  1. Aren't you supposed to serve at least one third of your sentence before clemency can be granted? Or will the time as the high flier in Dubai be counted as that? Done deal, but we knew that already. He would not have come back otherwise. Will he re-marry now too that the problems are resolved.
  2. Are you shure? Thought he would be better in "Angry Birds".
  3. Well, you can always get Som Tam for 30 or so baht down any street. That's "hot" food, right?
  4. I used to quite enjoy Landmark buffet. Food selection was always quite good, both Thai and Western. Less than 2K but no open bar.
  5. Yes, maybe. But you were learning about who was conquering whom, not the symbols that were used by the conquerors. IMO, it is quite unfortunate that the Nazi party decided to use such an auspicious symbol as the Swastika. Just by that action it became the symbol of death and devastation in the Western world.
  6. True, as this is European history. They know as much of European history as an average westerner knows about the SE Asian history. Here, they had the Empire of the Sun ruling during that time. And, let's face it, the Swastika has been a religious and good luck symbol is these parts of the worlds for centuries. Just go to India or Indonesia.....
  7. I'm sure they would try, but the shares issue was just such an easy thing to pin on him.
  8. He knew what happened to Tanathorn and should have got rid of the shares. Signed them over to his mother, just to mitigate that problematic issue.
  9. I hate to say this, but it's his own fault. He knew what happened to his predecessor, and is educated and smart enough to know that he needed to be squeaky clean before stating his election pledges.
  10. What will they think of next... Vegetarian corridor? Kosher corridor?
  11. I would never buy a bulb on Lazada, unless it's Philips Hue and they cost thousands, you just don't know where they have been. Vast majority are low quality Chinese made goods, pretending to be the genuine article. I would go to HomePro where the staff will plug the bulb into an electric outlet, you can see the color and the intensity and can compare with other brands. Also, be aware that one manufacturers 3000K might not be another's 3000K. YMMV. Personally I prefer 3000-4500K temperature. The warm white. At home I have mostly Philips Hue, where I can set the temperature and intensity individually for each bulb. It's not for everyone though, as it can be quite costly for a larger setup. Buying on Lazada will save you very little, in most cases less than a beer.
  12. Time is relative. Maybe that "old guy" is in bed by 8pm, while "young guys" party until 4am. Besides, "Champagne Breakfast" is an old tradition. Champagne can be substituted by any alcoholic drink. Once I had my first one, never looked back..... My son accidently had his first Champagne Breakfast at the age of 5. The Champagne was intended for my ex-wife's 30th birthday breakfast. While we were talking, he polished almost half of the bottle himself. He was on a buzz most of the day after that.... Nowadays however, I try very hard to have my first alcoholic drink after 5pm.
  13. That's very strange. Never came across a website that would not open from bookmarks.
  14. I really understand the concerns aired by some members here. I have 3 banking apps on my phone, BKK bank, my offshore bank, and my other European bank. All of them are much more difficult to navigate, and show much less information than their websites. Perhaps not surprising, as all the apps seem to be written by Millennials or GenZ. That's what we call progress..... When I was young it took 4 hours to cross the Atlantic. Now it takes 9. And who said that the phone app would be more secure? How easy is it to lose your phone or get it stolen? Try that with my 30kg PC at home.
  15. I don't use Edge, and it seems much more complex than just Alt-F as said. Vivaldi will do it in one click.
  16. Actually, it can work quite good with one partner lefthanded. Had a lefthanded girlfriend once. It worked quite well in some situations.... Sorry for off topic attempt at humor.
  17. That depends entirely which browser you are using. Only Vivaldi will "appify" a website that I know of. And what is the advantage of thus created "app", that will only open a customized version of the browser directly to the webpage, versus opening from bookmarks.
  18. A true story: During WW2 when German army besieged Stalingrad for several months, the defenders were almost starved to death. In the end they had to resort to consume their pets, all the stray dogs and cats. When all the cats were gone, there was an explosion in rodent population that poisoned and ate most of the grain in stores, adding to the famine. Once the siege was lifted, the local population had to import all the cats they could find in the surrounding villages, and the order was restored. Thanks to the mighty CAT! And some people just cry that a cat kills a bird or two. My BAC (Black Angry Cat) makes a short order of the squirrels that we have around here, trying to get to wife's rice or occasional food rests. And then proudly presents the remains to us. Not to mention occasional rat that strays into our property. Occasional cockroach are dealt with by my resident Geckos. Estimated lifespan... 5 minutes. Unfortunately their population also suffered when the BAC took over the ownership on the house...
  19. Cats are amazing animals: Some can survive a fall from the 32nd stories with only minor injuries. Unlike dogs, humans didn't domesticate cats. They domesticated us. Some researchers say that our advanced civilization wouldn't be possible without cats. Early human civilizations relied much on the grain to eat. Cats protected the grain stores from expansion of rodents, who would otherwise destroy it. Some other researchers say that the cat's brain work similar to human brain. It forms neuron connections in a very similar way to us. Maybe that's why cats are so attracted to humans. Cats are born with genetic memory. They know everything about hunting, fighting and hiding from the day they are born. It takes them 1-2 years to coordinate that knowledge with their body, muscles and "tools". Personally, I think that cats know everything there is to know about Life, Universe and Everything. They don't want to tell us because they regard us as somewhat inferior to real Cats....????????
  20. You are lucky and fortunate because a cat wants to stay with you...
  21. We adopted a Konja (aka Bombay Cat) some 4 years ago. Now he's the king of the house, vary protective of the property to the point where when I have craftsmen or gardeners coming to fix something I have to lock him up in the bedroom. They are scared <deleted>less of him, as he has a reputation of an angry cat. Well, what can you expect from 20 razor sharp claws and 4 needle like canines. Even MIL tend to stay outside the gate as he scratched her very badly. However, when my friends or my brother comes to visit he just loves the company. My wife is so fond of him, she will just spoil him silly and would say he's better than a guard dog.
  22. All governments are hiding a lot of things. Try the Swedish government and the sinking of Estonia ferry.
