Sounds like a very happy handed and incredibly creepy head man. I would ignore it with all the power of your being, do not comply. This is bordering on fascism.
-
Nothing much. This is a man who has made a career out of talking nonsense, he is semi insane and his brain just simply rambles in multiple directions. He has very few filters so when he thinks it, he says it, and it appears to make him an imbecile, a creep, and an idiot, all of which he is. In addition to being highly unstable mentally.

Right now a guy from India graduates at the top of his class from MIT as a nuclear physicist, and then he can't get a visa to work for an American company and benefit the American economy, because of the antiquated quota system If you're going to discuss immigration do some homework on legal immigration. There's way too much ignorance out there when it comes to the immigration debate. Be the solution. Don't be the problem.
-
As well they should, the quota system is hugely outdated, and it should be expanded to accommodate any and every foreigner who's highly qualified for a top end position in engineering, physics, M top management, medicine, the sciences, etc. The US needs more talent, not less It needs more brain surgeons and less landscapers and dishwashers. These details seem to get lost in the rhetorical morass that is currently the rage in the US, it's not about immigrants, it's about the quality of immigrants. Immigrants built America, period.

Who wants to Deny that Joe Biden was a Corrupt Liar?
spidermike007 replied to Yagoda's topic in Political Soapbox
If you're going to talk about Joe Biden being a corrupt liar then you simply have to be courageous enough to be willing to talk about Trump being a corrupt liar. Fair is fair right? As far as I'm concerned anyone who's willing to serve in a national office like that is a corrupt liar. There is no righteousness, there is no saintliness, these guys are all filthy 14 ft. alligators. -
Darwin was right. The theory of natural selection, means we all have to exhibit certain survival skills, to thrive in this world. Self protection is just one of those skills. Some have it, some do not. Some people do not do well when drunk. Those who don't, those who continue to commit acts of utter foolishness when drunk need to have enough self awareness to take great care. Alcohol can be very dangerous. On so many levels. So can idiocy and recklessness. Especially when combined with alcohol.

Anutin Launches Road Safety Campaign for New Year Holidays
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
One of the most useless, one of the most toxic, and one of the least competent men to ever pretend to be a leader in this nation, is leading a road safety campaign. I guess that's really all we need to know about the fact that lives are not going to be saved during the holidays and about how utterly insincere the authorities are about traffic and public safety. I have a novel idea, how about getting the highway patrol to actually patrol the highways, under threat of severe penalty. -

Putin Expresses Readiness for Talks with Trump to End Ukraine War
spidermike007 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
My gas is that Trump will show his fealty to Putin by agreeing that Russia should keep all of the territory that they've gained in Ukraine to date, and that negotiations will begin there. Russia will never give up any of the territory that it's gained, unless it's hand is forced, and Trump will be the last man in the world to force the hand of Russia.- 102 replies

Frenchman loses 6,000 euros to foreign sex worker in Phuket
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Sounds like he either might have been new to the game or just too drunk to bother, but the first thing that most sensible men do when they get back to the room is lock up their valuables, either in the hotel safe or even in a piece of luggage with a lock on it. Out of sight, out of mind. You just set a few thousand aside or whatever your obligations are for payment, and you just simply do not have to worry about the rest. These are crimes of opportunity, they're not going to break into the safe, they're not going to steal your luggage. These are just basic survival skills and tests of a man's intelligence. He deserved it. He was reckless. Lesson learned. -
This is the behavior of a half man. An undeveloped mind, a lost soul. Absolutely nothing there. He seems to have never been taught any values, and possesses no sense of ethics, like a wild forest animal. Where were his parents when he was growing up, and why did they fail so miserably? As a Westerner I can accept blame, apologize for an offense caused and take responsibility for my actions. We were being loud. OK, no big deal. I care not one iota if I "lose face". Means less than zero to me what others think of me. Some will say it is a cultural difference. True. But, what about the deeper aspects of self esteem and having enough of it to be able to act like a man? A real man accepts responsibility for problems he has caused. When that is being constantly deflected due to a pathological fear of looking bad in the eyes of others, that creates enormous problems for society. I despise the practice of face, and think it is the single greatest weakness of many Thai people.
-
Saudi style punishment, that's a concept I'm not ultimately opposed to it, but it does feel rather barbaric. Perhaps there are other alternatives, one would think that Thailand could create some sort of penal colony on an island somewhere where these people are forced into 70 hours a week of labor. Make them productive for society somehow.

