Thatcher was also reported to have tapped her head and told one of her aides that there was nothing in there referring to the President, I think she got that right. I recall watching him in one debate where he stopped half way through answering an economics question not sure whether he was meant to be for or against it. Reagan got away with it as he got away with many gaffes.
That's because he was a better actor than a President

OPs post makes me cringe....and shake my head
You are glad that if you return as a paying customer she welcomes you back with open arms?!?!?!!?!?!
seriously!!
and you consider paid encounters with prostitutes as ex flames!?!?!?!?
Im simply lost for words!
seriously, back home, do you consider a paid encounter as a flame?????
I doubt it!
What happens to men when they cross over the thai border!
I think the saying is 'farang leave their brains at swampy'

Well the above post demonstrates how calling a retirement extension a visa can cause confusion.
Single Non-Imm O based on retiring in Thailand looks the best way to go. Put some money in a Thai bank quickly (800k baht) if that is the route you intend to go.
Why do I see so often, people tell about putting 800.000 bath in the bank, when the rule is: Either 800.000 bath in the bank OR show statement telling, You have a monthly income of 65.000 bath.
I just Wonder
or combination of both?

Very Important! Take for the rice the cooking water from the chicken.
Yeah, without the fat in the rice you're not doin' it.
Yes the rice takes on the flavour of the chicken stock just like a classic Italian risotto

One other place name, and this is purely from memory, that I learned just to annoy people.
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.
I've been there.
Well, the Train Station!

Why is it one of the restricted countries? What's changed?
Fraud - obviously Santander has decided the level of fraudulent transactions has become unacceptable. I've read many stories on here about card cloning and accounts being emptied etc

why they keep falling in thailand got me beat??
It's not just in Thailand. I fell off of a balcony in Benidorm when I was on holiday with a bunch of mates just after leaving school. It was a second floor balcony too. Luckily the ground broke my fall.
" Luckily the ground broke my fall." ? No brain damage then!
I expect the landing knocked some sense into him

Different people have different needs on large-screen TVs. My perspective is strictly size and quality of the picture. I study, watch and sometimes write about movies, so when I watch them at home, a 60" is my minimum size for a cinema-type experience. (I have ties to Thailand but I'm working in Saudi Arabia, so home cinema is all the more significant in a country where movie theatres don't exist.)
So I ignore 3-D and all the other crap. Yes, I get most of my video material from the internet. But I simply download it first with my laptop and onto any USB drive, and then connect it to my Asus media player, which in turn connects to the TV via HDMI cable. So, long story short, I watch anything I want on a large TV without paying extra for "smart" nonsense.
This is personal taste, but i ignore 3-D and certainly prefer not to pay extra for it. 3-D perverts cinematography. It's great for watching talking rats stick their noses in your face. I think it will fizzle out.
I noticed Siam TV in Chiang Mai this past year has offered a couple of basic 60" models (I believe Sony and LG or Toshiba) for under 50,000 baht.
I agree 3D is a gimmick that you quickly tire of. I Have a dumb TV and connect it to my WiFi/laptop with a Chromecast stick which turns my TV into a smart tv - costs about 1300bht

In Greece, and especially in the villages, about 60 years ago, when a girl came to the age of menstruation, about 12 to 13, the parents made sure that would find a husband for her.
The explanation was that as she was expected to be a virgin at her time of marriage, parents were afraid that she would loose her virginity to somebody else.
Hence the rush.
I believe this was a custom in other Mediterranean countries also, but not sure.
Of course now we live in different times........but I wrote that as a reference to the old days.
Roma gypsies still practise child marriage

Tea tree shampoo and conditioner helps to keep them off. Wash all bedding, clothes etc at 60c and anything that cannot be washed at this temperature should be placed in a plastic bag and frozen for 12 hours. The hair treatment products only kill the lice which leaves the nits(eggs) still in the hair so you then have to use the nit comb. Another way to destroy the eggs is to use a hot hair straighteners which burn the eggs.

Hard to imagine this is still happening in the 21st Century.

A 9 year old shopping for fireworks ?
Who gave him the money ?
Very irresponsible carer, who should be prosecuted. No excuses at all.
carers can't stop children getting hold of small amounts of money but shop owners don't have to sell dangerous goods to children

we were early adopters of a 4g Note 3 samsung phone... and have noticed over the past year that 4g coverage has dramatically improved around town.
We live out in Sansai and get 4g, also getting it down in parts of Hang Dong and Promenade side of town as well...
Our plan provides for 1.5 gigs (true move) of 4G, then cuts back to 3G if you exceed that limit... since the wife
likes to watch instructional videos (say, while waiting for the kids drama class to end, or other outside activities)... this serves us well...
We don't believe that sound quality of calls is affected by 4G, but our data stream certainly benefits from it.
standard voice calls are carried over the 2G network but data uses 3 and 4G so if you use Skype, Line etc for calls these will improve with a 4G connection.

more thai police work ..case closed ...NO ANSWERS
Thick and fast, thick and fast.
The surface has been scratched.....
Thailand, now is your chance. All that was talked about by your people through every "tumultuous" event we have witnessed in 7 years here is now global news. Every day your cash cow is being bled dry in front of you. The time to act is now.....today. Time to bow your head low, explain the situation and deal with it. You'd be surprised how well the West responds to an apology, an explanation, another apology and then positive action. The weirdest part you'll find is how quickly they'll offer to help you.
that would mean losing face and THAT will never happen

Anyone know when this is effective? I am gonna be real positive about Indo as an alternative to LOS in my later years. Gorgeous girls, great food, and affordable I hear you can get a five year visa if you marry a local girl, hopefully more good things and oh so close to Phuket if the urge arises or feel like a decent pla neung manaow (Steamed fish with lemon and chili and ginger yum!!)
you'll probably have to convert to Islam - but no worries there lol

I always thought "ham"burgers are made from ham (pork). Beefburgers are made from beef
ham·burg·erˈhamˌbərɡər/nounnoun: hamburger; plural noun: hamburgers- a round patty of ground beef, fried or grilled and typically served on a bun or roll and garnished with various condiments.
- North Americanground beef.
-
They are called Hamburgers because they were invented in Hamburg Germany

I do not judge what meat people choose to eat. The issue is of cruelty. ... if they can slaughter dogs humanely then nobody should condemn another person's right to eat just another source of protein.
You've hit the nail on the head. If this trade is banned then it will move underground and there will be no control over the treatment of the dogs.
