  1. It's gone quite well, my language skills are improving, I'm quite close to my in-laws and I never have once tried to mow down a crowd of people, nor cause mass destruction. There are a lot of issues of the American people and with American society I can name. At least a dozen of them, however stating them in defense of your position doesn't really accomplish anything. Let me know all the wonderful accomplishments Saudi Arabia has made in the way of benefiting the planet in the past 10 years.
  2. This is the behavior of a half man. An undeveloped mind, a lost soul. Absolutely nothing there. He seems to have never been taught any values, and possesses no sense of ethics, like a wild forest animal. Where were his parents when he was growing up, and why did they fail so miserably?
  3. That would be a good description, in addition incapable, incompetent, not particularly smart, not a worthy leader, and a true Nepo baby.
  4. This would be a very wise decision, they likely need only 10% of the top guys to run the organizations. In general many of the Armed Forces here are of questionable value to begin with, especially relative to the enormous amounts of treasury that they suck from the nation. So anything they can do to trim back would be wise. However I would expect that the push back would be huge, and that it would come from very powerful and highly toxic sources.
  5. Trump is morally deranged and has always been completely bankrupt in that area, so it almost seems as if he prefers to surround himself with people who are equally devoid of morality and ethics. And watching the extent his supporters go to to justify these appointments and these selections and the absolute madness can be quite amusing. Welcome to the wild, crazy and completing nonsensical world of Don Don.
  6. This kind of thing is so incredibly common, oftentimes I see people doing things like this on a major highway without even bothering to look to see if there's any oncoming traffic. How do you merge into a major highway without looking to see if anyone is coming? Where is the Instinct and desire for self-preservation? The other astonishing aspect of this is that oftentimes I will look behind me and there is nobody for a very long distance so had this reckless fool simply waited 2 seconds, they likely would have had an absolutely clear path. It is the "I don't know where I'm going, and I don't know why I'm in such a hurry to get there, but I guess it's okay losing my life in the process, no big deal syndrome.
  7. Not only should Sharia courts not be allowed to exist within the UK, but all people practicing Sharia should be denied the right to emmigrate. It should be a prerequisite that in order to apply for immigration to any European nation you must prove that you do not subscribe to Sharia law and that you do not practice backward and horrific forms of Islam like Wahhabism. All Saudis should be banned worldwide from immigration to any nation, as there is no upside and no benefit whatsoever to the nation where they are emigrating to, and it would appear that they're the ones that who are least likely to have any interest in assimilation.
  8. Let's just go ahead and refer to your reply as the "Best Avoidance Of a topic Of the day". He's offended by my politics, and blinded by his, so he insults my lifestyle. Wow. Big man stuff right there, utter Tarzan power. Such a display of strength. We wait with baited breath for your continued articulation.
  9. What a hugely tragic result. More police malfeasance. LOL
  10. It comes down to perhaps the single most significant weakness most Thai people have. The pathological fear of losing face. Who cares what people think of you? For those of us with high self esteem, it just does not matter. Sure, close friends and family. But strangers on the street? Who gives a rat's butt about this? It means nothing what they think, nor what they say about you. Nothing, less than zero. They count for nothing. They are just people, and people you do not know, nor will ever see again. Face is rife with self doubt, and by subscribing to this weakness, and man or woman is made a far lesser person. I consider the practice of face to be the polar opposite of the practice of Buddhism, which teaches the need for introspection, contemplation, owning up to a problem, and taking responsibility for issues, problems and tragedies that you create in life. As many of us know, a percentage of the Thai population lives within fairly small boxes of social convention, traditions and expectations, especially on the part of the family. That is not a life that some of us choose. Those that are bold and courageous, will find a way to break past conventions, and live a fulfilling life, based on their own choices, independence, and esteem.
  11. That's a good question, when you promote your country as if you're trying to sell $2 items at a swap meet you're going to get a pretty low level of tourism. I can think of quite a few ways that they could promote the country to start attracting more affluent tourists, but they just don't seem to have the intelligence nor the vision to do such things. It would require the abolition of the wine taxes almost entirely, it would require the ability of wealthy tourists to get around easily which would mean short distance charters on prop planes and jets and easy access to helicopter travel, and several other things of that nature. Thailand just isn't up for that and it could be 50 to 100 years before the youth is involved in the control of the nation and they have the imagination for such things. The dinosaur is completely lack imagination and they are nothing but a destructive force holding the nation back.
  12. I don't know if it's just me or the way I see things, but it appears that Thailand has one of the weakest and least intelligent judiciaries of any country in the world. The decisions that they make on a consistent basis are what you might expect from a high school student.
