Frozen pension tax increase
Tropicalevo replied to john smith's topic in UK & Europe Topics and Events
And the software steals your information and tracks you. I found out and deleted Skype. (I started receiving messages from people that I did not know.) It started when they were bought out by Microsoft. Back to your problem OP. Submitting a tax return should fix this problem. It seems that the two government bodies have no interest in helping you. The Revenue people will loose income and have to refund you. Why would they help? -
Good recommendation Crossy. A friend went solar - no batteries. The developer installed a digital meter. His electricity bill was higher when he was away so he installed batteries and went 100% off grid. He still received electricity bills. The new meter was charging him for the electricity that he was giving to them.

There are lots of politicians who match that description. Why single out the only one who helped the poor?- 145 replies

The concrete road along the north to Bottle Beach is just the same except that there is now a place called Moon Rock with access via a dodgy dirt track. Careful riding will get you there and back. The concrete road up the east coast has progressed to Thong Nai Pan and heads off to the west towards Bottle Beach. Again, after a while, an easy to ride dirt track until the last 2 kilometres. There are signs then stating 4 wheel drive only with a number to call. I thought about giving it a go on the bike but as I was looking at the way down the very steep track, someone dropped their bike and could not get it upright again. As I was on a rental, discretion became the better part of valour. 🏍️😎👍

Move To Reduce Speed Limit On 40 Busy Bangkok Roads To 50km Per Hour
Tropicalevo replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
What is the point in doing this if no one enforces the speed limits. From what I see every day, folk go as fast as they can or as fast as they want to go.- 61 replies

Digital love: 80% of Thais to swipe right on online Valentine’s gifts
Tropicalevo replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Who the heck would send their loved one Hair Removal Cream as a valentine's gift? -
Oh dear. 🤪 How will Samsung update my phone with the wifi turned off? Samsung have been trying to download updates ever since I bought it. Not been successful yet. The phone is quite old now but I can still make calls, send SMS's and take photos. That is all I need. Oh - and an alarm for 'beer o'clock' with friends

Thai PM defends 10,000-baht digital wallet scheme amid criticism

Somehow the phrase 'flogging a dead horse' seems appropriate here. -
Then you do not own the car. Has it been bought on hire purchase/loan? If it has, I believe that the lender keeps the book until the loan is paid up, and so they have to do the tax.
-
You just need the blue book and compulsory insurance as others have said. Watch the age of the car. It needs a certificate of testing after 7 years (? not sure exactly). This is similar to the UK MOT.

FTI urges protection for SMEs against surge of cheap Chinese imports
Tropicalevo replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
But China has been exporting cheap schitt to Thailand (and many others) for years. Thailand is even developing a new railway line to make it easier/cheaper to do so. Why is this suddenly a problem? -
Air Pollution Crisis Escalates with Hotspots Surge
Tropicalevo replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Pretty good here on Samui. Blue skies with a bit of cloud. What is the current air quality in Ko Samui? Air pollution level Air quality index Main pollutant Moderate 61 US AQI PM2.5 (17µg/m³) -
Hmm. 43 flights into Samui today. That is average for this time of year. Not a lot compared to Bangkok but a lot for an island with a small runway. No long haul flights. The furthest is Chengdu, Singapore, Hong Kong and Chongqing. As a private airport, the CAA puts a limit on the flights. I think that it is a maximum of 50 fights in per day.
