  1. Because licenses are issued until your birthday, renewing on or shortly after your birthday ensures the 5-year validity period covers the maximum time, essentially adding up to 6 months extra. One year maximum after expiry. Hope this helps 😎
  2. Edit: I forgot to add this earlier — the DLT Training QR code is needed. The training can be done at home at your own time, and it’s valid for six months. You can just show it to them on the phone as a screenshot. Visit the Website: Go to www.dlt-elearning.com for the steps to Complete DLT Training (e-Learning).
  3. Just sharing my experience renewing my Thai driving licence at Chatuchak yesterday. This was my third 5-year renewal. I made an appointment a few weeks ago for 2:00pm. I arrived early at 1:10pm and managed to get parking after a few minutes – the security guard helped me find a spot (gave him 50 baht for the help). Went inside and they actually took me straight away as they had empty spots from the previous round. Documents I used: Pink Thai ID card for foreigners Yellow house book My expired Thai driving licence Medical certificate from a clinic After the document check they sent me up to the 2nd floor, where they organised the paperwork and gave me the forms for the tests. Then upstairs to the 3rd floor for the four tests. All the equipment looks new now and the instructions were much clearer than before. Tests included: Colour test – identifying traffic light colours Peripheral vision test – press the button when you see the side light Reaction brake test – press the brake when the red light appears Depth perception test – align the two sticks After passing the tests I went back down to the 2nd floor for the photo and payment. Fee for the 5-year car licence: 505 baht. Last time I renewed it was 605 baht, so it looks like the extra 100 baht card fee has been abolished. Nice bonus: my birthday was last week so the new licence now expires on 6 March 2032, meaning it’s valid for almost 6 years. Also worth noting: no restrictions on the licence, same as previously, using the pink foreigner ID card as identification. I walked out at 1:50pm – less than 40 minutes total, even though my appointment was for 2pm. One of the quickest and easiest visits I’ve had there.
  4. No, I searched by the old number so all of the details will pop up, as my previous submission was done with them at the office, and before submitting it I had to obviously change the old passport number to the new one and click submit thsts it...... Next time I can search with the new passport number as it now recorded after the online submission success. Hope this helps
  5. Yes the Australian embassy I'm Bkk mail to me after doing the mail in application no need to visit them no need to send in your old passport. Haven't exit Thailand since then!!
  6. This did not happen to me. I received a new Australian passport, in August 2025 completed the 90-day report in person in September, and the next time—about 10 days ago —my online 90days report lodgement was approved within a day. A long time resident of Bkk since 2006 on a non O Extension Thai wife......
  7. I wanted to share my personal experience with the Pink ID Card for Foreigners and why, for me, it has been worth getting. I first received my Yellow House Book (Tabien Baan / Thor.Ror.13) back in 2013, and later got the Pink Thai ID Card in 2016. Since then, I’ve used it regularly and it has made a lot of everyday processes in Thailand much easier. Here are some of the things I’ve successfully done using only my pink ID: Opened several Thai bank accounts (SCB, krungsri, GSB). Renewed my Thai driving license in Bangkok, including during COVID when it helped smooth the process. Got a vaccine appointment during the period when they were prioritizing Thais. Registered at my local government hospital (Bhumibol Hospital, Sai Mai, Bangkok). Received Thai prices at various attractions and services. Sold a car this year. Picking up parcels at Thailand post. Checking in at hotels. Using it as general ID for domestic flights accepted by staff at check-in similar to Thai IDs (but still carry my Thai driving licence just in case. For me, after nearly a decade of using it, the pink ID has definitely been worth doing. It doesn’t replace a passport and it’s not a residence permit, but for day-to-day life in Thailand—banks, hospitals, licensing, and local services—it has made things noticeably more convenient. Just sharing my experience a long time resident in Bangkok since 2006 😉
  8. I went to SCB on Phaholyothin Rd, on the way (they open at 8:30 AM) Got: Official bank letter Bank statement for two months Cost: 200 THB Then I was able to make my 10am online appointment that I made a month before, easy peazy out before 11am
  9. My SCB is also an EZ savings account. This is an E-Passbook account, so no physical bankbook is issued as you mentioned. Important: Since there is no physical bankbook to update, the bank balance confirmation letter must be issued on the same day as the immigration appointment plus the 2 months statement required I get it issued on the same day. I make a 1 baht transaction on the immigration day so the bank balance confirmation letter is greater than the 2 months statement as SCB's statement only shows the balance up to the end of the previous day. Both accepted by Thai Immigration for my non O Extension Thai wife the past 3 years since switching from Krungsri. Hope this helps A long resident of Bkk since 2006 😊
  10. Lost My Pink ID… Again! 😅 (Saimai District Office Update) Well, it happened again — or rather, the Mrs managed to lose my Pink ID this time! So off I went today to get it replaced (again) at the Saimai District Office. This time I decided to make an online appointment first — what a difference! No queue at all, was seen straight away upon arrival. Whole process was quick and painless. Still the same 60 baht fee, valid until 29/10/2035, new mugshot taken, and job done in minutes. Interesting detail: on my first ever card the number under my photo was 13 (that was back in 2016). On my previous replacement, the number under my photo was 303 (that was back in 2023). Now the number has jumped up to 800 — looks like a lot more people are getting their Pink IDs done these days! All in all, a smooth and surprisingly pleasant experience at Saimai District Office this time around. 👍
  11. For the past 3 years, since switching from Krungsri, my EZ acc has been accepted by Thai Immigration in BKK without any problems. So it should be fine —at Pathum Thani, but with immigration, you never really know unless you ask. Good luck
  12. No, the witness was my wife's sister she signed the form few weeks before we went. We prepared a copy of her ID and housebook but wasn't asked for it.
