  1. What's "sterilise" mean? Alcohol kills all known germs.
If the level is high enough, and I don't know what that is. I make beer, and if everything, vat, spoon, lid, bottles, tops, etc., aren't sterilized, the brew 'goes off', and must be thrown out.
Spirits will sterilize, but not sure about table wine, about 13% ??

  2. There is a plethora of Trump haters on TV. Not to mention congenital European socialists and British Fabians. I find them entertaining in their oft delusions. How about this: if Buffet dislikes the tax cut so much, he can always give it back! (as does Trump his salary).

Disclaimer- I did NOT vote for Trump
Blinded to reality by their hatred.

Lower corporate tax rates can only be good for any economy.

  3. Omarosa is on the war path.

    Wow.

"Omarosa Considers Writing a Book That Will Have Trump ‘Come After Me With Everything He Has’

    ...
She continued, “All the stuff that I just put on a shelf somewhere out of loyalty — I’ve been defending somebody for so long, and I’m now I’m like, ‘Yo, you are a special kind of f–ed up, and that special breed, they’re about to learn all about it.”"

Attaching ANY credibility to an 'adult' who speaks in the jargon of a prepubescent schoolgirl is grasping at straws.

  4. No need to come half way across the world to hang yourself, you can do that at home.
I would guess loneliness or a broken heart was the key factor. Perhaps he thought he had a girl here but it didn't turn out that way or perhaps he thought he would have a good time but somehow he just couldn't meet up with any people he could relate to. A deserted dormitory after several days of loneliness may have been the last straw, overwhelming him.
On the other hand he could have been suffering from depression he couldn't take anymore.
Or all of the above, plus five mostly empty bottles. Poor guy.

Dormitory living at 38?? Just awful.

  5. The headline is "former trump aide pleads guilty in russia probe", and as far as I can make out he's pleaded guilty to "conspiracy against the United States and lying to investigators, and he is cooperating with a federal probe into Russia's role in the election"

Which makes no sense as it is juxtaposed with "None of the charges to date against Gates or Manafort have made reference to any connection with Russian meddling in the 2016 election or possible collusion."

    I'm obviously missing something here.
     "
Yep, you are missing something, but it's only the mainly left press trying to make a connection where there isn't one, sensationalist bs reporting.

  6. Until the procedures that govern his duties are published, everybody's guessing. I'd guess he acted correctly, in an uncertain situation, call for backup.

That he resigned means nothing until facts are known. Then, and only then, can the Monday morning quarterbacks run off at the mouth.....IF they were right.

  7. So many news headlines nowadays are no more than concocted outrage at humans displaying human nature.

Visiting a prostitute - consenting adults engaged in an economic transaction in their own time - is now not only 'criminal activity' but 'sexual abuse'? World's gone mad.
    It's not that simple.

The aid workers are in a position of power, using their positions to prey on vulnerable people they are there to help.

I'm sure some will argue that paying for sex IS helping, but it's exploitation.

  8. Who picks up these stories and decides to run with them?

As usual it is over reported, and give it a few days and this kindly German is going to end up with a backlash of hate.

These people should just keep a low profile and stop drawing attention to themselves, they are putting themselves in a position to get shot down quickly.
It's almost certainly not the German seeking attention. It looks to me he's been given the attention, and is quite possibly embarrassed by it. Those of true philanthropic natures generally prefer no publicity.

  9. from the OP :

Lawyer van der Zwaan's father-in law is Russian billionaire German Khan, the founder of the privately-owned Alfa Bank.

I think Alfa Bank was the Russian bank which had a private link to a computer in Pennsylvania which very few people could access.  Sorry if this sounds like a whacky conspiracy theory, but I vaguely recall that computer connection (which cut-out all other computer chatter) was somehow connected also to Trump's people (or Trump himself) and Education Sec. Betsy DeVos' husband who runs Blackwater (a private military force).  I know I could google this stuff, but I'm lazy right now.

Regardless, there IS SOOOOO MUCH stuff to dig through.  Even with his crack team, Mueller's investigation could go on into 2020.  There are threads connecting Trump to law-breaking - that stretch in 1,000 directions.  Republicans would like to limit the scope of Mueller's investigations, but then they only have to think back to Ken Starr's investigation of Bill Clinton, ....and how that branched out in a dozen other directions - and finally focused on a stain on a blue dress.   The Trump-Russia thing is 10 times bigger than Watergate, and 20 times bigger than anything the Reps found on Clinton.

It does sound like a wacky conspiracy theory, but never mind, any day now the President will be impeached, then criminal charges will be laid...any day now.

  10. The political scientists are correct.  A trained monkey would have been a better President than Trump.  But rest assured, Trump's days are numbered....

[The details ― of Russian financing of Trump’s businesses, and of more campaign contacts ― are likely to be spelled out in further indictments, almost surely including members of Trump’s family, and in Mueller’s final report, which will look very much like a bill of impeachment.]

The Huffandpuffington Post is a strongly left biased organization so of course that would be their position!!!

  11. When the headline says it all...

Political scientists rank Trump last, Lincoln first in presidential greatness survey

    https://us.cnn.com/2018/02/19/politics/trump-lincoln-presidential-greatness-survey/index.html

I didn't need any survey to tell  me what I already know. The reality TV persona is barely even operating in a presidential capacity. Between golf, TV and tweeting, I doubt he has any time to spare for WH duties.

When para 3 says it all...giggle

    57% were Democrats, 13% Republicans!!

    Need one look further?

  12. You identify an irony lost on the NRA crowd.  Some of the people who jealously defend their constitutional right to bare arms were threatening armed revolution against our constitutional government if the voted didn't turn out their way.  No doubt they will threaten the same if Trump is impeached.
I suppose 'baring' arms is better than 'baring' a$$es?

  13. Either way it would get the UK and the EU out of this stalled situation.

If the Brexit vote wins again, there is no longer doubt and Brexit can go ahead in full speed.
If the Remain vote wins, then Brexit is cancelled and the kids of the future will read about this silly season from their textbooks.

Either way, this stagnation ends and people & countries can go forward improving their lives.

    Sounds fair?
    Sounds ridiculous.

The exit vote must be confirmed by a second vote for it to proceed, but one vote can stop the exit??

    Sounds nuts to me.
