China Denies Upstream Water Release Amid Thai Floods
SpaceKadet replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Somehow those problems didn't happen before China build all those dams on the upstream Maekong. -
China Denies Upstream Water Release Amid Thai Floods
SpaceKadet replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If they deny it, they are guilty of it. Especially CCP. No further discussion there... -
Suvarnabhumi Airport to handle 80 million passengers yearly by 2031
SpaceKadet replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Did some quick calculation... Discarding 1/3 of the figure as domestic travel, there need to be 300 immigration points open and manned 24/7. Have they thought of that? -
Thai Air Force Poised to Select Swedish Gripen Jet
SpaceKadet replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
The Chinese overlords already have access to F16s. Not so the latest JAS39. The latest war tech in JAS39 must be mouth watering for the Uncles across the border. But let's just hope that Thais get the SAAB software that will watch the pilots and not let them pull the stick while flying inverted at very low altitude.... we know what happens if they do... -
Bye bye Electric & Hello Hydrogen?
SpaceKadet replied to eezergood's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
The graphic is a generic to illustrate the processes only. There are no reactor designs that would use reactor coolant to directly feed the turbine. In fact, that would be impossible, as well as dangerous. There is always a heat exchanger and steam generator before the turbine. The nuclear reactors use two metrics to define their energy output. Wt (watt thermal) and We (watt electric). They always generate more thermal energy than can be converted to electricity. The cost of nuclear is merely a consequence of political decisions, not entirely its inherent cost. The efficiency of electrolysis process is 70-80%. Expected to be improved to 85% by 2030. By comparison, the ICE in your car has only 40-45% efficiency. And it’s not 33% waste, go back to your chemistry class, please. Besides, I would not regard oxygen as waste. There are many industrial uses for oxygen. Remember just a few years ago when all the hospitals complained about the shortages of oxygen? The thermochemical cycle process is less efficient, at around 50%, but as you can see in the graphic, it uses the residual thermal energy after the conversion to electric, so no, it could not be used to spin another turbine. The chemical compounds used in these processes are continuously recycled, so no wastage and pollution. -
Suvarnabhumi Airport gears up for third runway trials
SpaceKadet replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
If they expect "significant increase in traffic", it would be perhaps the time to "significantly increase" the immigration boots too, and perhaps upgrade the baggage handling. Don't think the passengers would be happy waiting 1 hour for their bags to appear. And with the recent removal of the Fast Track.... -
Bye bye Electric & Hello Hydrogen?
SpaceKadet replied to eezergood's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Maybe, maybe not. Time will tell. Don't entirely agree with McKinsey, they are just full of speculations. If any country can do it, it will be Japan. They seem to pursue other means of engine propulsion now, but still haven't discarded hydrogen for industrial use and commercial traffic. Seem they want to break the Chinese domination on the electric/battery market. -
Bye bye Electric & Hello Hydrogen?
SpaceKadet replied to eezergood's topic in Thailand Motor Discussion
Not entirely so. Hydrogen production can be easily accomplished in a nuclear power plant. In fact, many new SMR designs include a hydrogen production plugin, as well as desalination plugin. Using a nuclear reaction for production of other desirables just increases its efficiency. -
Paetongtarn Won't Take Defence Minister Role, Declares Thaksin
SpaceKadet replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Thaksin? Isn't he supposed to stay out of politics as part of his parole? Could somebody maybe leave a complaint with CC and had him banned for life, please? Is he now the official spokesman of the party? -
That is just bloody ridiculous. A normal Chefs kitchen knife is more dangerous in skilled hands than those little toys. Are the utility outdoor knives prohibited too? How do you transport one home if you buy it in the shop. Time to get a baseball bat and wrap it in concertina wire and some razor blades for good measure. <deleted> them all, I would buy a gun too, just in spite. Americans are right in this case. "If you ban the guns and knives, only the criminals will have those."

Top Japanese AV Stars Announced for 2024 Expo in Thailand
SpaceKadet replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I am an avid Japanese AV(id) (good pun, eh) collector since many years but have never heard about any of the ladies here. Checking my normal AV sites, couldn't find many and all censored... no thanks. But realizing that there are 6,000 new girls entering the AV business every year, it might not be surprising. But what about the real "heavy" weights of the Japanese AV industry, like Hitomi Tanaka, Anri Okita, or even Anju Akane, just to name a few of my favs. If they ain't comin, I ain't going..... -
Top Japanese AV Stars Announced for 2024 Expo in Thailand
SpaceKadet replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Some videos are de-censored by the avplayer, but the quality is not that great. There are many uncensored Japanese AV available. Apparently there is a loophole in the Japanese porn legislation that allows the uncensored raw footage to be exported. Several Japanese AV companies have established themselves abroad. They then import the raw footage, edit and make the uncensored AV available to the masses. Might get banned if I tell you the companies though... -

SpaceKadet replied to slappy's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I keep much less that that with them, usually GBP10,000 to GBP 20,000. They have not complained. Are you sure you're reading requirements for private customers, and not the corporate? In fact I have never held that much in that account. Mind you, I've been their customer, and previous incarnations since Tyndall IoM since 1980's. I know that they want you to keep a minimum of GBP5,000. Less than that ,they will charge you a small fee. -

What Movies or TV shows are you watching (2024)
SpaceKadet replied to Rimmer's topic in Entertainment
I just finished watching 3 seasons of “From Dusk Till Dawn”, a 2014 TV series, a spin-off of the Quentin Tarantino movie by the same name. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3337194/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_3_tt_8_nm_0_in_0_q_from%20dusk https://www.imdb.com/video/vi1531293721/?playlistId=tt3337194&ref_=tt_ov_vi I am not a great fan of the vampire genre, but I did like the movie and the TV series did not disappoint. Plenty of action, adventure, drama, and vampirical blood splatter. Highly recommended for all Vampirical fans. The famous Cheech Marin “kitty” speech in front of the Titty Twister bar from the original movie is there, but slightly toned down for the TV series. If nothing else, you can also feast your eyes on the ever so sexy and gorgeous Eiza Gonzales, as the vampire queen Santanico. The series is by Netflix, but I don’t think they stream it anymore. Unfortunately, it might be difficult to find on the P2P network, and it’s not well seeded. It took me a few weeks to get all the episodes. -

Last episode of "Hotel Cocaine" just dropped. "Tells the story of Roman Compte, Cuban exile, CIA operative, and general manager of the Hotel Mutiny, the glamorous epicenter of the late '70s and early '80s Miami cocaine scene." https://www.imdb.com/title/tt17676706/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1 Contemporary with "Scarface". Good action and drama. -
Which members do you think are Russian/Chinese/NK etc bots?
SpaceKadet replied to gargamon's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Well, probably not many, if any, AI bots. But a fair amount of Chinese and PRK 5 cent bloggers, probably no Russians yet, only commie supporters. They all come out of woodwork, like cockroaches, when there is a topic started that is against the official policy. Just remember what was posted when Dalai Lama was visiting Thailand some years back. And how they all scattered when the the topic run it's cause. -
Is this Apple Video insulting to Thailand ?
SpaceKadet replied to CharlieH's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I don't think Thais should be insulted. It's the Americans that should be insulted by this video, showing them off as a bunch of idiots as soon as they leave their home country. But, let's face it, it's that Jewish comedy style that is so prevalent now in comedy movies. Anybody watched Dumb & Dumber, or The Interview?