  13. Quick update - Extension Pick-Up Experience – October 17, 2025 at Chaegwattna @ immigration Bkk Just picked up my full-year extension today — super smooth process. ✅ Time: Took only 2 minutes at Counter L2, no queue at all. ✅ Parking: Parked at Centara Hotel, Level 4. ✅ Access: Walked straight through to the building on the opposite side of the immigration entrance — no issues. Everything was straightforward. Hope this helps others heading in soon! Good to go until October 31 2026!!
  14. No they didn't. I ve always prepared and submitted 6 pics in total — with 2 per page across 3 pages, and that's worked fine 😎
  15. Just a quick clarification about the 400,000 THB in a Thai bank account method that I use. My SCB is an EZ savings account. This is an E-Passbook account, so no physical bankbook is issued. Accepted by Thai Immigration for the past 3 years since switching from Krungsri. Important: Since there is no physical bankbook to update, the bank balance confirmation letter must be issued on the same day as the immigration appointment.
  16. Just sharing my recent experience getting my 9th extension of stay based on marriage to my Thai wife. Hopefully helpful for others going through the process. Location: Chaeng Watthana Immigration, Building B (Bangkok) Date: September 26, 2025 10:00 AM appointment booked online Parking Tip: I parked on the other side of Building B, near the side entrance next to the Immigration office. There’s street parking available – very convenient if you arrive early. Financial Method Used: 400,000 THB in a Thai bank account I went to SCB on Phaholyothin Rd, on the way (they open at 8:30 AM) Got: Official bank letter Bank statement for two months Cost: 200 THB Took about 15 minutes Funds had been in the account for over 2 months At immigration: Documents Submitted: TM.7 application forms + all the extra new forms Passport (Australian) + signed copies of all pages + Copy of Non-O visa + latest entry stamp TM.30 and TM.47 were NOT asked for – both are already attached at the back of my passport Marriage certificate +Kor Ror 2 Wife’s Thai ID and my Pink ID House book (blue) and my yellow book Photos of us (6) at home (outside with address visible, inside, etc.) Google Maps printout of home location and a handwritten map Arrived early, called in at 10:00 AM on time Officer was polite and efficient and took less than 10 minutes All documents accepted without issue Fee: 1,900 THB Result: Got the "under consideration" stamp Told to return on October 17th to receive the 1-year extension Final tips: Bring original and extra copies of all documents Dress neatly, be polite Parking near the side entrance was really helpful Hope this helps someone 👍
  17. Yesterday, north of Bangkok, I went to SCB for facial scan recognition after receiving a message on the app. I visited the local branch with my pink ID that I opened the account with along with the bankbook. They took my photo, scanned my ID, and I just had to sign on their iPad — the whole process only took a few seconds. Everything is working now; I even tested it by transferring over 50,000 THB!!

I've been a long-term resident of Bangkok since 2006. This coming Friday, I’ll be extending my Non-O visa based on marriage to my Thai wife.
  19. I m going in for the 90 days report also that's is why I m also doing this transfer stamps. I'm planning to do the Non-O Extension Thai wife on the 26th in the morning. However, I don’t want to do the transfer stamps on the same day, just in case there isn’t enough time. I just don’t trust both things to work out smoothly at Immigration in one go...... I’ve been living in Thailand since 2006, so I’ve learned not to push my luck at Immigration.
  20. Nah, no online appointments are available until October 7th so I will just go in next week and try my luck
  21. I am on a non O Extension Thai wife so this does not apply to me.
  22. how long did the process took for them to transfer the stamps? I'm going to do the exact same thing next week going in around 1pm and I have an appointment for the 90 days report at 2.30pm 1.30 hours is it a reasonable time frame? Thank you
  23. Thank you I had the true id thsts why I couldn't see it The minute I got/downloaded the true app I can see it
  24. Where about exactly in the app is that button? Thank you
  25. Good evening I also received that sms. Did the call center tell you that you can go to the branch and scan yr face? Same as you my KrungSri face scan works for me. SGB don't asks it at all.
