It's not clear how this tax will be collected. I have received the odd postal item and been invited to the local Tax Office to pay fees for them. Usually less than 50 baht. If this is going to happen it will certainly slow down delivery. I can't imagine a Chinese supplier working through the Thai Tax book and assessing each item sold, then collecting the funds and remitting them to Thailand ?

What was the purpose of "honking" the horn after being cut off ? I think the horn is to prevent accidents and perhaps as an example, if you see a person about to step onto the road in front of your vehicle, then honk so they become aware of you ? Or perhaps they may be reversing towards you where they may not have a clear view of the distance between vehicles, then "honk".

It would be helpful if the retailers were required to show the Government's licence to sell the product, and the expiry date of the licence, at the entrance to their shops.

I can't answer your "seat belt" question, and I similarly wonder why they don't wear motor cycle helmets ? Daily I see MC riders carrying their helmet but not wearing it. There is still the "catch 22" situation that to apply for a long term visa it is a requirement to have money in the bank ! Si if the banks don't allow long term visitors to open accounts, then how can they complete the visa application ?
