  1. Yes - only these two are known to be free. It was in a previous article on AN.
  2. Many people are confused about who is committing genocide in the conflict. Hamas are the only one s that tick all of the boxes on genocide. From https://www.un.org/en/genocide-prevention/definition A mental element: the "intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such"; and A physical element, which includes the following five acts, enumerated exhaustively: Killing members of the group Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group
  3. Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has been publicly urging the Bank of Thailand (BoT) to reduce rates to stimulate growth. And I thought that he had resigned.
  4. He's just trying to frighten the west - and it works. At the moment, Putin has everything. Power, money, total control - everything. If he starts a nuclear war, he will have none of those things. He will be a lonely old nobody, sitting in his bunker until he dies.
  5. Sad to die so young. At least he died doing something that he loved. RIP
  6. I use Samui Steam Clean for the more heavy duty jobs. Derek and the team there are very helpful and if they are not the best solution for the job, they will tell you.
  7. It has nothing to do with the two motorbikes. The same thing would have happened if there were pedestrians there at the the time. It is just a terrible accident.
  8. The article in the BP states that there were no customers in the bar - just the staff. Would that still be 'operating beyond legal hours?
  9. Comfortable? Who are they kidding? I wear long sleeved rugby shirts when it drops below 22 C here. The coldest I have ever seen on the island is 19 C and that was a long time ago.
  10. 100% true. I am still 'under consideration' but it is already in the diary.
  11. I was told that Agoda and Booking.com are basically the same company - part of the same group? Just more choices on Booking.com
  12. key first then kick stand. As you say - if I do the kickstand first, there is a chance that I will forget the key. Especially as 1 schitte memory, 2 I usually leave the key in the ignition anyway. I leave the helmet on the mirror. Never put it away.
  13. Seems like a good solution to me. Walk until you are tired, fall asleep and never wake up. Much better than joining the Pattaya Flying Club.
  14. Here on the islands, I see many Thais driving bikes at night, with no rear light. I was told that they often take the bulb out so that they cannot be followed at night. I have no idea if that is the case here, but a stopped bike at night, on a dark road where one would not expect to see a bike stopped, would be difficult to see. Especially if there was no rear light. Also where the driver was wearing tinted glasses. Sad accident either way.
  15. Unfortunately, the butcher is unlikely to see the money that he is owed. So much for banking apps.
  16. Totally agree with the sleep apnoea thought. To the OP Ask the local doc or hospital for a sleep test.
  17. Approx 300 days of sunshine Hot weather Cold beer Spicy food Lovely people and this view
  18. Sorry Bob, but that ship has sailed. Too many ethnic Chinese running the country now. Xi is there best friend.
  19. Sad, but I have sympathy for the old lady. 93 with dementia, unable to walk. Hopefully at least, she has now found peace. RIP
  20. And where do 'poor Thais' get the money from to set it all up? The 'aid' that is mentioned in the article rarely has any cash left over for savings. Those folk usually live hand to mouth. Oh - silly me. I forgot - loan sharks where they only pay a gazillion baht a day in interest.
  21. Or replacing flood damaged stuff.
  22. But it is a great photo though. Putting the shoe on the other foot - how else can they get around to buy food? I suspect necessity rather then ignorance.
  23. Same as the guy from RB. He has not been convicted but there is/was supposed to be a 'red' notice out for him with Interpol. And he 'only' killed one policeman.
  24. But deporting asylum seekers probably is? Totally agree with your last statement though.
