you are describing), they will manifest themselves over time. This is why you do not allow yourself to get emotionally invested, until you know who she is. That takes a year, or two, or longer. If she shows you she is not worthy of your affection, and attention, you walk away. Man up. Pay tribute to your gender. Show yourself some self respect. Do not allow yourself to be abused, and treated like a street dog.

German expat in Thailand faces death penalty for premeditated murder
Of course I would choose the death penalty, same as I would for this clown. There are acts a person can commit, which essentially self revoke the right to consume oxygen. No argument there.

Thai organisations challenge Senate’s prime ministerial authority
Section 272, intending to revoke the Senate’s right to co-elect the prime minister was a desperado move, by a heinous, highly toxic army administration. They knew they were despised, and they knew they would lose badly, in a fair election. So, they were going for a CCP, North Korea, Saudi style steal and essentially saying the will of the people means nothing. Anything that can be done to put these rabid, out of control power and money mongers out of power would help the nation.

Magazine ranks Thailand 9th best retirement spot on Earth
Panama and France are expensive. Only for the wealthy expats. If budget is a primary consideration, the quality of life here is quite high for most of us. I can't think of another country in Asia I would rather live in.

What was your wife/girlfriend's employment when you first met her? And what is she doing now?
She was a nuclear physicist, who graduated from MIT. Joking aside, she worked in a spa that I visited for a shoulder massage. I was smitten, at first sight. I know alot of guys who married bargirls. Only one of them is honest about it, when asked. My wife was a hooker. And now she helps run our hilltop resort.

Thai railway eviction saga: Low-income residents face displacement for high-speed project
Though their plight is sad, but this needs to be done. High speed rail is an absolute necessity, especially in the greater Bangkok metro area. The roads are choked and are only going to get worse. Next, they need to build high speed rail and cargo nationwide. They have been putting this off for decades and the Thai rail network is deplorable. It is third world, for sure.

Lawyer Not Afraid Of Senators Suing Him For Defamation
My mistake. Thought it was an image of an army appointed senator.

Remember this article next time you see a beggar in the street
When I was living in India, many years ago, I used to carry around a daypack, full of food, fruit, etc. When a beggar would ask for something, I would offer them food. If they were sincere, they would accept the food with gratitude. If they were a pro, they would just sneer at me. It was a truth barometer, and made it very easy to out the fools.

Senate clarifies absence of 33 senators during last Thursday’s prime ministerial vote
There is a mighty funny smell in the room. Smells like rotten fish. Smells like a giant lie, from a man lacking any sort of integrity, nor any barometer of truth.

Lawyer Not Afraid Of Senators Suing Him For Defamation
Threatened by unelected hooligans. That is rich. They are nothing but weak, pathetic, cowardly, self entitled, lowlife creeps, who are accustomed to a perch atop the ivory tower, scared to death of being taken down a notch, and being asked to be accountable for their heinous and unforgivable actions. Of course they will resort to whatever dirty tactics they can. That is who and what they are. Filth. They are the deplorables. It is great to see the people ignoring their callous threats of legal action. Call out the lowlifes, call out their business interests, boycott them in whatever way possible, shame them and their entire families in whatever fashion is possible. They richly deserve that.

Senator threatens online critics with defamation lawsuit after ‘cancel’ campaign
These lowlifes have been bullying the Thai people for many years now. Guess they never expected the favor to be returned. They all assume they are "above it all". Mightier than the masses. Too rich to touch. Well, perhaps things are about to change. Perhaps your lives are about to take a turn for the worse, and you and your families are going to be subject to intense harassment for the cowardly and highly dishonorable positions you accepted. After all, the fortune comes at some cost, right? You guys are weak, pathetic, cowardly, self entitled hooligans, who are accustomed to a perch atop the ivory tower, and are now scared to death of being taken down a notch, and being asked to be accountable for your heinous and unforgivable actions. Of course you will resort to whatever dirty tactics you can. That is who and what you are. Filth. You are the deplorables. And now, you show your true colors by threatening the people who voted against your masters, with a lawsuit? You guys should be sent into exile. Or arrested for treason, and sent to prison. That is what you deserve.

How to deal with a Thai woman?
One of the most valuable lessons I ever learned was to not try to win an argument with ignorance, manifested as a human. I just let them believe in their bizarre notions. Of course she was wrong. It is all about merit. A smart, ambitious and creative gal should be able to ascend to the highest levels she can. And there are times when a woman can and should pay, or at least split the bill. No honey, no money.

Opinion: Thailand is at a crossroads because of unelected, unaccountable bodies
You are talking about the same UN that certifies elections in Cambodia. You don't get more corrupt than Hun Sen. Despite losing the election, Hun Sen, one of Vietnam’s undemocratically installed leaders, became “co-prime minister,” while the CPP was allowed to nominate cabinet members and ministers. In July 1997, Hun Sen’s militarized political party launched an offensive, surrounding Funcinpec party garrisons and demanding that they turn over their weapons. https://thediplomat.com/2019/07/was-cambodia-ever-really-a-democracy/ And this is the same UN that approved of the Japanese dumping of millions of tons of partially radioactive waste into the Pacific. It is safe to say the UN carries very little moral authority, these days.
