For a "Jack & Jill" list try pattayacityexpats dotcom

An update for those using a pension (less than 65K/month) plus income deposit to satisfy the extension (retirement) requirements.

In Phuket Immi they now require "the balance" to be "seasoned" for 90 days.

I know the "rules" say otherwise but the over-riding "rule" is always that it is up to the discretion of the Immi officer you face (this came from the OIC) even after furnishing a copy of the Police Order saying "seasoning" is not required if using the "income plus" option.

Suspect the "requirement" is an attempt to stop/reduce the incidence of "account stuffing" !

    I'm sure you are right.

  3. The 'mafia' is an over ued word here, local bullies is more apt

I agree but down in Phuket they can get really ruff if you get into big trouble with the wrong taxi guys. its always hard to have to escape from an Island(If it comes to that)

Gobbledegook - you head up the highway north, past the airport turn-off (if not flying) and cross the Sarasin bridge to the mainland.

(2000 baht by tuk tuk 55555!).

  4. I thought exchange booths were for only exchanging foreign currency to Baht.

To purchase foreign currency you are required to comply with currency controls in a Bank branch?

Sooo - maybe She Cannot in the OP and at least was being truthful.

  5. There needs to be an investigation..Why did the police not with hold the passport? They had the person responsible for the accident..where talking manslaughter here. What were the 4 police officers doing when the car went through their check point? Are they there just for looks. I can only read what is presented in article and If he was out just getting mosquito repellent at 1am in the morning then why cant the locals go about their business without being killed.... The police have a lot to answer for here..anyway why not get the name from the car rental mob..Sad loss for the family

At no time did the police "have" the person responsible for the accident - so how could they hold her passport?

The car was rented in a third party's name apparently.

Cheers..... Strangely the ops / pins so far are pretty painless. Just the contorted foot as a result of the new angle.... Very painful - the mother of all sprains

Sent from my iPad using ThaiVisa app

You need some physio rehab and possibly orthotics.

Orthopods are often great carpenters (as was Jesus one told me 555!) but know little about consequent soft tissue damage and subsequent peripheral joint re- alignment.

Complain and ask for a referral.

If you don't solve this early you will be slow in your progress through to full weight-bearing.

    Nonsense

Best to post nothing if nothing is known

HaH a - So 40+ years of treating orthopaedic patients doesn't count?

I suggest you heed your own advice.

  8. This is the dichotomy - on one hand you have the "big face" of a huge three day party with drinking and gambling etc etc leading to the start of the ordainees period of self-effacement ...

But we are mere farangs who "don't understand" except that we see the irony that is unseen by Thais.

  9. I had a neighbour on a bush lot in the foothills opposite a housing development.

Every morning a dog came around at sparrow's fart and pizzed on his front door.

So he hooked up a 12v battery to the screendoor and put a large shallow metal pan of water in front of it.

Next sunrise I heard an almighty Yelp! and the stray was toilet trained I guess - it never came back.

  10. I did "get real", thanks very much, and thats why the comment.

Btw...the keyword was "hungry", not "angry". Slightly different slant really.

    ok, my mistake.

Btw, long time ago, at the end of a long, significant relationship, i was behaving exactly as you suggest to the OP.

I was avoiding women like a pest for nearly 2 years.. Jeez, i was wrong ..!

It's a bit like you fall down from a horse.. Better get up again quickly, without thinking too much.

    Of course, just IMHO smile.png

Thats why i mentioned to the OP that maybe my suggestion (as it is coming from a woman), might not be the best for a man.

Relationships breakups, even if for the better, are usually still painful to heal from.

    Good luck OP

If her new BF was a stud she might take some time to heal also.

P.S. Larababy - keep the meat for yourself - you sound iron deficient (in many senses).

  11. Change your domestic (home) bank limits for your account (and tell them you're in Thailand).

I'd be careful with taking that suggestion globally and literally.

Depends on the bank and the country.

If this is a U.S. bank with a U.S. address, saying your residence is now Thailand can quite possibly result in account closure.

Did I say tell them you're resident in Thailand?

Which 99% of expats cannot be as they enter here on "Non-Immigrant" Visas or extensions thereof.

It is always wise to inform any Bank in any international country that you may be drawing from Thailand - or they may well block your account.

No you didn't say you were a resident in Thailand.

But you didn't say you weren't either.

    Can't read minds. coffee1.gif

And you obviously can't read posts either ...

  13. There is a bigger gap in the market than the vroom vroom boys think for a locally available, step-through, automatic trike.

There are about 200 models available in China - tell you something?

And yes I'm disabled but my current electric trike which is capable of 30kph wont climb the hills to allow me to get out of Kamala.

At 80,000 baht and 125cc I'm definitely interested.

I think many ladies will be too.
