  1. Just in case you are in the same situation as me..... Received the SMS and emails to say that on July 1st I would received a user id/password email. Nothing. Contacted the help desk via the KOL website - 'contact us'. They said to call 1572. (Then press 2 then 4 then 3.) Called 1572, they answered quite quickly, and after a discussion, a wait, and another discussion, she said to go to my local branch and ask them. She then added, if they do not know what to do, tell them to call us and we will tell them??? The help desk also explained that I did not have my personal account moved to a Biz account on 1st July because I am over 70 years old!!! Soooo I trotted off to my local branch. After the usual one hour wait, I was called to the counter. I explained the situation. Lots of questions back and forth and the girl eventually said - call head office. I explained that head office said that you might say that and that you should call them and they will explain the solution to you. She called head office. The result....... I can use the existing KOL personal website until 30th September. I will then receive a user name/password on the 1st October for the Biz online website.. Maybe. (I will still be over 70 years old )
  2. I have quit AN but I just came back for this comment. It might help Krungsri online banking customers. I have a number of accounts with Krungsri , one of them being a business account. Krungsri Biz online Business accounts are staying online via computers. Went to the bank today to explain that I am unable to use phone apps and that I would be transferring my accounts to Kasikorn. The reply was that I could stay with Krungsri by opening a second business account for personal use. Just change your personal account to a Kasikorn Biz online account and you can still use a computer which is much more secure than the phone apps.

  4. Halfway through reading today's news articles, emojis suddenly disappeared from the articles. Is this just censorship to me or is there a problem with the system?
  5. I propose Anutin for that one. With Thamanat as my second choice. But they are not allowed near the money.
  6. Does that mean that age 12 is when kids start to drop out of the education system and 15 is when they start to work?
  7. But the fat-soaked, deep fried chicken from my friend on the street is soooo tasty and cheap. And the kids love it.
  8. With a minimum salary of between 21 and 31 baht an hour as well as a thriving economy, maybe Vietnam is doing a lot of things right. Lower salaries usually means cheaper costs for transport, accommodation, food etc. It is where I go for an overseas holiday.
  9. Swiss Franc? https://www.investopedia.com/terms/c/chf.asp
  10. Totally agree with you and President Abbas. What totally amazes me though is that these pro Palestinian (Hamas) supporters are supposedly intelligent, educated people. I guess that they still think that Elvis and Hitler are both still alive and that the tooth fairy is real.
  11. That is why I take it to the 'professionals'. The lads that work with me are very enthusiastic, but typical untrained Thais. They make everything work - eventually. Light comes on as soon as I insert the battery, and stays on. I did try pressing all of the control switches but no change Thanks for trying to help[ though. We have ordered a new remote.
  12. Thanks Crossy. Stupidly, I took your well meant advice. However, you obviously do not suffer from dodgy digits. At 74, my hands are often 'trembling' with the occasional jerk in a 'random direction'. (Plays havoc when I am using the mouse.) Took the remote apart and bits fell out everywhere. Managed to put them all back - even in the right places (?), fitted a new battery and....... ......red light on continuously and still does not work. Back to the drawing board.
  13. A typical Chinese, Russian, terrorist trick. Arrest (kidnap?) innocent people and use them as pawns in 'negotiations'.
  14. Yes really. They are by far way down the list of immoral and evil companies on the planet. If you look at the next line in my post, you see why. I have no fondness for Nestlé, but I do support fairness in business.
  15. I have not eaten in those places since I came to Thailand back when Noah wore short trousers. And I do not shop in IKEA - terrible quality. Several villas that we look after are furnished with Ikea Krap. Needs replacing on a regular basis.
  16. I do not drink Nestlé, but I do wish them well in this little enterprise. If Thailand wants overseas investment and to trade with western businesses, they must learn to treat them fairly. (I drink Chiang Rai coffee. )
  17. That forecast is going to need a bit more trimming methinks.
  18. It will not make much difference to those who slip the staff 2,000 baht for a 'pass'. Only the younger ones will save any money. (Reports in other places state that there will be an age limit.)
  19. As someone said to me a long time ago - corruption is so rife, we are stupid not to do it. Everyone else is.
  20. When any country's leader or government criticise something that China is doing, their official response is always 'do not interfere in another country's business'. Ditto China - with bells on.
  21. It's a bit sad when one celebrates increasing the annual income to almost $14 US per month.
  22. You may be pleased to note that I do not frequent any of the places/products that you mention. (I also avoid Chinese goods when I can.)
  23. But they can track him by checking his social media, following the F 1 circus as well as tracking his private plane(s). Then, if there really is an Interpol 'red notice' out on him, they can request an arrest. And if anyone thinks that he has not been back to Thailand, utilising the private family planes in the last 10 or so years, then they are being pretty naive. Instead, we have the 'lets ignore it and eventually it will go away' syndrome.
