  1. Being that all Thai universities were online the past year the whole premise is a bunch of BS. Exams cant really be given online in Thailand because of the endemic cheating. So lots of easy projects to get a better score.
  2. Yes that was the only one. If its still running you can go. From Trip Adviser Just thought I would give an update for any future travellers wishing to take a car over to Koh Yao Yai. To book the car ferry go down a day or two before your travel date to Chianwanich Pier in Phuket Town. Very friendly chaps at the booking office there but you will need to speak some Thai to communicate what you want regarding outward /return dates and times etc. Suggest you talk with people at your hotel who you can call once you are at the Pier and they can arrange everything via your mobile. Arrived today with tickets in hand and was directed to “VIP” queue , 2 minutes later the car was on the ferry. If you like a cold beer in the evening then suggest you top up your car boot with a few while in Phuket as shops selling alcohol are few an far between on the island. We were able to book outward and return tickets for about 1140 Thb to include car and 2 persons. Ferry takes about 1.5 hours and docks just north of the Santhiya Resort. Looking forward to explore the island on 4 wheels independently at a realistic price over the next 4 to 5 days.
  3. The storms were isolated in a sense. Came from the east which is rare. I live in Don Muang and its the first time in 23 years my muban flooded. It did drain in just a few hours, but it was one hell of a 2 hour downpour.
  4. Street food is a lot healthier Mu Kata that is for sure. We mostly eat street food when travelling and I let the wife pick the joint. As I said we avoid Isaan food other than the barbecue. We were just in Trat, Chantaburi and Koh Kut. Great Hoy Jah, Kau Phat Pu, and various types of Kway Teow. Its always great.
  5. <deleted>? I dont eat unhealthy food, I do care about my health. Mostly cook and eat at home.
  6. Wow...you found a food review on the Internet ???? AN evening place? Ignoring that I mentioned three and there are many more. Try to not be so ridiculous; this is the Pattaya forum, not a Chiang Rain(sic) or Chiang Mai forum. Oh I am so sorry you must be right. Kau Man Gai is generally an evening dish. I guess old hands like you can really put young newbies like me in our place. ???? Do me one favor though, walk through any Thai town before 9am and see what is being served.
  7. I am happy you found an evening place, but please dont be saying wrong. Here is a food review of kau man gai and khao soi up in Chiang Rain and Chiang Mai. And since khao man gai is typically a breakfast meal and khao soi is usually eaten at lunch, we suggest just sticking around all morning so you can eat both meals here and judge for yourself.
  8. Sounds like a smart vendor, selling something people like at a different time.
  9. Any area selling at all. Kau Man Gai is more of a morning to mid day meal. When the chicken is gone they go home. Now Kau Mok the yellow rice is served later in the day as well..
  10. At Tops Chokchai yesterday was 45.50 a liter, I remember as it was cheaper than the wifes tofu milk at 55.50
  11. I would never eat Moo Katta, the quality of ingredients tends to be too low. The vegetables are bought near the spoil date and served quickly and the cuts of meats and seafood are of the lowest quality that can be bought due to the fact is usually sliced so thin they can get away with it. Yes when travelling I eat street food in street stalls all the time. Not so much in BKK anymore as we do most of the cooking at home, and pack lunches when going to work.
  12. Just as all the food I eat, nutritious, and tasty. Kau Man Gai, Kau Ka Mu, Krapow, Satay, Kau Phat, various noodle dishes. I simply go in read the menu "in Thai", ask a few questions and order if I am happy. Cheap, fresh, and fast. But as I said avoid anything Isaan other than the barbecue. My guess is you have gotten ill eating what I do not.
  13. Posting an article about sausages has nothing to do with what I said. I have not eaten a sausage of any type for years. Mystery meat to me. Stand by what I said and say to you. Just look at where you want to eat. Served me well. Oh yeah the wife and kids have never been sick either. Kids now live and work in the states and miss Thai street food a lot. One caveat, I only eat barbecued meats from any Isaan street stall.
  14. BS. I have eaten street food here for 35+ years. I have taken friends out many a time as well, none of them ever got sick. I believe the Thai's to be very sanitary in the preparation, and Thailand is known throughout the world as a street food Haven.
  15. Get a covid extension, you can do this until the 23 of May. You cant change Visa's inside the country, and yes through May you will have to do a quarantine if you leave the country. 4 years?
  16. What exactly does this mean? It makes no sense. Keep in mind this "mother" received 30 million baht in compensation from the boat owner. Before that and continuing until today she keeps on talking and creating more controversy. Very strange woman.
  17. I wish you luck, but at the same time wonder how you could have all these questions if you have been living and working here in Thailand for the last year?
  18. Sportsurge, free will have most the games, just go to basketball, then ncaa and you have games.
  19. All I know is your theory which I believe is wrong. What happened to the Police this time around?
  20. Urban myth, yes there is a gang of sorts but it sure is not controlled by the BMA and Police. Singh beer has formaldehyde in it as well right?
  21. I had a bad stomach for the first time in my life recently. Diagnosed as 'sour stomach'. After the first meds did not work well a young doctor gave me Esomeprazole (Esomeprazole) Sold as Axiago here and imported by Astra Zeneca. 350 baht for a pack of 15, once in the morning and it worked. Now on day 7 stopped with no symptoms at all.
  22. Yes it is, or a negative covid test.
