Condo Rental- security deposit etc
I rent for 4 or 5 months at a time. The deposits I normally give are 5k or 10k, understandable as they need to cover utilities. I arrive and get a daily room while I look for a condo. Works well. All the condos have agents in offices on the main floor to check availability so drive around and see what you like. Good luck.

Inside McCarthy’s sudden warming to a Biden impeachment inquiry
Trump wanted his impeachments expunged. They figured out that they couldn't. To appease Trump, the are dangling this out there. T will forget about his expungement wishes.h This has about the same chance of going anywhere as the rest of the right's nonsense investigations, like Benghazi, Clinton's email servers, Whitewater, fast and furious, etc.

“the coming global superstorm“ book from last century predicted this, also the movie “the day after tomorrow“. Hardly a new thing.

How can I make cost-effective or free calls to overseas landline numbers from Bangkok?
Google voice. Free calls to USA, Canada, and a few others. Cheap everywhere else, like $0.01 per minute. No monthly charge. Need to use vpn connected to USA to sign up. Use this number to call banks in Canada and the US for years with no problem. Free number that can be called. Missed calls to you get free message taking with transcribed message emailed to you. Etc. Tried skype years ago. Waste of time(and money) if you can get GV.

UFOs: Is the government hiding something?
I'm pretty sure the chariots of the gods stuff has long been debunked. I read it when it came out too and at the time was impressed, but being slightly more knowledgeable now I see it as a book of fiction. There are no aliens here. If there were, we'd all be dead or slaves. There's definitely nothing intelligent here that would interest a species capable of interstellar travel.

Is Elon Musk right to ditch the Twitter logo?
Disclaimer: I have never had a twitter acct nor perused twitter for any reason. So all the lingo will go away. No more “tweet“ing I guess. What's it going to be now? X-claim?

UFOs: Is the government hiding something?
I'll believe Neil Degrasse Tyson over Faux news, or for that matter, any politician, on whether the UFOs are alien or not. Tyson says that with billions of high quality cameras essentially everywhere, if aliens were here there'd be lots of high quality video, not the blurry tic-tac shaped blobs that are available.

Annual check up - Bangkok hospital , Khonkaen- A worrying experience!
I think they're talking about penis size, not height.

Annual check up - Bangkok hospital , Khonkaen- A worrying experience!
Why do you believe this is only a problem in Thailand? Got a CPAP machine? You may not need it. But the Dr who sold it to you made thousands of dollars. Etc.

What Movies or TV shows are you watching (2023)
I read a lot of sci-fi in my youth. The foundation series(9 books?) was one of my favorites, and the main 3 books were read multiple times. Ringworld is coming too, another favorite series. Intelligent sci-fi. Not like most of the Marvel crap.

What Movies or TV shows are you watching (2023)
I prefer season 2 over season 1. Probably because I'm reading the book again. Watching it weekly gives time to read along as the season progresses. They've changed it quite a bit, but the core ideas are still there.

"refused to bring charges" on Hunter Biden for tax evasion
Clearly this needs to be pointed out each time. How about by posting somethieng like: “Asean Now opinion piece. No external source“ each time stuff like this gets posted.

"refused to bring charges" on Hunter Biden for tax evasion
So then where is the link in the OP? One has to guess it's faux news but I guess the strategy is to now post this stuff with no source.

It works fine for my needs. I'd hold off buying the static IP until you found out if their shared IPs are blocked. In my case they gave it free when I explained their regular IPs were blacklisted. The torguard website shows all the options and costs for fixed IPs, etc.

Couldn't edit previous post. Unplugging your router will do nothing. As described above, it's the IP in England supplied by the vpn that counts. You could accomplish the same thing by disconnecting your vpn and reconnecting. By the luck of the draw the new IP you received may not be blocked.

What Movies or TV shows are you watching (2023)
The fixed IP i received was from torguard, the vpn company I now use. A local fixed IP from 3bb won't help because as soon as you connect via whatever vpn you are using their IP in England which the BBC sees and will still be blocked. Unplugging your router will do nothing. As described above, it's the IP in England supplied by the vpn that counts.

I had nordvpn for many years but found it was having issues too. I tried a bunch of others and was having difficulties with many that required support intervention. Finally settled on torguard. It was “acting up“ too, but the support, via email was spectacular. The problem I was having was that the service I was using had blocked the IP range used by the VPN and therefore I could not connect. BBC is probably doing the same. The support solution was to, for free, give me a fixed IP. This IP is not blocked. Wonderful. 3 years around $60 USD. Automatic renewal available at same rate. If I needed to pay for the fixed IP it would have been another $60.
