We can assure you that we're going to surrender all the gains in territory that Russia has made. We can assure you that we want to negotiate directly with a dictator without your presence. Furthermore we can assure you that we're putting horrendously bad negotiators on the job in the form of both Trump and Hegseth. Lastly, we can assure you that Trump adores Putin and he will do his bidding, and we will give away our negotiating positions prior to the beginning of negotiations, like a terrible negotiator does. Those are our assurances to you the Ukrainian people. And Trump was complaining that we betrayed the Afghan people, what exactly is he doing now?

Looks like a pretty horrendous scene, when a place becomes that popular and gets that crowded it's just not fun anymore. Who on earth would want to be there hanging out with such massive sweaty crowds? I don't think so. I just don't understsnd sheeples anymore. The government should not complain, they're constantly talking about wanting to increase tourist numbers, and they've made the visa process so simple. What on earth are they expecting?

Elon Musk and his incompetent doge team
spidermike007 replied to OneMoreFarang's topic in Political Soapbox
Great point. The big question, is Trump the change that we needed? Is Trump the man that he says he is? Is Trump the man that his supporters think he is? Is Trump sincere about the well-being of the nation and its people? Will Trump put the well-being of the nation above himself? Will he destroy alliances and will he coddle dictators? Will he golf less than 150 times a year on the nation's dime? All that remains to be seen. I do have some friends that will come right out and say the man is a butthead, he's an idiot, and he's an absolute clown, but I like his policies. Those are the Republicans I admire. -
Elon Musk and his incompetent doge team

It's starting to appear as if Musk bought the proxy presidency and Trump is his underling. The four year old tells Trump to go away. You are not the president. LOL. great stuff. Musk is running the country. https://youtu.be/J6j-hncT4OE?si=UNVgTp_uli1WqhVi -
Trump Creating a 2 Trillion $ Sovereign Wealth Fund
spidermike007 replied to save the frogs's topic in Political Soapbox
Even just the thought of Trump doing something to benefit the nation, and to increase the financial security of the nation is beyond the ability to comprehend. That's just not who he is. -
Truth social is one of the biggest scams in the history of mankind, the company has absolutely no value other than that which his supporters put on it. If you doubt that, talk to me about the net profit of the company.

Mennwhike it becomes more apparent by the day, that Trump and Musk have a Bush Jr. /Dick Cheney type relationship. Musk appears to have bought a proxy presidency. Anyone in doubt should watch this video, where not only does Musk command the meeting with Trump holding his head down on his chest in submission, but Musk's 4-year-old son tells Trump exactly how things are. The four year old tells Trump to go away. You are not the president. LOL. great stuff. Musk is running the country. https://youtu.be/J6j-hncT4OE?si=UNVgTp_uli1WqhVi

Thailand Steps Up Enforcement on Illegal Foreign Teachers
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Thailand should be encouraging as many foreign teachers as possible, especially when it comes to teaching English. Most Thai English teachers are grossly incompetent, and it's one of the reasons why Thailand has the lowest English proficiency scores on the planet. It's time for this nation to man up, it's time for the adults in the room to realize that there are certain things that foreigners are better at than the locals, and to stop the extreme paranoia about a few hundred or a few thousand foreigners occupying specific positions that are needed and required. -
I understand that most hotels do ask for to see my passport, but I've never had a hotel ask to see my visa stamp, that was the issue. This is not required by law and this was something exceptional that the hotel required. If they're going to require something exceptional and then turn you down and not allow you to stay and complete your booking, which has been paid for, they must offer compensation or else they are just thieves in the night committing an act of piracy.

Did anyone see the press conference with Musk and Trump in the Oval Office? Musk's son appears to say to Trump you are not president you should leave, and then wipes a booger on his desk. At least somebody knows how to show this man the disrespect that he richly deserves. And the kid is likely repeating what Musk is saying at home.

A lot of these guys with guns are hotheads so I do agree that speaking some Thai would put you in a position where you are better able to diffuse a tense situation. I think a lot of these shootings are about simple misunderstandings and the loss of face.

This kind of thing is proof that civilization is not moving forward any longer, but rather we are devolving as a society. If anybody questions whether or not there is intelligent life on other planets I believe Earth is proof that there is. Can you just imagine if we were the only "intelligent life" in the universe? What a waste of space that would be!

I feel infinitely safer in Thailand than I do nearly anywhere in the United States. I think the same would apply to the UK. Though the homicide rate here is high, 99.8% of it is Thai on Thai, and it involves young gangs, young thugs, and wannabe mafia types. It's incredibly safe for expats, in all the years I've been here I've never had a single incident that's caused me to give this place a second thought. I have a friend who's visiting now from the San Francisco area, and he tells me that every night a car on his street either gets broken into or gets stolen. That's the nature of life in America right now. No thanks.

Scholz calls for state of emergency
spidermike007 replied to GroveHillWanderer's topic in The War in Ukraine
I tend to agree. I think Trump and his rank amateur bottom of the barrel picks are creating a state of emergency. In the first month of his presidency he has made the world infinitely less stable, and this man needs to be stopped. -
Very, very lame comment. Nearly every time I see someone complaining, or observing a shortfall within Thailand, some guy, who has not taken the time to think things through, nor to devote any focus or effort to a reasonable reply, says something like "Perhaps Thailand is not for you", or maybe you should leave, or the top prize, "if you do not like it here, go back to your own country". Hard to even respond to such inane statements. Why? Because I have some issues with the place? Sorry to inform you, but the nature of a discerning mind, is to have issues. Though absolute contentment must be a beautiful state of mind, it is not something most of us are blessed with, in case you have not noticed. The fact that I complain, does not mean I do not love Thailand, nor most of it's people. I do. I love my life here. I have a very good life here. But, I do have some complaints, and there are some things I would love to see improved. I should leave because of that? Please. Next time you make a post, try to devote at least two moments of thought to it.

I completely agree, and saying to a long-term loyal customer I am going to call the police because you are raising your voice at me is the act of a man with a very cowardly nature, no heart, no soul, no substance, and no idea about customer service or just simple respect. He was an absolute goon, who should never be allowed within a hundred meters of a hotel much less hired to work behind a reception counter.
-
Sorry Bianca, but even after having walked away from this absolute goon, we must still hold you accountable for having spent a lot of time with him. I don't know why a woman would even go have a cup of coffee with him, much less be his girlfriend. Bozo the Clown had infinitely more dignity than this man.

It is starting to become increasingly apparent that this man is not only a rank amateur making amateur mistakes, but that he's not the sharpest pencil in the drawer. Giving away the Ukraine concessions prior to the beginning of negotiations was a wet dream for Putin, and truly demonstrates how terrible and inexperienced a negotiator he is, and how terrible a negotiator Trump is. Both of these men are very dangerous.

If the public knew the true extent of his wealth, where the money came from, how much he gained from his ties with the army, and how much money he amassed during the Cha Cha Administration, I think they would not only demand accountability, I think they would demand that he'd be locked up for the rest of his natural life.
