    Exactly! If he is a doctor, he cannot be a professor! If a professor he has graduated beyond a doctor. BUT, we obviously have a clear case here, of the dumb leading the dumb, and therefore his arguments can be totally ignored.

    Personally, I have my doubts as to the ability of most Thai teachers to train dogs. Dogs don't ask questions, they just do as they are taught, same as kids in Thai schools. The thing most often on a child's mind is "Why"? But in Thai schools, "why" is a dirty word. Until the quality of Thai teachers abilities are up graded to excellent understanding of the subject they profess to teach, dumb kids will be the result.

    I had lens replacement due to cataracts 4 years ago. Best thing I ever did. 20/20 vision now.

    I learnt a lot about Thailand from people I worked with in the UK many years ago, but it most certainly wasn't a jump that brought me here.

    Back in 1995 the major problem I had was stopping my 9 year old grandson from using the Para glide. The jet ski's were never a problem.

    More to the point, 'Had you not been, it wouldn't have happened.' That mostly appears to be the go to answer, when caught up in any kind of dispute.

    I think I would apply to put it off for 20/30 years, things may improve by then? On the other hand....

    With all your 'supposed knowledge', why are you not teaching in a Thai school? Perhaps then you could re-educate the Thai Teachers? Just imagine the difference that would make?

    Sincere condolences to the boys parents. Very traumatic to lose someone of that age. However, stupid is as stupid does, and there is no cure for stupid. The stupidity is in the serious lack of driving instruction. The serious lack of police in doing the job they are paid for, and the serious lack of education in any form, where people expect the other person to be aware of their own stupidity.

    Perhaps in another 50 years, maybe? The quality of teaching in Thai schools is appalling, but as it only really got started about 30 years ago, its still in the practice stage.

    Much as I may agree with your sentiment, why get all worked up about something you have no control over? Anyone who has been here for a week or more should know Thai roads are death traps. Even the sidewalks are not safe from morons who ride their motorbikes on them.
