The main problem I see here is the type of ID required? If the banks in Thailand do not state clearly and exactly what is required, I see many people having big problems. It appears as a half arsed requirement, ill thought out, other than designed to give as much of a problem as possible to foreigners who spend multi millions of Baht here.

These tourists contribute very little to either the social or economic fabric of Thailand and actually create a bad impression of the country. If you can find a clean and safe place to sleep for 500 or 600 baht, that sounds like a very low price.
There are some very nice, clean and comfortable rooms available for 500 to 600 hundred Baht, its just a matter of looking. I would guarantee you wouldn't turn your nose up at our prices at 400 and 450 Baht/night. On the other side of the coin there are places not to far away @300 Baht, and I wouldn't put my dog in them. However, Thai people do use them, but that's their choice.

In 1982 I took 6 small medical units in my car down to a distributor in the south of France. At no time till I handed them over did anyone look at the goods, all the authorities were interested in was a multitude of paperwork stamped and signed.
The single market was a tremendous boost to UK small business, probably providing the most lucrative domestic market in the world.
Then the uninformed decided to go back to the way it was.
AI Overview
UK small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have faced significant declines, challenges, and reduced competitiveness since Brexit, driven by increased trade barriers, compliance costs, and labor shortages.
Studies show product-focused SMEs were disproportionately affected, with food and drink exports to the EU dropping by 34% in the immediate aftermath.
AI is not the be all and end all, it can lie even better then MPs although it has not had so much practice.

Hell? A fiction place developed as a means to control. As I don't know you, it would be appreciated if you didn't refer to me as a friend. That way, no offense can be implied or accepted. Thank you.

Which god do you refer to, there are so many?
God only exists in the minds of men, for man's purpose.

Appears we have a Russian sympathiser, with the red thumbs down? I see the same on another post on this subject.

Such an uphill battle, I have never faced.
Even more arduous than rolling a giant boulder, uphill, by the way.
Might I suggest you get a much bigger boulder? That way you will be out of our hair for much longer periods.

I'd say math is not one of your strong points.
For a so called religious sect, I have to assume the followers of the Muslim faith, believe in the cruelest punishment for the most minor of crimes, and death to non believers. From what I read about the rulers of Iran, it certainly appears that way.

Next step is for EGAT to start investing in Solar farms and wind turbines.
So, destroy the environment to improve the environment!? Ed Miliband comes to mind, unfortunately.

Nor, never would I ever do such a thing.
I pay for it, just like most guys in Pattaya.
I could never understand why my mother used to tell me to stay away from Pattaya, when taking holidays in Thailand.
Thank you for answering the question I have worried about all these years.

A lady went to have her wisdom teeth removed. The dentist gave her a very powerful sedative
She later confirmed to the police she slept through the whole procedure
When she got o home she found her underwear was on inside out and back to front
It transpired she had been raped!
It all started when the lady said to the dentist, "I'm not sure which is worst, having a tooth out or having a baby?"
The dentist replied, "Make up your mind madam, I need to know which tool to use."

No doubt there are some recalcitrant immigration officers and that's an issue. However with 75+ offices suggest most have simple set rules to meet.
And strange to say, this is Thailand, and how often are rules followed??!!

Senator Proposes Law to Force Standing for Royal Anthem
in Thailand News - Discussion
I can remember so many years ago, standing for the National Anthem in the UK was normal, very, very few did not. Slowly the practice died out, to the point it just didn't get played. I don't remember the late Queen Elizabeth II making any comment or complaint. However, she did command a great deal of respect, even from the teens in there own way.
