Digital tv box for local thai channels
SpaceKadet replied to villageidiotY2K's topic in Audio Visual AV
All modern TV's since years back have a digital tuner (DVBTV) built in. No need for an external box. Just plug the antenna cable directly to the TV. That's what I use at home on a 3 year old Samsung TV. At some time, years ago when the broadcasters went digital, the Thai government were giving away the boxes, but they were meant for people with the old CRT TVs. -

Thai Woman, 20, Sentenced to Life in Sweden for Murder
SpaceKadet replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The problem is that "life imprisonment" in Sweden is a maximum of 18 years, according to Swedish law, and generally shorter if there is an appeal. So she could be out in 10 years or so... IMO they should just re-instate the death penalty. -
I read you DOOM brother. But you can play the original DOOM I and II on windows 10 nowadays. I do... Nothing beats the originals.

Ah, missed that post. It's clear now, thanks.

Actually, it seems that CPU is not included in the license activation. My i9-13900KF died a terrible thermal death, as described elsewhere, and had to be returned for replacement. As a temporary replacement, I plugged in a 12gen i5 CPU fully expecting the usual hassle with Microsoft license activation, but Win10 is is still activated. Maybe that's because I'm using MS logon. Can you explain that?

You are obviously not the native English speaker, otherwise you would understand my post in a different light, especially the ending. I changed the subject because you showed your ignorance regarding Linux. "totally backwards, includes knowledge of code to totally understand as well as have limited compatibility with available software" You still haven't answered my question of "What available software?" You sounded just like the millions of MS brainwashed minions spreading their FUD to the masses. Personally, I don't particularly like people plugging their Linux distros as a salvation and solution to everything, including their hemorrhoids, but it's up to the individuals to use what they want. And I do run a few penguins of my own. And, sometimes, it's perhaps better to zip, rather than show how ignorant you are.

No, but you're wrong assuming that Super Computers run as Internet servers for financial transactions.
-
Forgot to add to my previous reply, I meant the real Heavy Metal, the machines that run 1,000+ PFlops/s (that's Peta FLOPS). And they are not connected to the internet and do not run commercial software. They are quietly running calculating folding proteins, simulating nuclear explosions to picoseconds, and other such everyday mundane things for the betterment of human civilization.
-
An ATM machine is nothing more than an end terminal, not the application. The security of the transaction is assured by the network protocols. And some of the ATM's actually still run IBM OS/2, and never BSOD. CrowdStrike anybody?
-
Hahahaha!!! Wrong again Gottfrid. They all run on large IBM mainframes, like Z/15, with IBM z/OS as the operating system and are written in COBOL. There is nothing "secure" about Windows servers. On the contrary...
-
I don't know from what MS stone you crawled under Gottfrid, but you should get yourself educated. Linux kernel is far more advanced than Windows equivalent, and doesn't BSOD just because I happen to pass some air. And I just wonder what you mean by "available software"? You can do anything on a Linux distro, and more, than you can do on Windows. Especially in the commercial sector. And were you aware that it's Linux kernel that drives the worlds largest super computers? I will agree that Linux is not for everybody, but even those using a tablet or an Android smartphone, use Linux, without knowing it.

Explain please, the script is available on GitHub for anybody to download, and if you read it, it uses only commands supplied with Windows. But maybe you are not versed with shell commands... And if you could be bothered to visit the website (massgrave.dev) they explain how the script and activation works. "The IRM command in PowerShell downloads a script from a specified URL, and the IEX command executes it." Paranoia rules OK with you, it seems.

Suvarnabhumi Airport to handle 80 million passengers yearly by 2031
SpaceKadet replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Did some quick calculation... Discarding 1/3 of the figure as domestic travel, there need to be 300 immigration points open and manned 24/7. Have they thought of that? -
Thai Air Force Poised to Select Swedish Gripen Jet

The Chinese overlords already have access to F16s. Not so the latest JAS39. The latest war tech in JAS39 must be mouth watering for the Uncles across the border. But let's just hope that Thais get the SAAB software that will watch the pilots and not let them pull the stick while flying inverted at very low altitude.... we know what happens if they do... -
Bye bye Electric & Hello Hydrogen?
SpaceKadet replied to eezergood's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
The graphic is a generic to illustrate the processes only. There are no reactor designs that would use reactor coolant to directly feed the turbine. In fact, that would be impossible, as well as dangerous. There is always a heat exchanger and steam generator before the turbine. The nuclear reactors use two metrics to define their energy output. Wt (watt thermal) and We (watt electric). They always generate more thermal energy than can be converted to electricity. The cost of nuclear is merely a consequence of political decisions, not entirely its inherent cost. The efficiency of electrolysis process is 70-80%. Expected to be improved to 85% by 2030. By comparison, the ICE in your car has only 40-45% efficiency. And it’s not 33% waste, go back to your chemistry class, please. Besides, I would not regard oxygen as waste. There are many industrial uses for oxygen. Remember just a few years ago when all the hospitals complained about the shortages of oxygen? The thermochemical cycle process is less efficient, at around 50%, but as you can see in the graphic, it uses the residual thermal energy after the conversion to electric, so no, it could not be used to spin another turbine. The chemical compounds used in these processes are continuously recycled, so no wastage and pollution.