Do Thais really attack foreigners for no reason?
spidermike007 replied to MalcolmB's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Well I tend to agree that Hua Hin is infinitely safer than Pattaya, unfortunately that's not saying much as Pattaya seems to be the opportunistic crime capital of Thailand. -
Trump’s Opportunity to Redefine U.S.-Qatar Relations
spidermike007 replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Not that there are any decent regimes in that region of the world, but Qatar seems infinitely more righteous compared to their foes the Saudis, and UAE, who are horrific beyond imagination, on a dozen different levels. -
Anytime a Russian ship sinks or anytime a Russian military plane is shot down the world celebrates. One of the most heinous nations on earth loses another ship or plane, okay life goes on. The reality is that nobody can label the Ukrainian fighters as terrorists, Russia is the true terrorist nation, and Putin is one of the world's most horrific terrorists, in the Ukraine war.

Thai influencer dies after alcohol stunt for 30,000 baht
spidermike007 replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The two really salient points about this. Number one social media continues to be the most corrosive, the most toxic, and the most degenerative force on the planet today. The second consideration is that alcohol does kill, and if you do drink yourself out of your mind you always run the risk of liver failure, every time you drink excessively you run the risk of liver failure, there are so many things that can go wrong when it comes to excessive consumption of alcohol. It really comes down to an instinct for survival and doing these ridiculous social media stunts are wiping a lot of people out of the world's population. Granted they are the less intelligent people of the world, but nonetheless they are dying. Alcohol is far more dangerous thing than drugs. -
Do you get on well with Thai People?
spidermike007 replied to BarBoy's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I happen to be incredibly fond of a lot of Thai people. I can't say I have a lot of close Thai male friends, though I do have some acquaintances. I do consider myself friends with a number of my woman's girlfriends who are just wonderful souls, kind, generous, funny and incredibly warm and pleasant. I also find the average Thai person I deal with on a casual basis to be very pleasant. I think a lot of it has to do with what we bring to the table, I think if we bring a sense of kindness and respect and humor that Thais are very responsive to that. I think they're remarkable people. However to be perfectly honest I was less upbeat about your typical Thai when I lived on Samui, so I think if you're living in a major tourist area you are definitely running into a different breed of folks. A lesser breed. -
Still love your Country?
spidermike007 replied to still kicking's topic in Australia & Oceania Topics and Events
That's a fairly easy question to answer, in my particular case I am from the US and I go back to visit two to three times a year, and I'm always shocked at how expensive things are, how dour most people are, how humorous they are and in the case of a lot of my friends and family they seem to be leading decent lives but they don't seem to be that fulfilled and it seems to be mostly a focus on eating, sleeping and making money. If you're single and you're over 50 that compounds the problem infinitely. And if you don't own a property that's paid for forget about it if you have to rent or pay a mortgage it's just insane. Adding healthcare cost and other things like that and it's no wonder the CEOs of those companies are getting gunned down. -
Well good on the police for apprehending these low-life street vermin. Slashing somebody with a 22 inch blade in the skull is acting with murderous intent and at the minimum they should be charged with attempted murder and locked up for 20 plus years. One stupid act and their life is finished, and that's what they deserve. Their parents should also be punished severely for practicing an extreme lack of parenting skills.

Zelensky condemns 'inhumane' Christmas Day attack
spidermike007 replied to webfact's topic in World News
Everything about the despot dictator, serial killing madman named Putin is inhumane. The man does not have a decent bone in his body. Think about it, what has Russia done for the world in the last 20 years? What benefits has Russia offered the planet? They are forlorn nation, a thieving criminal nation -
I once heard a philosopher say the mind is like a restless drunken monkey that's been bit by a scorpion. There's no question that the Mind can get a hold of us if we let it. It can be our best friend or it can be our worst enemy. You must exercise mental discipline And wrestle control of your mind. Whether it's through repetitive mantras, meditation, some form of concentration, or mental exercises. It's imperative that you do that or else the remainder of your life is going to be pure misery.

Fortunately attacks on foreigners like this are still fairly rare, though this does sound like a pretty horrible incident. Six young guys attacking an 80 year old man is about as deplorable as it gets. We don't know whether or not the police will take any action, but one thing we do know is that Pattaya continues to go downhill, continues to become a lesser version of itself, and continues to become more violent and crime riddled as time goes on. I'm hopeful that I never have to return to that rather forlorn spot.
