  1. While not showing any sympathy for the perpetrator, we all know that some wives mothers can be quite difficult to deal with. When asked for advice I suggest taking a long time to get to know the woman, and to make sure that you really get along with, and you really like and respect her parents and her siblings. Otherwise it's nothing but trouble, maybe not this kind of trouble, but trouble nonetheless.
  2. When I was living and working in India I realized that many of the beggars were doing this professionally or working for professionals who were collecting a significant amount of money from their work. So I started carrying around a daypack with fruit inside it, and when I would be approached by a beggar I would offer them a banana or an orange. The professionals would look at me with a great deal of disdain, whereas the real beggars would accept the fruit with gratitude as they were truly hungry. It worked!
  3. That appears to be at least partly due to a completely broken judiciary. Same applies in the US. This applies most especially to white folks. People of color are locked up, if they don't have good counsel.
  4. When I was in school, I remember being encouraged to use tricks and shortcuts (drop two zeros, add them at the end) and that made a huge difference for basic math. I taught my woman how to do that for currency conversion and she was shocked at how easy it was. She told me that kind of thing was not only not taught, but it was discouraged in school. Very dull and conventional teachers is perhaps one of the issues here.
  5. Evil teachers must be rooted out, shamed publicly, and punished. A prison term is appropriate for this creep, and then never being allowed within 500 meters of any school again.
  6. I wonder don't you get tired of repeating yourself? After writing the same thing 15 or 20 times doesn't it feel a little tiresome? Do you really think that you're educating me? In your alternate universe am I supposed to hate the lifelong criminal, and convicted sexual predator and felon any less just because he got elected?
  7. So very, very sad. I sure hope he fulfills even a tiny percentage of his promises, so you guys don't end up broken hearted.
  8. Finally after years and years Israel has done something beneficial and constructive. Hallelujah, this is a biblical event.
  9. I am in total agreement with you about that, however if I cared what you thought about me one iota I might be a tiny bit offended, but since I don't, I'm not.
  10. I am very sorry, unfortunately our newly elected leader is a man of spectacular ignorance, and the convicted felon and sexual predator who knows no bounds when it comes to decorum, dignity, diplomacy, or just how to be a decent person.
  11. You're a spring chicken, you have no idea how many of us would make great sacrifices to be your age again, take advantage of it, squeeze it for all it's worth, make the most of it. 51 is very young.
  12. People make light of the difficulties that some folks have with mental health, but it's a very serious thing, and it's very real. Many conditions can be easily treated with the right professional care, and the right medications. My heart goes out to this woman and this man, hopefully he will be found, and hopefully he didn't take his own life. Unfortunately, Thailand is very inadequate when it comes to facilities and treatment of mental health issues. The government here does not take it seriously on any level.
  13. You are correct that he took took on the Democrats, there's no doubt about that, but using dignity and Trump in the same sentence is an unbelievable degree of revisionist history, and an extraordinary level of denial about who the man is, and what he's all about.
  14. I've been trying desperately to find that button for blocking or ignoring someone like you, and unfortunately I don't seem to be able to find it. It doesn't seem to appear anywhere anymore, and that is truly tragic.
  15. It was intended as sarcasm, but even the interpretation of that requires some intellectual power. Did your mother tell you that you were special when you were growing up?
  16. That describes nearly every post @G_Money has ever written.
  17. He could not possibly be more wrong. It rarely serves as a gateway drug. That is a meme that the fake purists use often. Alcohol is infinitely more dangerous and addictive.
  18. That's funny. I called Musk the same thing recently.
  19. This amateur would not know a populist policy if it bit her on the ankle.
  20. Don't forget, us Democrats are responsible for all evils in the world, we are the ones who drink the blood of babies in the basements of pizza parlors, all serial killers are Democrats, most people who are serving life sentences in prison are Democrats. There are very few Republicans in this world that are bad people, all the problems are being caused by us, and don't forget the part about us being communist, anti-American, and traitors.
  21. I often wonder why things like this are relevant in this day and age, why would I care about what the most popular dishes are? Why would I care about what the most frequently ordered dishes, why do I care about which song is number one? Why do I care about the 10 most popular TV shows? I often look at these lists and I just can't relate on any level, what most people think is great I don't necessarily think is interesting at all. These days if something is exceptionally popular I typically run for the hills! Yikes. Super popular? No thanks.
  22. Prior to moving here I read several of the books that had been written about expats, and I must say that many of the stories were very helpful and very healthy warnings, and I likely avoided a lot of the traps that I've seen fellow expats get sucked in by, as a result of having prior knowledge of what she was going to say, and how she was going to say it, etc. etc. My grandmother is ill, the family buffalo is sick, I need to get a lot of dental work done, please help. Of course the list goes on and on. So go ahead and write your book, many of us would love to hear the stories. Fun fun.
  23. Thank you, a very good point. Woke seems to be kind of a catch-all phrase these days. I don't enjoy the work agenda at all, but blaming something entirely unrelated on woke is a completely different thing.
  24. This is a tragically terrible misinterpretation of the facts, this has absolutely nothing to do with woke. I despise woke, I despise PC, this is not what this is about. You know what this is about? This is about the middle class feeling disenfranchised and bitter, this is about people working their entire lives and having very little to show for it. This is about claims being denied that break families financially. This is about banks and lenders and rating agencies making terrible mistakes and guys like Tim Geithner, Blankenship, and Dimon, acting like vampires during a housing crisis. This is about subhuman beings like the Purdue family getting away with killing tens of thousands of people through the opioid crisis. And the Big Pharma mafia. And the predatory insurance industry denying absolutely reasonable claims and putting people in the poor house as a result. Corporations can continue to behave a irresponsibly, and price gouge all they want, but there has to be an understanding that there will eventually be a price to be paid. This is only the beginning, you watch, people are going to get more and more angry and these guys at the top of the totem pole do not have immunity. The average guy feels like a CEO has no right to earn 1,000 or 2,000 times more than he does, and the anger is just going to grow. This has nothing to do with woke, and this has everything to do with anger and resentment. Some people with frightfully conventional minds just cannot wrap their mediocre minds around the fact that there isn't more sympathy for this guy. Just because he's a dad we're supposed to feel bad? Please. What did he do for his community besides suck their blood?
  25. This is an astonishing development, condoms were found in Pattaya, the sky is falling, morality is slipping, and it is possible that people might start thinking bad things about our city. We are a wholesome place, we are a family oriented town, and nothing bad happens here, no foul play, no craziness, no mischief, little crime, nothing illegal, so leave us alone and stop leaving your condoms here please!
