can you understand today's actors mumbling on tv?
cracker1 replied to Pouatchee's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I am an English (only) speaker and also have great difficulty understanding the English spoken on many British programs. I recall giving up on "Peaky Blinders" a few years ago because of the language issue, as well as a few newer British productions. I have less problem with the American shows but prefer the British ones. -
Thai Government plans digital shift for lottery sales
cracker1 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Digital ticket sales to foreigners are unavailable and of course prize winnings are not permitted to be paid to foreigners, from KTB. It is hard to understand why we would be excluded, other than a level of jealousness if a foreigner one a big one. -
Good news for everyone's health.

I have given up booking with Agoda after many years and regular bookings. The reason I have stopped is they no longer provide an email address for assistance, help, or answers to questions. Seems no way of contacting them now, so goodbye Agoda and Booking, com (Same company)

"This initiative, led by Mr. Phumirin Sukprasert, Head of Nuisance and Pollution Control/Deputy Head of Environmental Quality Management, " Seems like this man has strayed from his department and perhaps should be concentrating on reducing the air pollution in Bangkok, that is currently at dangerous levels.

Pattaya Police Intensify Inspections Ahead of New Year Celebrations
cracker1 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
I noticed some of those "Fire doors" opened in to the main area and so in an incident where many patrons are exiting in panic, these doors would be pushed shut wit a build up of crushed bodies blocking exit. I hope these issues were noticed and being addressed ......................... but I doubt it ! -

Is there a big bus from Don Mueang airport to Pattaya?

There is a 30 baht bus leaves DM for Mor Chit about every 30 minutes, where you could change buses. -
Seems strange that Immigration require a "Boarding Pass" from arriving passengers. I always considered the boarding pass to be the document that allowed me past the boarding gate and onto the aircraft and to my nominated seat. I often left them on the aircraft or ditched them in the first bin I came to. I will now have to change my habits of more than 60 years of travel.

Bangkok driver warns of aggressive young windscreen washer
cracker1 replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
"some drivers chose to turn their eyes away from them to avoid the services, and others tried to be busy with their phones or something else when the children approached." I can not understand why the drivers don't say :- "Go away from my car. Don't touch my car or some negative words instead of saying nothing ! -
