I can remember so many years ago,standing for the National Anthem in the UK was normal, very, very few did not. Slowly the practice died out, to the point it just didn't get played. I don't remember the late Queen Elizabeth II making any comment or complaint. However, she did command a great deal of respect, even from the teens in there own way.

The main problem I see here is the type of ID required? If the banks in Thailand do not state clearly and exactly what is required, I see many people having big problems. It appears as a half arsed requirement, ill thought out, other than designed to give as much of a problem as possible to foreigners who spend multi millions of Baht here.

There are some very nice, clean and comfortable rooms available for 500 to 600 hundred Baht, its just a matter of looking. I would guarantee you wouldn't turn your nose up at our prices at 400 and 450 Baht/night. On the other side of the coin there are places not to far away @300 Baht, and I wouldn't put my dog in them. However, Thai people do use them, but that's their choice.

I found the biggest problem was finding a bank with a short waiting queue. When you are 20th in line, a 2 hour wait is just a little to much.
