Facial Recognition to Replace Boarding Passes at Six Thai Airports
I am sure that it is. All of my journey's start with Bangkok Airways and I cannot remember the last time that I had check in luggage. House to gate - 20 minutes.

Facial Recognition to Replace Boarding Passes at Six Thai Airports
I have always needed a physical boarding pass to prove that I have been on a flight when the air miles have not been updated. So what happens now? This is just another scam to get a big budget in the name of progress, syphon off the back-handers, run out of cash and fail to deliver until more money is available. Remember the bomb sniffing devices anyone?

Facial Recognition to Replace Boarding Passes at Six Thai Airports
I don't with Bangkok Airways. Print out the boarding pass at home and then straight to the gate. Security have always accepted the printed A4 version.

So the poor bloke had to resign because other folk are idiots? How dumb is that.

I tried it once. Spilt most of it so now I wait until I get out of the car.

End of days for a beloved dog
A difficult time when a best friend is unable to lead a decent life. I have had to have two 'friends' put down. One through age - couldn't walk or stand. The other through illness - constant pain. The only thing that helps is knowing that they are now both at peace. My understanding is that if the dog has no record at the vet's surgery, then the vet cannot obtain the relevant drugs. Good luck in your decision making. I hope that the dog does not suffer too much.

Phuket’s new tourism tax won’t affect foreign residents or workers
This particular money grab was introduced by the illegal junta some while back whilst Thaksin was still on holiday. All governments 'money grab'.

Notice to Collect International Postal Items question
The only time that has happened to me is when I was picking up a parcel for a friend. It was addressed to my house. I was called into an office at the customs house. The friend has shipped cards and gambling chips to himself (amongst other things). Paid a small 'fine' (no receipt) and took the goodies to the friend's place.

Is it a cobra?
Most snakes will go away if they can. Most are afraid of humans. Snakes will 'attack' if there is no escape route, if they have young, or if they have just caught some prey.

Home delivery of alcohol
The large supermarkets (Tops at Central etc) where I live, usually do not do home delivery of alcohol. I have been told that this is because of the uncertainty of the 'no alcohol to be sold between 14:00 and 17:00' law. ie when was it 'logged' on the till receipt. However, lots of smaller companies here will deliver alcohol. Mind you, many also sell all day, every day.

Carabao beer in Pattaya?
I do not know about Pattaya, but Tops and Tops daily here sell both Dunkel and Lager. I find the Dunkel a pleasant 'different' taste after 24 years of drinking tasteless Thai lagers. (I am an ex bitter drinker from the UK.) BigC here have withdrawn Carabao from the shelves( at the request of the two big boys???) As a total aside - I have just spent a few days in Phnom Penh. Lots of good craft beers everywhere in the area just south of the Independence Monument. 5 different craft beer bars less than a 10 minute walk from my hotel.

My Microsoft Word has been 'deactivated'. What can I do?
Totally agree. I have been using Open Office for years. No problems, just as easy to use and reads and writes word/excel/powerpoint documents no problem. The only Microsoft software that I use (to my knowledge) is Windows and File Explorer. (Firefox browser and Foxit PDF reader.)

Thailand Anticipates Full Recovery of Indian Tourists This Year
And with reduced costs of accommodation and travel in the low season, those two groups are happy to travel when things are not so hot and sunny. Indians have been the largest percentage of guests this month here where we work.

Fourth-Year Student Arrested with B354M Crystal Meth, Claims Father Left Drugs
Thai schoolkids are not properly educated in government schools. They are brainwashed to obey their elders and not to question or argue. The father has not lived with the child. He is just a remote figure, to be obeyed.

So, the ex PM of Thailand promotes northern Thai cuisine. The hope-to be president promotes McDonalds. That says it all about the two cultures really.

Thailand's Deep South Unrest: Tak Bai Deadline Drives Urgency
As sad as the Tak Bai was, it is wrong to blame this on events in the south. The killings and bombings were going on long before. The cynic in me thinks that this is a money grab for a bigger budget.

From grill to gold: Chicken vendor ruffles feathers in heist near Bangkok
What was he thinking? His body shape is a bit of a giveaway. I would guess that he cannot run very fast to the getaway vehicle. A bike with a sidecar is never going be nimble or quick. For goodness sake...
