  1. All window dressing... Nothing will change, unfortunately...

Too lazy to address all the non-sense in the article, like submerged rocks ("suddenly there were submerged rocks, I am a ferry boat captain and I sail this exciting part of the sea for many years several times a day, but these rocks really kind of jumped at me, they were never there before"), alleged drugs (drugs in Thailand??? I don't believe it). I also fail to see what security guys on Koh Lan will change in similar situations. Security for what, employed by whom?!?

"If anything [bad] happens, someone must take responsibility," he said.

NO, someone is responsible, good or bad...

RIP for all these unnecessary victims and their families

  2. Yeah I used to eat at Japantown in San Francisco a lot. After that, Fuji and Zen don't rate. It's not only Japanese people that would get that.

Agree 100%. I lived in Tokyo for 2 years; Fuji and Zen are probably the best in Thailand (are they?!? I don't know others), but they would have NO customers in Japan wink.png

Oh, no, there are some better Japanese restaurants in Pattaya that cater to Japanese people. But even better places in Sri Racha (large Japanese expat community) and Bangkok.

You would make me happy by sharing the information about where to find the good/better Japanese places (Pattaya, Sri Racha, BKK). Good to eat, for special occasions thumbsup.gif

  3. Not sure what you expect. Seems reasonable to expect foreigners to be insured.

Very reasonable expectation!! I ALWAYS have insurance (health and travel), because you never know what might happen... (my frustration though is that I am careful and sofar have not made any claims!)

I refuse however to pay for other people who are too stupid to have insurance, for whatever reason. Too expensive is NOT a reason; after all, they have enough money to go on holiday...

It should be the first thing to buy when you go on holiday