  13. I should have qualified my answer, for young and good looking candidates getting a lady does not seem to be that hard but for guys over the age of 40 and especially for guys that are in there 50s and 60s or more, forget about it, game over. The US is an extremely age conscious society, and older people just do not count for much. Granted if a guy was willing to go out with an unattractive 69-year-old they're probably not that hard to find.
  14. Hey baby baby you're pretty cute, I like you, I want you to stop by my office later to discuss police business and the possibility of a promotion. It's kind of shocking and surprising in this day and age with this current atmosphere that guys can continue to get away with this sort of thing, but I guess I guess unless they're stomped in their tracks it's business as usual.
  15. This is what Trump does, he did it in his first term and he simply repeating himself. He does not go for high quality, he does not go for highly qualify, he goes for relatively weak-minded people who are also very obedient. That's the primary qualification, so expect low quality appointments, expect a huge turnover, expect a lot of people to be thrown under the bus, and expect another 4 years of the Trump circus. The last thing in the world that you should expect is a well-run government that is performing effectively.
  16. They have literally invited anyone who can afford a ticket to come to Thailand, in an utter desperation to increase the arrival numbers. There are no qualifications, the income requirements are low, and the quality of tourists that are being attracted here are increasingly lower. They just simply have to assume that they will get a percentage of nutters, super freaks, the bizarre, and those that just don't conform to any sort of societal norms.
  17. I've always found rainy season in Thailand to be the best time of year, many days that are overcast and cooler, some rain here and there but with the exception of the deep south nothing consistent enough to be annoying.
  18. I do not think lower speed limits save lives, nor increase safety, they just simply increase the number of people speeding. If you have a four-lane divided highway with a speed limit of 90 km per hour it's absolutely inane, and far too slow. I heard a few years ago that The Royal Gazette approved all four lane highways in Thailand to be increased to 120 km per hour, yet I still see many highways that have speeds posted of 90. Those inane laws are simply made to be broken and the fines are simply created to be ignored. I cannot even count the number of speeding tickets have gotten and have not paid and I've never had an issue with plate renewal, nor license renewal.
  19. The kind of attacks that you see described from time to time on this forum are extremely rare and in the couple decades that I've lived here I've never experienced one firsthand, nor do I know anybody who's ever been involved in one. I think generally speaking a foreigner has to behave pretty badly to be attacked here, or has to engage the wrong crowd of people, and the reality is that Thais are all about respect, so if you're treating them with respect and kindness It's very uncommon to be the subject of an attack. However, nitwits, dickheads and drunks are definitely going to be attacked more often.
  20. The driver of the white Mazda, Mr. Suraphop Pleesumthong, claimed he had been returning to his residence and lost control of his vehicle. This seems to be standard excuse, and one would think that perhaps they teach it in grade school, as it's such a common, pathetic and cowardly excuse. This guy killed, he committed a homicide. He took a life. He snuffed out the life of someone who was probably a good family man. Very very little sympathy will be felt over his demise. He was likely driving in a very reckless manner. An excellent result on the part of the community.
  21. You cannot possibly be further from the truth, sounds like you've never encountered the Chinese police. They are nothing like the Thai police. The last thing we need are some oppressive, deadbeat, ruthless, communist super freaks patrolling the tourist spots here. I suspect it would be met with great hostility.
  22. One Olympics does not define an entire culture. Many of us consider The Brits to be infinitely more sophisticated and urbane than the vast majority of Aussies, but that's just my opinion, and it certainly doesn't apply to all Brits.
  23. There is such a vast relativity between most of our incomes and what the average Thai person earns, especially in the service sector. I just think life is short and stinginess and greediness is just not something that benefits us on any level. Some guys seem to feel a sort of machismo in holding back, being tough and playing cheap. It seems to me that they've really lost the point and really lost the plot. A little bit that we give in the way of tips to show our appreciation certainly goes a long way here.
  24. There are some women that are so skillful at the game of being a predator that men have to exercise extreme care. I know a massage gal who is quite hot she's not amazing but she's certainly attractive, and the last time we got together she told me a story of a Japanese guy that had flipped over her and though they only slept together once he spent about a million baht in gifts and prizes on her trying to convince her to be his woman. Now granted this is a massage gal that's probably been with 4000 guys, and was in her mid 30s, but for him it meant everything to get together, why I have no idea. But she used her skill, she used him up and then she threw him under the bus like he was a piece of human garbage.
